CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Going Green

Time for a Saturday blog hop for Create with Connie and Mary!

sp15sathopwelcome

Our theme this week is Going Green. That could mean several things. A green card, St. Patrick’s Day, recycling, to name a few.

I decided to go with a green card featuring ‘shamrocks’ just for you –

libbystamps, stampin up, Create with Connie and Mary, Fresh Fruit, Watercolor Words, Lots of Labels FramelitsA simply sweet card! Great for lots of occasions to let someone know you’re thinking of them.

libbystamps, stampin up, Create with Connie and Mary, Fresh Fruit, Watercolor Words, Lots of Labels Framelits

I stamped flowers from the Fresh Fruit stamp and cut the fifth petal up the center to create the stem. On each one, I used a different petal to create the stem. The result? A more natural shamrock look. Kinda cool, huh?

These nifty, thinking outside the box sort of things can be found in our tutorials through Create with Connie and Mary. Check the other great designers and see what they have to share with you today and take the time to leave us a comment!

Five Card Friday

Last weekend I had a wonderful Card Buffet. I usually post my selection board on Facebook and Instagram for all the attendees to see. Then, if I get time, I post the individual cards in subsequent posts. Well. I didn’t take the time to do that.

Instead, I decided to post the five I hadn’t blogged about today. Get ready to pin some great cards!!!

This was card 1 –

libbystamps, stampin up, Tie Dyed, Watercolor Words, Card Buffet, Valentine's, Love

It was actually a card I created here. This time, for class, I added the additional colors to show two-step stamping. It seemed no one had trouble lining it up either! My biggest concern…..

I had just received a stamp order right before the class. This Stylish Stems Bundle was in the order and I had to play with the Stylish Stems Framelits –

libbystamps, stampin up, Stylish Stems Framelits, thank you, Thankful Thoughts, Sending Love DSP, Card Buffet

This became another card on the board because I just loved the simplicity of how to create it!

This stamp set, Beautiful You is quite popular right now. So, I just had to show it off as well.

img_3599

You can’t tell in the picture, but her dress and hat are colored with Wink of Stella! Nice touch in person along with the Silver Glimmer strip!

I like to create at least two cards on the board choices that use the same stamps or DSP to show the versatility of the products. Here, I used the Tie Dyed set again, combined with the Sale-a-Bration set, So Very Much.

libbystamps, stampin up, So Very Much, Sale-a-bration, SAB, Tie Dyed, Card Buffet

What a great combination! Both are bold and big. It was also very quick and easy!!!

The last card I’ll share today was also another card I had previously shown. You can see it here. However, fussy cutting is not everyone’s favorite thing to do! Imagine that????? So. I change this design up a bit!

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Sending Love DSP, Large Letters Framelits, Falling Petals EF, Valentine's, love

This was a fun card to create as it involves NO stamping! Oh, and, I also changed up the embossing folder I had used s well.

What do you think? Some great cards on the card Buffet this month? I’d love to read your thoughts!!!

Love Squared

Continuing the love today for Create with Connie and Mary!

We have a layout challenge today –

ccmc441

I immediately pulled out my Sending Love DSP and got to creating this card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunburst Sayings, Watercolor Words, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Sending Love DSP Stack, Occasions 2017, Valentine's Day

It came together in a flash and matched the sketch to a T!

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunburst Sayings, Watercolor Words, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Sending Love DSP Stack, Occasions 2017, Valentine's Day

After corner rounding, I adhered the outer diagonal squares together first. Then, the opposing ones. Once those were together, I used dimensionals to pop this up a bit.

The center heart is actually the middle piece of that die cut stringy heart. I just cut it twice in the two colors. I saved the unused hearts for later (tomorrows card!). Always keep those scraps like this. Even the border from cutting this out.

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunburst Sayings, Watercolor Words, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Sending Love DSP Stack, Occasions 2017, Valentine's Day

I had already stamped the border and the love sentiment. I added the focal point and rhinestones and I was done!

Quick. Easy.

I’d love to read what you think.

Show us some love this week by stopping by and playing with our challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary!

Language of Love Just for You

I’m feeling the love, how about you?

It’s Tuesday. Time for some inspiration for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

We have a cool layout this week –

Challenge #305. Optional Theme : My Favorite Things

This is a stretch, but relating one of my favorite things to stampin is about my hubs. He speaks many languages and when we were dating, he would always say ‘I love you’ in different languages to me. I always thought that very sweet! He still does it from time to time, but it was soo impressive – as I only spoke english at the time!!

Ok. So. Translate that into making a card. No problem –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Watercolor Words, Sending Love DSP Stack, Happy Heart EF, TSOT#305

This DSP stack works PERFECT!!!!

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Watercolor Words, Sending Love DSP Stack, Happy Heart EF, TSOT#305

This is a really fun mix of the card base, Soft Sky, and the bold Real Red and Whisper White colors in the DSP!

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Watercolor Words, Sending Love DSP Stack, Happy Heart EF, TSOT#305

And, yes, I fussy cut the stamped sentiment!  It gave this a little more pizzaz!

So, what do you think? This card speaks volumes of love in any language, right? Please leave a comment – I love to read your comments!

And, play along with us at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday this week! You can join us on Facebook or our blog!

Love You, CCMC

Yes. Two things going on here.

First, it’s my anniversary. I know. Another life event happening on the SAME day as a card challenge – on a challenge blog that I just recently became a Design team member of…….

This week over at Create with Connie and Mary, we have another great sketch to get you thinking and get you using all some of those things from your stash! See the sketch –

CCMC403

Nice layout, right? I certainly thought so.

Since it is my anniversary and I needed a card……..I created this –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Watercolor Words, Fun Frames EF, Red Foil Sheets, Sweetheart Punch, CCMC403

Lovely, right?

I loved it. I think Ed will too!

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Watercolor Words, Fun Frames EF, Red Foil Sheets, Sweetheart Punch, CCMC403

As you can see, I took to the fussy cutting again. For both sentiments too! They came from Watercolor Words. I cut the ‘you’ from the ‘just for you’ apart!

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Watercolor Words, Fun Frames EF, Red Foil Sheets, Sweetheart Punch, CCMC403

The lighter color of the words is on purpose as I used the Basic Grey Archival Ink Pad. I wanted that softer look here. And, you can’t go wrong with red foil paper to express love.

I’ve got some celebratin’ to do – 26 years! Wahoo! Love you my dear Ed!!!

So. You know it’s good ‘card-carma’ to leave a comment. Then, you should check the rest of the Design Team creations over at Create with Connie and Mary, while you’re there – pull out your stash and play along with us!

Watercooler Wednesday, Challenge 60

Taking a break because it’s Wednesday. You know what that means…….

43fd9-wwc

Yep. That’s right. Another cool challenge from Watercooler Wednesday Challenges

I  l o v e d  this one.

WWC60_03-23

It’s just my style. Clean and simple.

And, I needed a birthday card for Friday. So, got to get this in the mail pronto. But, I’ll share it first –

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC60, Watercolor Words, Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Cherry on Top DSP,

Clean & simple, right? It’s about as clean and simple as you can get.

I just had to go with two layers here, but technically, the one layer would have been really simple.

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC60, Watercolor Words, Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Cherry on Top DSP,

I stamped my image towards the right side, center. Ran a strip of washi down the left side. Took some scraps of DSP and some thick baker’s twine and stapled them atop the washi strip. Tied the twine. Popped that panel up on the card front. Called it done. Period. Finished.

Took me longer to write this post than to create the card. Really. It did.

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC60, Watercolor Words, Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Cherry on Top DSP,

One more look.

It’s so fun and cheery! Great for really anyone or any age.

So, you’ve come this far in my post. You should practice good ‘card carma’ and leave a comment.

Check out Watercooler Wednesday Challenges and play along too! This is an easy one!
