Happy Wednesday my blogging friends! Time to create for Watercooler Wednesday!
Our challenge today comes from Gail –
These are the best challenges. Almost all of our cards we create are for women! So you have no excuse not to join our challenge this week!
This is what I’m sharing for the challenge –
Bright. Fun. Clean. Simple.
My inspiration and color choice came from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. That’s what I used to create the candles. It was a scrap from one of the papers I had. Worked perfect for this candle idea. The flames are created using the Tree Builder Punch.
So. You going to join Gail’s challenge this week and submit a card to Watercooler Wednesday? We’d love to see you there! You can also view the other Design Team cards there too.

Every two weeks its Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday for me. And, it’s that time again. (Although, quite honestly, everyday is a stampin’ day for me!)
Our Challenge #287 this time around is this –
Theme : School Days.
Many of you have already gone back to school. However, some are just now starting college or homeschool classes. That’s who I had in mind for my card today –
Just simply a fun, bright card to share today!
I love using simple elements and colors. This was a perfect way to go here.
I thought the apples looked nice with the added touch of the dimensionals. Yes, I know, apples are not orange. However, going the other way the colors just didn’t work.
Whip ones of these up for someone needing a little extra encouragement for a day! It will really be a boost for them for the day!
And, leaving me a comment is too!!!!
You can play along with Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday on Facebook or by clicking on the blog name. We’d love to see you join us!
Middle of the week. before we know it, fall will be here!
It’s also a Watercooler Wednesday challenge!
Today we have a challenge hosted by, ME!!!
Initially, it was going to be back to School, but, I was lovingly convinced to change it.
And, of course, I have my own take on trees.
As a kid, did you ever lay on the ground and stare up into a tree? As in, looking at all the branches and leaves and maybe see the clouds or the sunny skies through it?
Well, that was my inspiration for my card –
I added the apples for my former challenge, lol. And, it was just the right amount of added color too.
The inside was also artfully decorated as well!
I love it! And, I think it fits the challenge quite well! Don’t you agree?
Head over to Watercooler Wednesday and see the other terrific design team cards and join us this week. It’s always fun to see new people create with us! Especially, since this is my hosted challenge!
Supplies used –
- Stamp Sets – Bold Botanical (Paper Pumpkin), Sheltering Tree, Sprinkles of Life
- Ink – Cucumber Crush, Early Espresso
- Card Stock – Early Espresso, Real Red, Daffodil Delight Whisper White
- Punches – Tree Builder
Ha! Ha! I have to laugh. Because not too many people want to ‘celebrate’ a Texas summertime heat. Where the temps reach 100 and so does the humidity!
However, many of you would like to celebrate summertime! As do the designers over at Nacho Average Challenges –
That’s right. This is their current challenge and I just had to play along!
Summertime makes me think of sitting on a beach –
So, that’s where I went with my design.
I made my water a pretty torn Dapper Denim and Marina Mist blue. Had it been in Galveston’s water, it’d been brown.
I did kind of take a cue from our gorgeous Texas skies by adding the big fluffy clouds! The beach ball just seemed an appropriate ‘pop’ of color the card needed!
When I created this card, I used scrapped stamped images. For the life of me, I can not remember how cut out the word Celebrate out. It’s perfect – but I can not tell you why! But, it looks awesome on the card!
That’s right. Time for the bi-weekly challenge over at Try Stampin’ or not On Tuesday.
We’ve got a great one this time around! See for yourself –
I couldn’t decide what direction I wanted to go with this layout. After playing around with a few different ideas, I really liked this design –
I don’t think I used this punch and cloud stamp in this way yet. I really like how it turned out!
It’s funny how you see others creating certain things, and sometimes you just have to try them out for yourself!
I started with the basic rectangle as per the sketch and Sunburst Framelit cut it. I stamped and punched my clouds. Nothing special. But, I also punched a line of Silver Foil for the ‘silver lining’ of the cloud, adhering it just under the cloud bottom. Pretty simple.
And, the sentiment from the same set, I stapled it to the card. I like stapling – it’s trendy! It adds a casual look. It’s an easy, no adhesive alternative!
So, you like my creation? Have I inspired you? Why not join us at Try Stampin’ or not On Tuesday? Or, on our Facebook page to link up a creation. We take entries there too!
You know, it’s good ‘card carma’ to take a moment leave a comment!
Monday. Monday. That’s the scoop. No. Not really. It’s my card.
I’m working on projects for my upcoming Card Buffet next weekend. I got creative with another challenge, TGIF Challnge, this time –
What a fun starting point! I loved it and just kept going back to it. Trying to decide what to create.
I came up with this nifty little gem –
I love the way it turned out! And, when it’s opened, it’s a gift card holder too!
Isn’t this just the cutest?
I decided to go with standard flavors, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, to represent the colors of card stock. The Silver Glimmer Paper adds a nice pop of color too. This would work well for a boy or a girl, agree?
Nice thing about this little gem? You can make three from one sheet of card stock! How cool is that?
I can not wait to find a birthday to use this. Or, maybe this would just be a great ‘hello’ card with an ice cream gift card in it!?!?
I would love to hear what you think!
