Watercooler Wednesday 131 – Kath’s All About Birthdays Challenge

Happy Wednesday my friends! Time for a challenge from Watercooler Wednesday.

We have a can’t miss challenge this week from Kath –

….because we always need birthday cards. And, we are always creating them!

I was in a watercolor mood going with this bright beauty –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Watercolor Paper, Pick a Pattern Washi Tape

Isn’t it pretty??

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Watercolor Paper, Pick a Pattern Washi Tape

Very easy too. I used a clear block smeared in ink on wet Watercolor Paper to get the background effect. I used two alternating colors. Let it dry and then added the washi tape and the framelit sentiment. No stamping either! Can you believe it?

This worked best adhering the Watercolor Paper onto Thick Whisper White card stock once dry. The regular was way too flimsy and curled with the thickness of the Watercolor Paper.

The Melon Mambo bow is retired ribbon, but it was perfect here.

Everyone created a different style of birthday card at Watercooler Wednesday. Check us out and link up a card. It’s too easy not too!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – none!!!
  • Framelits – Happy Birthday
  • Card Stock – Thick Whisper White, Watercolor Paper
  • Ink – Melon Mambo, Peekaboo Peach
  • Other – Pick a Pattern Washi Tape
Happy Stampin’

Watercooler Wednesday 130 – Gail’s Feminine Anything Goes Challenge

Happy Wednesday my blogging friends! Time to create for Watercooler Wednesday!

Our challenge today comes from Gail –

These are the best challenges. Almost all of our cards we create are for women! So you have no excuse not to join our challenge this week!

This is what I’m sharing for the challenge –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Softly Falling EF, Tree Builder Punch, WWC

Bright. Fun. Clean. Simple.

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Softly Falling EF, Tree Builder Punch, WWC

My inspiration and color choice came from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. That’s what I used to create the candles. It was a scrap from one of the papers I had. Worked perfect for this candle idea. The flames are created using the Tree Builder Punch.

So. You going to join Gail’s challenge this week and submit a card to Watercooler Wednesday? We’d love to see you there! You can also view the other Design Team cards there too.

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – none
  • Framelits – Happy Birthday
  • Card Stock – Berry Burst, Soft Sky, Basic Grey, So Saffron (candle flames)
  • DSP – Naturally Eclectic
  • Punches – Tree Builder
  • Other – Softly Falling EF, retired Stampin’ Up ribbon
Happy Stampin’

Watercooler Wednesday 127 – Judy’s All About Birthdays Challenge

Been a few days since I posted. Good to be back. I’m sharing a card created for Watercooler Wednesday.

Our theme this week was chosen by  Judy  –

Everyone loves a good birthday challenge! I went with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Birthday, Balloon Builder Punch, Color Theory DSP, Pretty Label  Punch, WWC, gift card holder

A fun take with this Happy Birthday thinlits set. I separated it to do a little something extra with it! I placed it side by side. The DSP I used the same sheet, just reversed one of them to use the other side!

Also super fun because it’s a . . . . . . . . . . .

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Birthday, Balloon Builder Punch, Color Theory DSP, Pretty Label  Punch, WWC, gift card holder

Gift card holder!

I used the standard size card. I just scored, folder over, punched and adhered the flap to create a pocket for the gift card! So easy!

Check out what the other Design team Members created at our Watercooler Wednesday blog. Create a card and join us!

Our theme this month is perfect – watercoloring!

This is not one of my stronger areas in card making so it was fun to be challenged with this.

I went with patriotic colors again creating these –
libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Large Numbers Framelits, Wood Crate Framelits, Patriotic, BFBH, watercolor, red white & blue

Of course, a festive 4th card! I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits and just cut them apart! Paired nicely with the Large Numbers Framelits.

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Large Numbers Framelits, Wood Crate Framelits, Patriotic, BFBH, watercolor, red white & blueAnd believe it or not, people have birthday on July 4 as well! Lol! I went with a birthday card too also using the Happy Birthday Thinlits!libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Large Numbers Framelits, Wood Crate Framelits, Patriotic, BFBH, watercolor, red white & blueI created the watercolor background easily. This is a fool-proof method.

I placed the watercolor paper on paper towels. I dampened it with a spray bottle of water. I took a clear block and smeared it the ink pad and partially ran it across the wet paper. I cleaned the block and repeated the step in a different ink pad color over the uninked area of the wet watercolor paper . The excess water and coloring that pooled on the edge, I gently wiped off. I let it dry then completed my cards.

Pretty stunning, right? This method made bold watercolor images once dried. I did try a few different techniques.

Before heading over to talented, Mary and her watercoloring, leave me a comment. You know, I’ve got blog candy for a lucky person!!!Continue on Blog Hop Icon

Watercooler Wednesday #122 – Libby’s Feminine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

Taking a pause from Open House planning to create for a Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

And, guess what? It’s MY challenge this week! YAY!! Yippee, happy dance!

This will be SO much fun! Excited to see what you create to join me this week. Here is my inspiration past the picture –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, , Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Birthday Thinlits, feminine card, WWC

We have SO many great products in the new Stampin’ Up catalog. This bundle, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, is one of my favorites!!!

It’s a single framelit with a coordinating stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous. The stamp set has lots of great words and flowers and balloons! As a matter of fact, I used it over the weekend too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, , Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Happy Birthday Thinlits, feminine card, WWC

What I love about this – the background stamping. I added four of the flowery images to a block and just started randomly stamping. They just fit in so perfectly! Helps being a clear, photopolymer stamp too.

I double cut the sentiment and glued it to look shadowed. It helped to make it *pop* a bit more.

Clearly, a nice ‘feminine’ styled card.

See what our other Design Team members created and join us! Remember, it’s ‘Anything Goes’.

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Happy Birthday Gorgeous
  • Framelits – Happy Birthday
  • Bundles – Happy Birthday Gorgeous
  • Card Stock – Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White
  • Ink – Memento Black
Happy Stampin’

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Blue

Welcome to another fabulous blog hop with  Create with Connie and Mary!

sp15sathopwelcome

Our theme today is our favorite blue! We have some nice shades of blue, so this is sort of difficult to choose!

I’m going with the classic, bright, Pacific Point –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Balloon Bouquet, Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon

I showcased using the Happy Birthday Thinlits.

The balloons are stamped from the coordinating stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous. It’s also such a cute set!

I am loving this new ribbon as well! Looks like the threading on a baseball! Super soft too!

We all have a ‘favorite blue’! Check out the other Design Team favorites!
