Sending Lots of Love

Happy Thursday! You know what that means!

Time for another fabulous card designed for Create with Connie and Mary and our new weekly challenge!

We are back to out alternating color and layout challenges. This week, some fabulous colors –

To compliment the colors, my card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Brushstrokes, Lots of Love, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, CCMC

Bold, fun, creative! I started with stamping the background using the Brushstrokes stamp in Tranquil Tide. I loved it, but once all the other elements were together, it was a bit too bold. A piece of vellum softened the stripes nicely.

libbystamps, stampin up, Brushstrokes, Lots of Love, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, CCMC

I added the stamped focal panel, then the addition of the heart strip, the ‘washi piece’ and the thin bow. All are from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. Perfect additions to the card tying in all the colors in the challenge.

You can see the other Design Team cards on our Create with Connie and Mary blog site for inspiration. Card link ups can be done on our Facebook page! Create a card and join us!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Brushstrokes, Lots of Love

Halloween is in the Bag

How’s your Halloween weekend going? Doing a little paper crafting this weekend?

Hopefully, all these Halloween cards have been inspiring to you!

I have a decorated Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Halloween style, to share today –

libbystamps, stampin up, Jar of Haunts, Everyday Jars Framelits, Halloween Night Baker's Twine, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits

Isn’t this just the cutest? I really loved these Jar of Haunts when I first saw them in the Holiday Mini catalog. Of course, I just has to have them! You know that feeling….

This little treat bag would be great for a little note, a gift card, and of course, edible treats!!

And yes, another project from the September Card Buffet. (Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to see my monthly board.) As you can see, I don’t always get around to posting the projects as I would like to!

‘Tis the Season to Cozy Up to Christmas

No, not really. In fact NOT AT ALL.

However, Christmas cards are fun to create. And, it’s never too early to get your ideas and supplies together and get them done and out-of-the-way!

I had my monthly Card Buffet this past weekend. It was a great turn out and all the projects were very much enjoyed.

However, one of the cards featured didn’t quite work out as designed. I get new stuff in and create with it and I don’t test the tools/dies out past that – just for the one card, made twice. Well………one of the dies didn’t work out using it a third time. Or fourth,  or fifth…..you get the point. It was awful! And, frustrating to say the least. But, it happens. better here in a class than at home as a customer.

I salvaged the supplies. I took what was left and used them for swaps that were way over due! I did do a little redesign too.

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, swaps

Yes, they are very similar to this card. That was the one on my Card Buffet, all very vanilla and Copper Foil.

But, being so frustrated, I went in a slightly different color direction. See –

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, swaps

The colors are stunning, they scream ‘traditional Christmas’ to me.

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, swaps

This Cable Knit Folder is absolutely gorgeous and great for non-Christmas cards too.

Just remember to mist with water and alcohol to soften the fibers before embossing it. It can tear it if not.

The tiny bow from the original card is what was giving us such grief. However, this one which was even thinner – I had no problem cutting and releasing from the die at all! Did all seven cuts in minutes!

I’d love to read your thoughts on this card!

Seeing it here, it just might make my annual Christmas Card Class!

Wacky Watercooler May Blog Hop

Welcome! It’s time for the Wacky Watercooler May Blog Hop!!!

May 2016 Banner

You may have come from the talented Marsha Reed’s blog. If not, I’m glad you are joining us. This weekend our hop will have three projects.

I decided to go with a fun, whimsical masculine theme in addition to the three projects –

ONE. Something that is retiring I will miss.

Mine is the basic shaped framelits and basic shaped punches. There is just too many to work with here or to list. I created this card with a few of my favorites – the larger circle framelits and a few of the handheld basic shaped punches.

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

This card is a 4 inch round card, made using the Circles Collection Framelits.

I made the ‘cake slice’ using the retiring Scalloped Oval Punch, Chevron Punch, and the Cherry On Top Washi Tape. I used the retiring Something to Say Stamp Set (oh yeah, it’s on SALE). Here is a tutorial how to make this cake slice.

TWO. Masculine project, made with retiring or carryover items.

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

I made this card using retiring the Circles Framelits, Cherry On Top Washi Tape, and again, the Something to Say Stamp. The card stock and D A D stamp will carry over (whew!).

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

And, of course the coordinating inside. It’s just too cute not to show.

THREE. New, upcoming item or a carryover that we really like.

Well, I have not done a pre-order (I know, what’s up with that?). So, I went with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used the same  D A D carryover stamp set, Party with Cake, and added the also carrying over set, Timeless Textures. The Triple Banner Punch and Stapler – yep – carrying over!

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

The pull out for the bag. Can’t forget that! It’s just as cute. Great to add a gift card or little treat on the card too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

So, again, a nice spread of fun, whimsical, coordinating ‘manly’ items here. All the fussy cutting…….ahhhh…..I love it! Fussy cutting is therapy for me!! Lol!!

Gifting Giraffe

Ha. Ha. Too cute.

I made this a long time ago but just recently gave it. So, I waited to post it.

As I said before, I really love the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. It’s so versatile!

I made a little gift bag here –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, stampin up, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Zoo Babies Stamp Set, Lullaby DSP, Hello Honey 5/8 Quilted Cotton Ribbon, gift bag, baby gift

Isn’t it adorable?

With the remaining parts I made a coordinating card.

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, stampin up, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Zoo Babies Stamp Set, Lullaby DSP, Hello Honey 5/8 Quilted Cotton Ribbon, gift bag, baby gift

I like to try to use everything!

To make this little bag, I cut 2 of the larger pieces of the treat bag. You only need to add a small strip at the bottom of the bag.

It’s just super easy.
