Just take a look at these colors –

Fresh and fun, right?

I thought they were ‘rad’ –

So I created a Father’s Day themed card. As we know, that will be here soon too! The colors are great for a different look in a guy card.

I kept adding layers of colors from the, soon-to-retire, Gorgeous Grunge set. I’ll surely miss it. Luckily, I’ve gotten lots of use out of it!

Actually, all the sets in the card will retire! FYI, the hearts came from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set. It’s just fun to create with different sets and make them work!

Did you see the other Design Team cards? You should. They are terrific! I hope we inspire you to play along with us on Facebook!

Reindeer Jolly for CCMC

It’s Thursday and time for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary challenge.

This is sketch week –

ccmc433

What a terrific ‘go to’ sketch, you think?

I especially thought so after my design team card came together soo easily!

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC433, Cookie Cutter Builder, Triple Banner, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Oh, What Fun, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Isn’t this a great use of the sketch? The card just pops!

I love this Candy Cane Lane DSP – I have three partial packs of it left!! I also love green in my holiday mix of colors though. So I decided to combine Cucumber Crush with the Candy Cane Lane DSP!

As shown here, these colors go great together!! The little adorable reindeer helps! The addition of the red accents was a nice touch too. Sometimes you just need that tie in of color!

I think anyone would love to receive this for the holidays! I know I liked the card so much that I featured it on my Card Buffet this past weekend! I’d love to hear what you think of my ‘jolly’ reindeer!

Check out how the other design team members over at Create with Connie and Mary used this layout in their creations! I hope we inspire you to play along with us!

May Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to the May edition of the Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

This month our focus is on retiring products. Our favorite retiring products. Grab some coffee and get ready to pin some great things! And, grab the tissues too…..and, check your fun spending money as well – some things you may really need after hopping around with us.

If you are new to Stampin’ Up, every year before the new catalog comes out, items retire. First and foremost, In-Colors, paper, ink, markers, ribbon…..we all know it. We all expect it. We even grumble and hoard because of it.

I wanted to maximize what I showed. So, I made this adorable Fry Container. Yes, the die and the Corrugated Paper its made from are retiring. And, the Spiral Flower, leaves (Bird Builder), Tag, Scallop Circle and ribbon – retiring, all of them. Whew.

Now, what’s in the Fry Container? Cards! Mini cards! Five of them –

I made these all monochromatic. One per retiring color.

The Note Tag I used earlier on the box front.

The Washi Tape along each tag, it’s in a set of all five colors. Retiring, but, hey it’s on sale!

The stamps I used on each card tag front is from Something To Say. It’s a fabulous set because it has inside greetings too! Few sets have that. You gets lots for your money.

The background stamping on all the cards is from Perpetual Birthday Calendar – a very nice underrated set. It’s so versatile! Sadly, retiring as well.

I did staple the tags together with a piece of In-Color Thick Baker’s Twine. It was from last years Sale-a-Bration. I adhered these with Dimensionals to the 2 x 3 cards.

January Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Happy 2016!!!!!!!

And, welcome to the January Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

January starts the new year and always thoughts on starting something ‘new’.

I wanted to keep track of memories and important thoughts throughout the year. So, I made a box of perpetual journaling cards for the whole year –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Project Life Day to Day, Project Life Remember This, Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Perpetual Calendar

365 hand stamped cards. I also made a box to store them in –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Project Life Day to Day, Project Life Remember This, Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Perpetual CalendarI attempted one of these last year…..let’s just say, this years turned out way better. And, this time, I finished all of the journaling cards! The key to making one of these projects is to be organized and work in small groups.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Project Life Day to Day, Project Life Remember This, Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Perpetual Calendar

I started with stamping twelve of each number to represent the days of the month. I tried really hard to stamp in about the same place on each one. Some were off a bit. That’s ok. It is supposed to be a hand stamped project after all.

I left them in twelve piles. One had numbers up to 29, the others stopped at 30 or 31, depending on the month.

Next, I stamped the month along the side. It was easy to lay them out and stamp several right after one another. The Stampin Pierce Mat really helped to get an even impression each time.

Then, I left them stacked and added the 16 to represent the year on the opposite side. Surprisingly, it went quick!

Not sure if I will stamp the years, 17, 18 and 19 now or wait until I start my journaling. Who knows, I might have lots to say or minimal.

The box, I ended up just making my own because I didn’t have one to accommodate the large stack of cards.

I used a different stamp set for the months on the tabs. The font matched nicely.

My box pattern is a piece of card board (the backer sheet from 12 x 12 DSP) is 9 x 11 1/4. Scored with the 9 at the top at 2 1/2 and 6 1/2. With the 11 1/4 at the top, score at 2 1/2 and 8 3/4.

The dividers are 6 x 4 1/2.

The index cards I used were 4 x 6. (I picked those up at the Dollar Store.)

I really liked how this turned out. 2015 was a great year of travels, milestones and memorable events I wished I had recorded in some way. I am looking forward to a great 2016 and remembering  the events!

Please leave a comment. I’d love to read what you think!
