It’s all in the Card

I have a quick share today. I know, a posting on a Friday, how special is that????

Last weekend I celebrated a milestone birthday. When I got back from my birthday trip to New York, I had two lovely handmade surprises in my mailbox!

One from a dear, talented friend, Charlene, who helps keep me in business!

Painted Glass, Graceful Glass DSP, Stained Glass Thinlits, Painted Glass Bundle, Layering Circles Framelits

Charlene created this using the Painted Glass stamp set, Stained Glass Thinlits, and the Graceful Glass Designer Series Paper. It’s just a beautiful card.

The other handmade card was from a fellow blogging friend, Crystal –

It is simple adorable! It’s not created with Stampin’ Up products. And, I’m not sure what she used to create this ‘souper cool’ card. Either way, it made my day to receive these!

Go make someones day and mail a card! You never know what positive impact you’ll have!

THANKS again Charlene and Crystal!

Heartfelt Gratitude

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

We have a nice challenge to get you creatin’ today –

I was inspired to create a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card by this sketch.

libbystamps, stampin up, A Big Thank You, Layering Circles Framelits, Tea Room Specialty DSP, Petal Burst EF, CCMC

……and, I wanted to play with the Tea Room Specialty Paper! It’s a bargain as you get 24 sheets in the pack. They are thinner, perfect to create envelopes and use as envelope liners. Or on a card as I did!

I took one of the papers that had large flowers on it and cut one of the flowers out, yes, I cut it by hand! One of the coordinating papers became the background.

I chose some colors for accent and framelit cut a circle. It looked nice after I Petal Burst embossed it. The sentiment is from A Big Thank You.

We have some wonderful designs at our Create with Connie and Mary blog. Check them out! Create something and show us on our Facebook page.

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – A Big Thank You
  • Framelits – Layering Circles
  • Card Stock – Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight

Love What You Do Bundle – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy May 5th!!!!

Playing with new stuff for Create with Connie and Mary and our Saturday blog hop.

Our theme this week features the Love What You Do Bundle.

It will be in the upcoming catalog, but is available for purchase now. It’s a really pretty suite of products. You can see them here.

I went with a brighter card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Love What You Do, Got To Have It All Bundle, Layering Circles Framelits, Share What You Love DSP, Rich Razzleberry 1/4 Velvet Ribbon, Pearlized Doilies, Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, CCMC, Stitched Shapes FramelitsThe colors in this suite are absolutely gorgeous!

My base here is Rich Razzleberry. I layered on the new color, Grapefruit Grove, then a piece of the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper.

It’s hard to see, but the Grapefruit grove was embossed on the ends with the Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.

We are all creating cards using the suite pf products! You’ll be so inspired! Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. They’ll have awesome creations!

I just love these simple sketches! Love them!

Paper Folded in Half

Hello my Thursday friends!

I have a wonderful card created for Create with Connie and Mary and our newest color challenge –

Lovely colors!

And, I used them to create this lovely birthday card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Wit, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Circles Framelits, Sweet Soiree DSP, Balloon Builder Punch, Journaling Pens, CCMC

Fun, colorful! A card suitable for anyone – young, old, male, female!

I started by stampin the greeting in two colors, Old Olive and Calypso Coral. I hand cut Happy Birthday from one of the images. The other one, I framelit cut close to the words. That way, adding the Happy Birthday, it’ll hang over the edge!

I added those to a Whisper White card base with a full 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Designer Series Paper on the front. The balloons added a nice ‘birthday’ touch!

Check out the other Design team cards on our blog. Want to create a card and show off your work? You can do so on our Facebook page. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

We Create – March Blog Hop

My third post for today, Three Post Thursday, is another blog hop for We Create.

Our theme is to create a card, then recreate it again, adding elements to ‘step it up’, make it fancy.

I made this card last week for a card challenge –

libbystamps, stampin up, Cool Treats, Layering Circles Framelits, Metallic Enamel Shapes, Sweetheart Embossing Folder, We Create

It was a total hit! I loved it sooo much that I wanted to feature it on my Card Buffet for February. However, the 6×6 pack of Designer Series Paper wasn’t quite enough for a whole class.

The whole card front uses most of a 6×6 page. This is both sides of the paper, flipped.

I came up with this modified idea –

libbystamps, stampin up, Cool Treats, Layering Circles Framelits, Metallic Enamel Shapes, Sweetheart Embossing Folder, We Create

Equally as adorable too! And, I was able to get more cards for the four sheets I had!  Everyone who wanted to make the card was able to! Yay!

The top of the card’s texture is made from the Sweetheart embossing folder. The pie covers the flat heart portion! That texture resembles the polka dots – perfect!

The adorable pie was created using a Sale-a-Bration folder called Basket Weave. You can can get that free from me by placing a qualifying order. I’d be happy to help you with that.

Another nifty tip, the heart was gold and I colored it using a Blends marker! Instant matching!

libbystamps, stampin up, Cool Treats, Layering Circles Framelits, Metallic Enamel Shapes, Sweetheart Embossing Folder, We Create

Not sure which one is cuter! Both I think!

As this is a continuous blog hop, check out the next designer, Kris, on the creative trail!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Cool Treats
  • Framelits – Layering Circles
  • Card Stock – Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Whisper White

  • Punches – Mini Flag (retired)
  • Other – Sweetheart EF, Cherry Cobbler Blends, Metallic Enamel Shapes

Sweet as Pie

Thanks for dropping by today!

I have a quick and cute card designed for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday. It’s Tuesday and time for a new challenge –

Challenge #357. Optional Theme : Shaker Card

I made a simply sweet card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Cool Treats, Layering Circles Framelits, Tutti-Frutti 6x6 DSP Stack, Basket Weave EF, TSOT

Although it’s not a shaker card, it’s still delightful as can be!

The newest Sale-a-Bration embossing folder makes a really realistic looking pie!  It was so fitting for the sketch!

Check out the other Design Team cards on our blog or Facebook. You can also create a card and join us in either place as well! We love to see your ideas from our sketches!
