Thank You, Thank you, thank you

Hello my Thursday friends!

You know its time for a Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

This week, we have a new layout –

Took me no time to pull out some soon to retire Stampin’ Up items to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Rose Wonder, Lots of Labels Framelits, Eclectic Layers Thinlits, Pick a Pattern DSP

Black and white are always a classic!

I started with creating my focal element, using the Lots of Labels Framelits. The flowers and leaves are from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. I will so miss both these versatile items!

As I adhered the while flower to the black base, I only added Tombow glue to the center of the flower so it stands away from the base.

The ‘thank you’ is from, also retiring stamp set, Rose Wonder. I inked it up and stamped it three times, not reapplying ink. (Looks like my stamp has some lint on it…..it happens!)

Everything was placed on a piece of Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, which was adhered to a Whisper White card base.

Quick. Easy. Elegant.

Check out the other Design Team cards at Create with Connie and Mary. I am sure you’ll be inspired! If you’d like to add a card to our challenge, you can do so on our Facebook page.

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Rose Wonder (retiring)
  • Framelits – Lots of Labels, Eclectic Layers (both retiring)
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Ink – Black Memento
  • DSP – Pick a Pattern (retiring)
Happy Stampin’

We Create – Last Chance Blog Hop

Hello stampers! Have you seen all items that Stampin’ Up is retiring? Sooo many awesome products!

We Create decided to have an impromptu blog hop!

Obviously, the theme is retiring products!

I had a hard time deciding just what to use……I went with a minimally stamped card using framelits!

libbystamps, stampin up, Sprinkles of Life, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Pick a Pattern DSP, Basic Black Bakers Twine, We Create

Isn’t this just the sweetest?!?!

After I framelit cut the word ‘friend’, I found this tiny ‘happy birthday’ from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. Since its photopolymer, its pliable, which made it easy to curve the image. I thought this was a fun addition to the oval ‘friend’. You agree?

libbystamps, stampin up, Sprinkles of Life, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Pick a Pattern DSP, Basic Black Bakers Twine, We Create

The inside is a pullout card that’d be perfect for a gift card!

I’m really sad to see these products retire. I wonder what the other designers are showcasing??? Check them out here –

Don’t be Square – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday!

Welcome the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features cards that are not square.

This is a cool idea!

I went with a framelit shape –

libbystamps, stampin up, Apron of Love, Lots of Labels Framelits, Pick a Pattern DSP, Whisper White 1/4 Organza Ribbon, CCMC

A very sweet Mother’s Day card!

I used some soon to retire colors, Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy. The Pick a Pattern Designer Series paper will be retiring too. The stamps are from Apron of Love.

Simply put together! And a great use of these framelits!

As my card was getting it’s photo shoot, someone else decided they needed to be in the shoot as well –

libbystamps, stampin up, Apron of Love, Lots of Labels Framelits, Pick a Pattern DSP, Whisper White 1/4 Organza Ribbon, CCMC

Lol!!! She is soo cute!

Curious to see other non-traditional shapes? Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll have some terrific ideas!!

We Create – April Blog Hop

Happy Easter! My second post on Easter today! Another blog hop! This one is for We Create.

Our theme is to create a card, then recreate it again, adding elements to ‘step it up’, make it fancy.

My other post today used the Whisper White Narrow Note Card & Envelops and retiring colors.

I decided to use the note cards again, along with Brusho Crystals Watercolors.

I started with the butterfly from Beautiful Day and made this card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Yay You, Beautiful Day, Brusho, Pick a Pattern DSP, watercoloring, We Create Resembles the retiring Dapper Denim, doesn’t it??

This butterfly was made a little more controlled and the colors are turned more vibrant –

libbystamps, stampin up, Yay You, Beautiful Day, Brusho, Pick a Pattern DSP, watercoloring, We Create

The piece of Designer Series Paper is thinner on this card is well. It’s from Pick a Pattern. Emerald Envy will be a retiring In-Color as well.

The sentiment is from a hostess set, Yay You. Perfect here!

libbystamps, stampin up, Yay You, Beautiful Day, Brusho, Pick a Pattern DSP, watercoloring, We Create

Hard to tell in the photographs, but the butterfly is adhered on the left side and is popped up on the right side. Yes, makes putting it in an envelope difficult. Just use a larger one.

As this is a continuous blog hop, check out the next designer, Kris, on the creative trail!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Beautiful Day, Yay You
  • Card Stock – Watercolor Paper
  • Ink – Black Memento
  • DSP – Pick a Pattern
  • Other – Brusho Watercolor Crystals

You’ve been Boo’d – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

What, about three (OMG) two more weeks until Halloween? Well, we’ve got lots of great ideas for you here on the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop for the next three Saturdays.

Our theme this week is funny, ‘you’ve been boo’d’! We are using the word ‘boo’ on our cards.

Not a problem. I’ve been wanting to use the Creep it Real stamp set a few more times before the month is up.

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Cat, Creep it Real, Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits, Pick a Pattern DSP,  CCMC

I just started stamping the word ‘boo’ and set it aside. Found some black and white Designer Series Paper from Pick a Pattern (it’s on special until the end of the month!!!) and looked for something that resembled ghosts.

I don’t have the Paisley Framelits, which make awesome non-ghost ghosts, but, I do have the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits. There is the Pick a Pumpkin bundle that has a gourd stamp and framelit. The framelit worked like a charm to create a little ghost! And, the eyes from the Spooky Cat worked soo good here!

I added the smallest Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the inside of the eyes for some added drama. It was indeed the right added touch!

So, for more added BOOness, go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Creep it Real, Spooky Cat
  • Framelits – Patterned Pumpkins
  • Card Stock – Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie (duh), Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White
  • Ink – Black Memento
  • DSP – Pick a Pattern (on sale)
  • Punches – 1 1/4″ Circle
  • Other – Black Rhinestone Jewels
Happy Stampin’

It’s Black & White, Hugs & Kisses

Happy Thursday to all! Ready to be inspired by another Create with Connie and Mary challenge? We got a new one –

Simple, bold layout.

I went with a black and white beauty –

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, This Little Piggy, Lovely Words Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Lovely Inside & Out Bundle, Pick a Pattern DSP, CCMC

It’s a square 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card. It’s a scrap I had ready to go! Don’t you just love that??

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, This Little Piggy, Lovely Words Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Lovely Inside & Out Bundle, Pick a Pattern DSP, CCMC

A sweet addition to this card is the little kisses behind the ‘hugs’. They’re from the, This Little Piggy stamp set. It was the perfect detail to add behind the sentiment. It was rather plain without it.

The other Design Team members created some lovely cards using this sketch, check them out on our Create with Connie and Mary blog. To link up a card to our challenge, you can do that on our Facebook page.
