Blogging Friends Blog Hop – December – Christmas/Hanukkah/New Years

December??? Where has this year gone??

Welcome to the first post for today! This one is a Blog Hop too for Blogging friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

Our theme this month is Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year!

I decided to create a quick treat holder to cover both Christmas and New Year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Paper Pumpkin, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, treat holder, BFBH

I used the Acetate Card Boxes from the Holiday Mini and cut them in half. I inserted the card stock and added a flap with velcro to keep it secure.

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Paper Pumpkin, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, treat holder, BFBH

This is what the insert looks like. After I cut and scored it, and added the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and to the outside of the flap so it’s visible when closed.

Kind of cool how the candy matches the paper perfectly!! I’m making more of these as soon as I finish this post! How about you? You going to give these a try?

Before heading over to talented, Jessica, please leave me a comment. I love hearing from you!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – November – Fall/Thanksgiving

Happy November 1st and a happy Blogging Friends Blog Hop morning! I’ve missed the past couple of months! Glad to be back!

Busy day for me. This is the first of three posts today. Around 7:00 am, another blog hop and a regular post.

Our theme this month is Fall/Thanksgiving !

This is very fitting as it’s taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things with all that has happened. I am grateful to be back!

Every year at my Card Buffets, one of the choices has been some sort of Gratitude Journal. This year will be no different. I created a simple, elegant one using the October Paper Pumpkin from Stampin’ Up –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layered Leaves Paper Pumpkin, October 2017, Paper Pumpkin

These were the little pillow boxes included in the kit. I left them seamed on one side and trimmed them down on the other sides. I added paper to the inside stamped with leaves from the set. Simple. Elegant. Easy.

Here is what the kit looked like –

Watercooler Wednesday – 141 Heidi’s Masculine Anything Goes Challenge

Time for some masculine cards for Watercooler Wednesday!

We always need masculine ideas! Those seem to be the most difficult to create.

I am trying to go through my Paper Pumpkin stash and use some of the kits. I created this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Bold Botanicals kit, Paper Pumpkin, Paper Pumpkin August 2106, WWC

Guys like to know they are appreciated too! So, a thank you card was more than winner!

This card is from the Bold Botanicals kit from August 2016. Currently, I can feature a class using this kit. I just repurposed some the pieces to create the design. Here is what the kit looks like –

PP_Thumb_BoldBotanicals_0816

I do love these monthly subscriptions, just like with lots of my Stampin’ Up products and other craft stuff- I don’t get around to playing as much as I should or need to!

How about taking a look at the other Design Team members cards. Everyone uses a variety of products and techniques, so you get to see lots of different and terrific ideas. Then, after we inspire you to create a card, you can link it up on our blog!

One in a Melon

Happy Friday to all!

Playing around with the June Paper Pumpkin kit today! It’s a fabulous kit!

Look at the cuteness I created –

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, One in a Melon, June 2017, watermelon

I modified the bag in the kit to create a watermelon card.

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, One in a Melon, June 2017, watermelon

Look when you open it. The inside is just like the inside of a real watermelon!!!libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, One in a Melon, June 2017, watermelon

I used the included tissue paper to do this. So cute!!!!

This card was completed by all supplies included in the kit. The only thing I added were the three rhinestones for some bling!

TODAY only, you can subscribe for just $5.00!!! It’s normally, $20!! Awesome savings!!!

What a deal!! Click on the above icon or SUBSCRIBE to take advantage of this offer.

It’s a Sara Thing for a Stampn’n Chat

I am hosting a home workshop today. How fun will this be!

I decided to use the April 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit, It’s a Sara Thing for the event. I did a little re-constructing of the kit to have everyone create 3 cards and a box to put them in – all from the kit!

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, It's a Sara Thing, Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Dragonfly Dreams, watercoloring, envelope gift bag

Isn’t this a nice spread?

I used the additional Dragonfly Dreams bundle and a set (the envelopes) of Notecards & Envelopes Stampin’ Up carries to create the ensemble. I trimmed each full size card to 3 1/2 x 5. I wanted the cards to fit in the bag!

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, It's a Sara Thing, Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Dragonfly Dreams, watercoloring,

For this card, I trimmed the watercolor paper down to accommodate the 3 1/2 x 5 card size. It still works just fine! I also trimmed the interior piece to match it. It’s also adhered with washi tape.

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, It's a Sara Thing, Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Dragonfly Dreams, watercoloring, envelope gift bag

This watercolor piece I didn’t have to trim at all. It was the perfect size! I scribbled the watercolor down the from then added the strip of dragonflies. The inside piece mimics the outside in size and placement.

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, It's a Sara Thing, Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Dragonfly Dreams, watercoloring, envelope gift bag

I didn’t trim this pattern paper either! When adhered to the card front, I did move it all the way to the edge to appear as it was actually wider with the additional black stripe! I trimmed the sticker paper to fit between the lines. The inside white piece is edge to edge as well.

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, It's a Sara Thing, Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Dragonfly Dreams, watercoloring, envelope gift bag

The little bag is my favorite part. It was the starting point for the whole set! When it’s not tied closed, all the cards fit nicely inside! This was made from an envelope from the kit! Can you believe it!?!?!?! Stay tuned for the simple tutorial.

libbystamps, stampin up, Paper Pumpkin, It's a Sara Thing, Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Dragonfly Dreams, watercoloring, envelope gift bag

Paper Pumpkin Birthday for Robin

Happy January 2nd to you!

And that means a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend Robin!

img_0816We had a blast painting these master pieces!!!

I had to made just the right card!

I decided to take all the Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin kits I had (I had a lot of them) and USE THEM! I made Christmas cards with one of the styles of cards and the other style I decided to create birthday cards for my friends!

This is my design –

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta, Many Manly Occasions, Paper Pumpkin

I mass produced these as well, like the Christmas cards.

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta, Many Manly Occasions, Paper Pumpkin

I had to match the thicker, non-SU bakers twine. I think these colors work nicely!

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta, Many Manly Occasions, Paper Pumpkin

And open, the card has a nice split of (retired) silver glimmer paper on the inside.

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta, Many Manly Occasions, Paper Pumpkin

Makes for a cool see through effect and you have a space to write on!

I just love the way these turned out! They were quick. The result is glitzy. My friends will feel the love in my hand made card!

Just who will be the next recipient????

Please leave a comment – everyone loves to read a nice heartfelt comment!

By the way, this card base came from a previously received monthly subscription called Paper Pumpkin from Stampin Up! You, too, can receive these monthly kits and get your creativity on! Each kit comes complete with everything needed to finish the projects. (Mine were embellished here.)

Happy Stampin’

Christmas Blessings on Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve. I hope the holidays are everything you wish for and more.

This is not always an easy time of the year for everyone.

This is a short post for part of the cards I made to send out this year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Wonderful Winterland, Christmas Pines, Paper Pumpkin, November 2016 Paper Pumpkin

These mainly went out to friends and my stampin’ buddies! Although, it was very hard to decide who got what!

Thank you, Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription kits and refill kits!!!!

I love this elegant card! So much dimension! I added the card to a full card base for the WOW factor here.

Happy thought to all during this holiday season!
