You are Amazing

Hi Stampers! Today I have a card I designed for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday.

Challenge #317. Optional Theme : A Ray of Sunshine

What a great challenge to get you to thinking! Wouldn’t you agree?

This is what I came up with –

libbystamps, stampin up, All Things Thanks, Sunburst Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, TSOT

I think I got it right on the mark! It’s simply fun! Bright too! You almost need sunglasses!

I like the addition of the 2 circles, one in front of the starburst, the other behind. The retired Stampin’ Up Cloudy Day embossing isn’t half bad either! It added just what the card needed!

I hope that I inspired you to create a card using a Ray of Sunshine as your starting point to join us this week! You can link up on our blog  or on our Facebook page – so, you have no reason not to show us a project!

July Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Well, another month has passed! Time to receive lots of craftin’ goodness from me in a couple of posts for the day. This one is the Blogging Friends Blog Hop.

Blogging Friends Icon

Our theme this month is S U M M E R !

For me, that’s a little hard! Our summers here are humid scorchers! And, unless you live in Texas, you’ll never quite understand just what I mean….

I created two cards that are bright and fun and remind me of summer. This first one goes without sayin’ –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Gold Foil, Silver Foil, BFBH, Sunburst Thinlits, summer

Remember, I said scorcher! Gold foil Sunburst with the new Layering Circles Framelits. It’s a no-stampin’ card because, well, there’s no stampin’ here. The sentiment is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits (currently, my favorite).

When I cut this, I placed the foil good side out to get a reversed burst here. I also glued down just the center and used Dimensionals on the edges for depth. Hard to photograph, but, it’s there.

Then, the other thing that comes to mind for summer is beautiful flowers. The real kind that require little hydration! So I used the same Sunshine Wishes Thinlits to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Gold Foil, Silver Foil, BFBH, Sunburst Thinlits, summer I also used foil, silver this time to create the flower. I cut two out and over lapped them. I adhered then to Melon Mambo card stock and cut them out. It makes for a stunning flower using the same Layering Circles Framelits for the center. It’s simple. Bold. Elegant. Fun.

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Gold Foil, Silver Foil, BFBH, Sunburst Thinlits, summerSo. Two gorgeous, clean and simple cards for the ‘summer’!!!

This is a ‘blog hop’, which means you ‘hop’ from one blog to another. Everyone has created some fabulous projects. Please leave me some good ‘card-carma’ in the form of a comment. Then, hop on over to see what the others have created.

Happy Summer Solstice

Yep. That’s right. Today is the first official day of summer! Around here, it feels like summer has being going on since February.

Trying to get creative thoughts flowing – why not create a card just for the occasion? Ok, I will!

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunburst Thinlits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Perfectly Artistic DSP, Owl Builder Punch, Sale-a-Bration 2016

I love the Sunburst Thinlits! And, it pairs quite well with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits!

I whipped this up in no time. As I’m ‘cleaning’ (we do that in a craft room?????), I ran across some retired DSP from Sale-a-Bration that I used for the background and burst. Why not use instead of cleaning it up? Works for me!

So that’s just what I did!

I think I’ll use this card in a few days. I have just the perfect person for it.

Guess I’ll get back to ‘cleaning’. Actually, I’m having an Open House on Sunday and I’m creating the make’n takes for the event.

I’d love to hear from you – it’s been awhile.

Congratulations on Your Retirement

I bet my hubs was hoping this was for him. Like a sign or something!

This was another requested card for my May Card Buffet this past weekend. Great idea it is. And, Stampin’ Up even has a retirement stamp too!

I came up with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Wild About Flowers, English Garden, Sunburst Thinlits, Circles Collection Framelits, Metallic Foil Doilies, Retirement

Wonderfully cheery card I’d say!

I’ve been seeing this lovely Sunburst Framelit used to make flowers – I wanted to try it. I thought it was a good idea to show my customers another use for this framelit too. It was perfect for this card!

libbystamps, stampin up, Wild About Flowers, English Garden, Sunburst Thinlits, Circles Collection Framelits, Metallic Foil Doilies, Retirement

I see more of these fun flowers in my future! The are just so happy!

libbystamps, stampin up, Wild About Flowers, English Garden, Sunburst Thinlits, Circles Collection Framelits, Metallic Foil Doilies, Retirement

I slightly curled the edges for added dimension off the card front and set the layers a little off as well.

Sadly, these Circles Collection framelits are retiring. So, we will have to use another circle to make these.

I’d love to read your happy comments! It’s good ‘card-carma’!!

Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday

That’s right. Time for the bi-weekly challenge over at Try Stampin’ or not On Tuesday.

b921e-head

We’ve got a great one this time around! See for yourself –

Challenge #265.

I couldn’t decide what direction I wanted to go with this layout. After playing around with a few different ideas, I really liked this design –

libbystamps, stampin' up, Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set, Sunburst Thinlits, Tree Builder Punch, Silver Foil, TSOT265

I don’t think I used this punch and cloud stamp in this way yet. I really like how it turned out!

libbystamps, stampin' up, Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set, Sunburst Thinlits, Tree Builder Punch, Silver Foil, TSOT265

It’s funny how you see others creating certain things, and sometimes you just have to try them out for yourself!

I started with the basic rectangle as per the sketch and Sunburst Framelit cut it. I stamped and punched my clouds. Nothing special. But, I also punched a line of Silver Foil for the ‘silver lining’ of the cloud, adhering it just under the cloud bottom. Pretty simple.

And, the sentiment from the same set, I stapled it to the card. I like stapling – it’s trendy! It adds a casual look. It’s an easy, no adhesive alternative!

So, you like my creation? Have I inspired you? Why not join us at Try Stampin’ or not On Tuesday? Or, on our Facebook page to link up a creation. We take entries there too!

You know, it’s good ‘card carma’ to take a moment leave a comment!

Easter Egg Burst

Got a sweet Easter card to show you today – yes. straight to the point –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Suite Sayings, Ovals Collection Framelits, Sunburst Thinlits, Easter

It’s sooo pretty in person!

I used the Ovals Collection Framelits, largest scalloped one, as a base. I had cut three sunburst out and used just the inner pieces in a pattern. I could actually have made three at one time too, but I didn’t. I did save those scraps…

I combined Whisper White and Very Vanilla in this card for something a little different. The stamped sentiment worked perfectly in the Oval framelit too.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Suite Sayings, Ovals Collection Framelits, Sunburst Thinlits, Easter

The bright are fun for Easter. The lighter colors are problematic to photograph sometimes. But, nonetheless, you still see a very lovely card!

So, you’ve come this far in my post. You should practice good ‘card carma’ and leave a comment.

Bursting with Sunshine

Bursting with sunshine – quite accurate for this card! I made this card shortly after I got this Sunburst Thinlits Die in. It’s one of my favorite items from the Occasions Mini.

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Hello, Sunburst Thinlits, Perfectly Artistic DSP, Metallic Foil Doilies,

I had it and a few other cards in a basket at the Card Buffet. Just about everyone picked it and loved it! Maybe this will be on next months Buffet?

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Hello, Sunburst Thinlits, Perfectly Artistic DSP, Metallic Foil Doilies,

I cut the rays from the Sale-a-Bration DSP, Perfectly Artistic. It has sort of a watercolor look on one side of the paper. The Metallic Foil Doily adds a nice addition to highlight the focal point. And, of course, this ‘hello’ really stands out.

This was the first version of the card.

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Hello, Sunburst Thinlits, Perfectly Artistic DSP, Metallic Foil Doilies,

I tweaked it a bit. Either is nice!

Now, it’s cloudy here. This card is some faux, much-needed sunshine!
