Happy Christmas, Past the Gate

It’s Watercooler Wednesday challenge day! Mid-week. This was a much-needed break from creating for a holiday fair I’m participating in on Saturday.

Today we have a great challenge to get you thinking –

14441090_10209922977286441_2266254766570185586_n

Love the fact Gail chose this idea. When was the last time you created an interesting fold?

Personally, I’ll play around with new folds that I come across, but, rarely do they make the cut for me.

Until………Until, I created this card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

It’s just simply S W E E T !!!!!

It’s a Twist Gate Fold card. NOT my original idea – I came across it on Splitcoaststampers. And, I just had to try it!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

As it starts to open….it looks a little funny, or ‘off’.

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

But, as you can see, fully opened, it’s pretty stinkin’ sweet! It does not want to lay flat because of the special fold.

I love, Love, LOVE, it! I’d like to make a few more of these! It was too much fun!

Wouldn’t you agree? Please leave me some kind words. I’d love to read them!

Then, see what other nifty folds the other Design team members created. Perhaps we have sparked your creativity to play along with our challenge this week!

Christmas Blog Hop for TSOT

It’s Tuesday. And, it’s another BLOG HOP!!! Yippee! These are way too much fun!

This is for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday. I know. Normally, I just have my Design Team card, this week, we have a blog hop! With prizes!! So, you might have come from Sara’s blog.

We will have our normal sketch challenge that everyone will be creating with! This is the sketch –

Sketch #295. Optional Theme : Christmas, Dimension

I love, Love, LOVE this layout!

I created this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, This Christmas DSP, TSOT, blog hop

Simply stunning, right?

Christmas. Check.

Dimension, here you go –

I added a ribbon bow and raised the layers with actual dimensionals.

Dimension. Check.

Overall, it’s just a pretty sweet card! Looking closely at it, you can see where I outlined the letter in a Stardust Gelly Roll pen. Those are wonderful!! Add such a nice touch of glimmer.

Did you like it? Please leave a comment. In order to be eligible for blog hop prizes, we’d like you to leave a comment on everyone’s blog. The next person to check out is Krafty Kaylin.

You can also play along with our challenge as well! You can do that on the Try Stampin on Tuesday blog or our Facebook page.

Wacky Watercooler October Blog Hop

Finally made time to join this wonderful blog hop again, the Wacky Watercooler!

2016-october-banner

Our theme is fall, of course!

I created a nice little array of items.

The first is a simple, elegant card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, Gold Foil, Thanksgiving card

Love these colors together! Very elegant and classy!

The third is a wonderful interactive card –

libbystamps, stampin up, slider card, Kraft Rope Trim, Layering Ovals Framelits, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cookie Cutter Halloween

Pull up on the viewable area to see this –

…and did you see that the adorable main focal image moved up to?

Lastly, I always make some sort of Gratitude Journal for myself and as a Card Buffet item around this time. Here is the one for this year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Seasonal Frame Thinlits, Copper Foil, Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bags, Vintage Leaves, Leaflets Framelits, Season Frame Thinlits

Inside it has 10 sheets of paper to notate what you are ‘grateful’ for. This is one of our Tag A Bag Gift Bags folded over and decorated.

I would love to read what you think about my Blog Hop projects before moving on to the next blog! And, if you attend my Card Buffet this weekend, you may or may not see these projects again, just sayin’!

Thursday already! September is almost over. Yikes! One last Create with Connie and Mary for the month!

This week, we have a nice color challenge –

ccmc426

Great colors, don’t you agree?

I wasn’t really sure what direction I wanted to go with these. I have been trying to incorporate more stamping in my cards and I did just that with this design –

libbystamps, stampin up, Vintage Leaves, Suite Seasons, Layering Ovals Framelits, CCMC426, fall

Of course, I also have fall on the brain too!

I stamped the leaved in a row randomly. I decided a basic card layout would work best.

libbystamps, stampin up, Vintage Leaves, Suite Seasons, Layering Ovals Framelits, CCMC426, fall

I added the sentiment from Thoughtful Branches, although these leaves are from the set, Vintage Leaves, the work quite well together!

And, as an added bonus, this could be given to a guy as well! A great masculine card!

I’d love for you to leave me a comment. Then, go see what the other Design Team members created at Create with Connie and Mary. Perhaps you’d like to try out our challenge this week? You should! It’s open for a week!

Supplies used –

  • Stamp Set – Vintage Leaves, Suite Seasons
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Basic Grey, Dapper Denim
  • Ink –Tangerine Tango, Basic Grey, Dapper Denim
  • Big Shot – Layering Ovals Framelits
  • Other – Thick Whisper White Bakers Twine

Sweater Comfort, WWC

Sorry. It’s been a few days since you’ve seen my creativity.

But, it Wednesday and time for another wonderful challenge from Watercooler Wednesday!

WWC logo

The host this week is Kathe!

And this is her fabulous sketch to play with –

14067525_10209588594527081_8526994627756662268_n

These are always good ones! Masculine. Love these because these truly are a challenge to create.

I decided to kick it up a notch with my masculine theme.

What if you had a guy friend who was dealing with something and needed a little extra support?

Well……how about sending this to show support –

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, Layering Circles Framelits, Mini Stapler, WWC, masculine

Isn’t this nice?

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, Layering Circles Framelits, Mini Stapler, WWC, masculine

It uses the nifty new Cable Knit Dynamic EF that looks as cozy as a real sweater!!

It’s fabulous! So detailed!

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, Layering Circles Framelits, Mini Stapler, WWC, masculine

I paired it with another product from the Holiday Mini, Suite Seasons. These two products worked sooo well to create the perfect masculine comfort card!

I think any guy would love to receive this! What do you think?

Supplies used –

  • Stamp Set – Suite Seasons
  • Card Stock – Dapper Denim, Sahara Sand
  • Ink – Dapper Denim
  • Big Shot – Cable Knit Dynamic EF, Layering Circles Framelits
