Going back to the card for this week……I was inspired by a box of 1940’s reproduction ornaments I picked up on Friday. Fun, fresh, interesting colors! And, lots of glitz!

libbystamps, stampin up, Oh What Fun, Winter Wonder EF, CCMC, Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver Foil

I started with a Silver Foil panel, adding different sized strips of Powder Pink, Crushed Curry, Tempting Turquoise, and Berry Burst. I embossed that panel with the Winter Wonder folder them heat embossed the sentiment.

libbystamps, stampin up, Oh What Fun, Winter Wonder EF, CCMC, Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver FoilThe rhinestones were a nice touch of added bling – as if the Silver Glimmer paper wasn’t enough!

This is a sweet, fun, nostalgic card for me. I think it will go well with all the ornaments I just bought! I can’t wait to gift them together!

Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired!

Happy Christmas Challenge

I’ve been searching for creative inspiration today and ran across two challenges that got me to creating!

The first was from Paper Players, PP372

The other was a color challenge from Just Add Ink #387

Two awesome starting points to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Oh What Fun, Card Front Builder Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Be Merry DSP, PP372, Just Add Ink

Simply beautiful, correct?

I used a variety of thinlits to create this. The bright, shiny gold comes from the Watercolor Christmas Project kit (it’s the envelope liners). I love how noticeable it is.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Oh, What Fun
  • Framelits – Card Front Builder, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Mini Treat Bag (bow)
  • Card Stock – Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
  • Ink – Cherry Cobbler
  • DSP – Be Merry
  • Other – Watercolor Christmas Project Kit

Christmas Make’n Takes

Tuesday I showed the swaps from our Team Meeting on Monday. Thursday I shared my swap. And, today, I’m sharing our projects we created!

Nice that we made a variety using different items!

This first swap was great because I don’t have this Snowflake Sentiments Bundle –

libbystamps, stampin up, Snowflake Sentiments, Swirly Snowflakes, Snowflake Sentiments Bundle, Everyday Label Punch

It made for a beautiful card. This intricate die takes patience.

This was a really fun fold for a Christmas card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Carols of Christmas, Hang Your Stocking, Merry Little Christmas

It used some of my favorite Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini, Merry Little Christmas. Opened up, it’s really pretty too –

libbystamps, stampin up, Carols of Christmas, Hang Your Stocking, Merry Little Christmas

Sentiment is from the Hang Your Stocking.

The last project was a really quick, easy and very cute idea –

libbystamps, stampin up, Oh What Fun, Tags & Trimmings, Quilted Christmas DSP stack, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Mini Pizza Boxes, Holly EF, Stitched Felt Embellishments

Mini Pizza Box treat holder with a belly band!

libbystamps, stampin up, Oh What Fun, Tags & Trimmings, Quilted Christmas DSP stack, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Mini Pizza Boxes, Holly EF, Stitched Felt Embellishments

Of course, a little inside decor too!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Snowflake Sentiments, Carols of Christmas, Hang Your Stocking, Oh What Fun, Tags & Trimmings
  • Framelits – Swirly Snowflakes, Stitched Shapes Framelits

Watercolor Wednesday 129 – Libby’s All About Christmas Challenge

It’s Christmas in July for Watercooler Wednesday.

…..and, it’s also my hosted challenge!

I had a Card Buffet last Sunday and one of the favorite cards was a watercolor card. I decided to use the idea and create a Christmas card with this technique –

libbystamps, stampin up, Eastern Beauty, Oh What Fun, watercolor card, Christmas Card, WWC

To create this lovely background, I damped the watercolor paper generously. I took one of our blocks and inked it up running it across the wet watercolor paper creating a nifty effect when dried. I used Real Red and Emerald Envy.

libbystamps, stampin up, Eastern Beauty, Oh What Fun, watercolor card, Christmas Card, WWC

Once dried, I stamped the circles from the Eastern Beauty stamp set. The sentiment is from Oh, What Fun.

Simple. Quick. Fun.

See the others Christmas in July cards on our Watercooler Wednesday blog. Create a card and join us! I’d love to see you play along with my challenge this week!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Eastern Beauty, Oh What Fun
  • Card Stock Emerald Envy
  • Ink – Real red, Emerald Envy, Watercolor Paper
