Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Saying Goodbye

Time for another hop around the creative side with a Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Today, our theme is about saying goodbye to retiring Stampin’ Up products.

Of course, my list is long, but I kept it super short and sweet for this post.

I went with a Christmas favorite that’s retiring –

libbystamps, stampin up, Snow Place, Snow Friends Framelits, Fruit Stand DSP, Falling Petals EF, CCMC Blog Hop

This cute little fun set, Snow Place stamp set and the coordinating,Snow Friends Framelits are both retiring.

This embossing folder, Falling Petals, the Designer Series Paper, Fruit Stand (yes, a non-Christmas paper for a traditional Christmas card!!!), and the thick bakers twine are all leaving us as well. I’ll miss the stamp set and framelit bundle the most.

We have so much talent on our team. Check them out to see what their favorites are and what you can not live with out before its gone for good.

For You, Snowman!

Got a quick card slash gift idea I created for Create with Connie and Mary this week!

We have very pretty colors as our inspirational start for the week –

ccmc438

I love these colors! So many different ways you could go with them. But, I chose to go with a winter or could be Christmas themed card –

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC438, Snow Friends Framelits, Gently Falling Embossing Folder, Jar of Love

See,winter, but, could be Christmas, but, doesn’t have to be!

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC438, Snow Friends Framelits, Gently Falling Embossing Folder, Jar of Love

And. Bonus. It’s a gift card holder!!!!

I love to whip these up. Basic measurement is 4 1/4 x 11. Scored at 1 1/2 and 7. Fold up. Use tear & tape to secure. Fold down. Done. That easy, really!

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC438, Snow Friends Framelits, Gently Falling Embossing Folder, Jar of Love

I added a bit of dimension for a little pizzaz!

These are super quick and easy to make a bunch and have in your stash! Use the snowman cut out for another card too!

So, what do you think? I’d love to read your comments!

And, I’d love for you to take time out for your crafty self – just a little – and join us at Create with Connie and Mary this week! You won’t regret it!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Jar of Love
  • Card Stock – Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Whisper White
  • Big Shot –  Snow Friends Framelits, Gently Falling Embossing Folder,
  • Ink – Basic Grey
  • Other – Silver Foil, Tear & Tape

Snow Way, it’s Wednesday Already?

Why yes. Yes, it is!

And time for a Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!

This time our host is Penny! This is what she challenges us with –

A wonderful sketch I must say!

I did have to think about this one. And in no time, I came up with this sweet number –

libbystamps, stampin up, Snow Place, Snow Friends Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, WWC97, Christmas, snowman

Clean. Cute. Simple. Wintry. Easy.

libbystamps, stampin up, Snow Place, Snow Friends Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, WWC97, Christmas, snowman

I added the sparkly black glimmer paper that has long since been retired, but I had a scrap to make a hat from! Waste not, want not, right? Same thing with the red foil scarf too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Snow Place, Snow Friends Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, WWC97, Christmas, snowman

For the tie, I once again found a piece of retired soft whisper white baker’s twine. This was great stuff!!! It’s really inbetwwen the two twines Stampin’ Up now carries.

I must say, I love how this turned out! What do you think? I’d love to read your comments!

And, check out what the other design team members created at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and play along with us!!!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Snow Place
  • Card Stock – Whisper White
  • DSP – Candy Cane Lane
  • Big Shot – Snow Friends Framelits
  • Ink – Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  • Other – Basic Black Glimmer Paper, Real Red Foil, Whisper White Soft Baker’s Twine

Snow Adorable!

Got a really cute one today.  I was inspired by a few blogs.

I like the clean simple layouts at Global Design Project. I just haven’t taken the time to play along until now. Here is their sketch  –

Nice, right?

And, great colors can always be found at Pals Paper Arts

PPA-283-Jan14

So. How did I combine the two? I really liked the Snow Friends Framelits. Why not make a Valentine themed card with them –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, PPA283, GDP018, Snuggles & Smooches Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Window Sheets, Go Wild DSP Stack, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Washi Label Punch, shaker card, Valentine's Day

Gosh, isn’t adorable??? And, it’s a shaker too!!!

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, PPA283, GDP018, Snuggles & Smooches Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Window Sheets, Go Wild DSP Stack, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Washi Label Punch, shaker card, Valentine's Day

Close up of my shaker frame. I made my shaker layers with a piece of Window Sheet, craft foam, and another Window Sheet. I used Tombow Liquid Glue to adhere the sheets to the foam. It works very nicely! Since this is a heavy card, my base is the Thick Whisper White Card stock. Much more supportive.

Such a fun card with lots of dimension, you agree?

I’d love to hear what you think!

Snow Way It’s a Paper Pumpkin

Yes. Another adorable card using this Snow Place Bundle.

Actually, these came first. While my daughter was here over the Thanksgiving break, she asked me if a had any cards made that had penguins on them. Of course I did not, but I whipped these up real fast –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Glittered Greetings Paper Pumpkin, Real Red Pompom Trim, penguin , Christmas card

Yes, the base is a former Paper Pumpkin Kit, Glittered Greetings. Cute, right?

This was the first card –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Glittered Greetings Paper Pumpkin, Real Red Pompom Trim, penguin , Christmas card

It is cute……but, this one –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Glittered Greetings Paper Pumpkin, Real Red Pompom Trim, penguin , Christmas card

This was my favorite. If I had more of these kits, I would have created lots more of these. Just adorable.

I’d love to hear what you think!

Snow Way It’s Christmas Already…..

It’s getting closer…..the time sure flies this time of year doesn’t it?

As I mentioned earlier, I have piles of cards lying around the house. I have different groups of people I make cards for. Either to mail or to give out.

Todays share is two things. A swap and a card for little girl who had a card request out. Please read her story here. It’s touching.

Here’s what’s going out –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Home for Christmas DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper, Black Glimmer Paper, Christmas card

Aren’t they adorable? I just loved the bunch of cards. Light, fun and festive.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Home for Christmas DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper, Black Glimmer Paper, Christmas card

The snowman is so glimmery –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Snow Place Stamp Set, Snow Friends Framelits, Home for Christmas DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper, Black Glimmer Paper, Christmas card

You can see him really good from the side. (Oh, so sorry for the blurry picture…..just seeing this and these are already mailed….) I think you get the idea though!

I like them because they were easy. It took me a while to come up with the idea, but once I did….I made them up quickly.
