Blogging Friends Blog Hop – May – Retiring Favorites

May first and before we know it, the new catalog will be here. This is the first of two blog hops for the day!

In honor of the current catalog ending, we will say farewell to some of out favorite Retiring Products. This post is all about retiring products. A few that I really liked out of several that are retiring!

I created five 4×4 cards to share. No particular order. libbystamps, stampin up, Nailed It Bundle, Nailed It. Build It Framelits, Sending Love DSP

From the Occasions Mini, the Nailed It bundle sold out as soon as it went on the retiring list. I just love it – so versatile and a masculine set for once! I paired it with the Sending Love Designer Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, Stylish Stems Framelits, Special Reason, Pop of Pink Specialty DSP

This Stylish Stems Framelits was my favorite flower framelit, also from the Occasions Mini. The coordinating Special Reason stamp set was ok, not my favorite as the words are too small. Of course, I purchased both of them. This paired well with the (soon to retire) Pop of Pink Specialty Designers Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, T-Shirt Builder Framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, Custom Tee, 2015-2016 In-Colors

Of course, the In-Colors are always sad to see leave. At least they are around for a couple of years! My favorite color was the Cucumber Crush! I used the T-shirt Builder framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, to create this. These are also from the mini. I liked the ‘Happy Stamper’ stamp. That is SO usable for us!

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta Bundle, Birthday Fiesta, Fiesta Time Framelits, Festive Birthday DSP, Llama

From the large, main catalog. The Llama. Who does not love a llama? Who? This was an awesomely cute bundle! The designer series paper was pretty cool too.

libbystamps, stampin up, Fresh Fruit, Fruit Stand DSP, pears

The last stamp set I’ll share is the Fresh Fruit. I loved this. It was simply sweet.

libbystamps, stampin up, Gorgeous Grunge, Banners Framelits, Layered Letters Alphabet, 12x12 Kraft Card Stock, box

Lastly. The 12×12 Kraft card stock will no longer be available. I created (from scratch) a nifty box to hold all these cards. And, yes, the Banners Framelits, the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the Layered Letters Alphabet will not be in the upcoming catalog either. Gorgeous Grunge? I got so much use from this set!

libbystamps, stampin up

Whew. That’s a lot of retiring stuff! And, I didn’t even touch the tip of all the things I really loved from the 2016-2017 catalog. Not too sad though. Can’t be. Lots of new, wonderful items coming our way. If you feel compelled to need any of these or other items, please order here.

So, this is a blog hop, before heading over to talented, Mary Blocher, please leave me a comment.

Happy Giving Thanks Day

That’s right, Happy Giving Thanks Day! Conveneintly, it’s a Create with Connie and Mary challenge Day too!

This week we have a color challenge –

A very pretty selection of colors to create with!

I went with a Thanksgiving card using these colors –

Cherry Cobbler, Gold and Crumb Cake.

Something simple an elegant!

I used  a masking technique to stamp the words for the background. In testing out ideas for this creation, I guess I got Cherry Cobbler ink on my ‘day’ stamp……still looks good!

Off to celebrate with family Giving lots of Thanks for family. My mother-in-law from Holland was able to join us! So grateful for that.

Please check out what the other designers have created at Create with Connie and Mary. Try to take some time for yourself to be creative this week and join us in our challenge.

Coffee, Tea…or Me?

Lol, I’m sure some of you might know that tagline!!!! It was from an airline in the 1960’s.

This week at Watercooler Wednesday, we have another Simply Stampin’ challenge –

This one is from Heidi and you have to feature coffee or tea.

It was way more difficult than I thought because you are limited to one layer with no additional die cuts, embelishments or anything. Just stamping.

So. I thought about it.

And thought about it.

After reading the theme numerous times, it hit me what I should create.

This –

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC94, Designer Tin of Cards, Layered Letters Alphabet, Timeless Textures, Writing Notes

Adorbs, right?

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC94, Designer Tin of Cards, Layered Letters Alphabet, Timeless Textures, Writing Notes

It really is only one layer with stamping.

Nothing else. At all.

What person wouldn’t love to receive this as a little ‘love’ note?????

I’d love to read what you think about this throwback card!

Now that I got you to thinking about this sketch, create something and join us Watercooler Challenges.

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Writing Notes, Layered Letters Alphabet, Timeless Textures, Designer Tin of Cards (tiny heart trio)
  • Card Stock – Whisper White
  • Ink – Soft Sky Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede

Good Luck Today, TSOT

Every two weeks its Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday for me. And, it’s that time again. (Although, quite honestly, everyday is a stampin’ day for me!)

Our Challenge #287 this time around is this –

Theme : School Days.

Many of you have already gone back to school. However, some are just now starting college or homeschool classes. That’s who I had in mind for my card today –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layered Letters Alphabet, Sprinkles of Life, Tree Builder Punch, TSOT287, back to school

Just simply a fun, bright card to share today!

I love using simple elements and colors. This was a perfect way to go here.

I thought the apples looked nice with the added touch of the dimensionals. Yes, I know, apples are not orange. However, going the other way the colors just didn’t work.

Whip ones of these up for someone needing a little extra encouragement for a day! It will really be a boost for them for the day!

And, leaving me a comment is too!!!!

You can play along with Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday on Facebook or by clicking on the blog name. We’d love to see you join us!

It’s a No-Brainer, You Got This

Funny title, right?

I needed to make a card for a care package. You know, college finals. Quarter system. It’s tough. But, with my nifty cards and my delightful box of snacks and drinks – it’s all the better!

I came up with this card. It’s just so fitting for my daughter –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, stampin up, Pomp & Circumstance, encouragement, Layered Letters Alphabet

I loved it. And, she loved it. Along with the snacks too!

I mixed old with new here. The ‘brain’ comes from a retired graduation set, Pomp & Circumstance. I’m so glad I kept this set too. You never know…….

……..the alphabet just came out in the new 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up Catalog.

I chose to go with UCLA’s school colors. It just made sense.

I’d love to hear what you think?
