Watercooler Wednesday #120 – Gail’s Christmas Challenge

Time for a Watercooler Wednesday challenge featuring a little JOY –

Yup. It has come. Christmas in…….MAY!!

I’ll admit, I was a bit stumped to create a Christmas card without much fresh, new Christmas products. I combined some old, some current and some upcoming to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Holly Berry Happiness, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Merry Tags Thinlits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Gold Foil, WWC

And, yes, it did bring me JOY when it was finished! It is quite lovely in person – foil cards never photograph well.

libbystamps, stampin up, Holly Berry Happiness, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Merry Tags Thinlits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Gold Foil, WWCI hope you have enjoyed the May Christmas inspiration! You should see what the others designed! Some great ideas! Perhaps we have inspired you to pull out your old and newer stuff to join us in our Christmas card challenge this week!

Finally made time to join this wonderful blog hop again, the Wacky Watercooler!

2016-october-banner

Our theme is fall, of course!

I created a nice little array of items.

The first is a simple, elegant card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, Gold Foil, Thanksgiving card

Love these colors together! Very elegant and classy!

The third is a wonderful interactive card –

libbystamps, stampin up, slider card, Kraft Rope Trim, Layering Ovals Framelits, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cookie Cutter Halloween

Pull up on the viewable area to see this –

…and did you see that the adorable main focal image moved up to?

Lastly, I always make some sort of Gratitude Journal for myself and as a Card Buffet item around this time. Here is the one for this year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Seasonal Frame Thinlits, Copper Foil, Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bags, Vintage Leaves, Leaflets Framelits, Season Frame Thinlits

Inside it has 10 sheets of paper to notate what you are ‘grateful’ for. This is one of our Tag A Bag Gift Bags folded over and decorated.

I would love to read what you think about my Blog Hop projects before moving on to the next blog! And, if you attend my Card Buffet this weekend, you may or may not see these projects again, just sayin’!

July Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Well, another month has passed! Time to receive lots of craftin’ goodness from me in a couple of posts for the day. This one is the Blogging Friends Blog Hop.

Blogging Friends Icon

Our theme this month is S U M M E R !

For me, that’s a little hard! Our summers here are humid scorchers! And, unless you live in Texas, you’ll never quite understand just what I mean….

I created two cards that are bright and fun and remind me of summer. This first one goes without sayin’ –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Gold Foil, Silver Foil, BFBH, Sunburst Thinlits, summer

Remember, I said scorcher! Gold foil Sunburst with the new Layering Circles Framelits. It’s a no-stampin’ card because, well, there’s no stampin’ here. The sentiment is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits (currently, my favorite).

When I cut this, I placed the foil good side out to get a reversed burst here. I also glued down just the center and used Dimensionals on the edges for depth. Hard to photograph, but, it’s there.

Then, the other thing that comes to mind for summer is beautiful flowers. The real kind that require little hydration! So I used the same Sunshine Wishes Thinlits to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Gold Foil, Silver Foil, BFBH, Sunburst Thinlits, summer I also used foil, silver this time to create the flower. I cut two out and over lapped them. I adhered then to Melon Mambo card stock and cut them out. It makes for a stunning flower using the same Layering Circles Framelits for the center. It’s simple. Bold. Elegant. Fun.

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Gold Foil, Silver Foil, BFBH, Sunburst Thinlits, summerSo. Two gorgeous, clean and simple cards for the ‘summer’!!!

This is a ‘blog hop’, which means you ‘hop’ from one blog to another. Everyone has created some fabulous projects. Please leave me some good ‘card-carma’ in the form of a comment. Then, hop on over to see what the others have created.

Just Tag It

I had a box of stuff that needed to mailed out. You know, one of those warm up winter boxes. I always like to include a little handmade somethin’ somethin’ in the box.

Instead of a card, I decided I’d make tags instead.

I used a new stamp set from the new occasions Mini catalog, Balloon Celebration. It was THE perfect choice! From the tags, you can guess just why and what was sent –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Balloon Celebration, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Gold Foil, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch, tags

Aren’t they just the cutest?

After I stamped the Very Vanilla, I felt the tag needed a little extra ump……I thought the cupcake liner from the Cupcake Builder Punch would be just the right added touch. I just placed it upside down so the scallops were visible a little. A sweet little gold peek.

Those balloon strings…….I adhered the Baker’s Twine to the back of the balloons. To get the wavy string look, I glued it in place with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Tricky, but it can be done!

Now I can put these in the box and get it mailed.

I’d love to read what you think.

Look Who’s Turning……

25. That’s right. Guess who has a special birthday today? It’s Crystal!

Happy Birthday Crystal!!

I went to my trusty pins to find something that appealed to me. I liked these two as a starting point.

One is from Paper Pals Arts, a color challenge –

 PPA242

And the other is the layout from Try Stampin’ On Tuesday

Both are way cool. And, together – totally awesome.

After some thought and rummaging through all my papers I came up with this –

libbystamps, Hooray It's Your Day, Circles Collection Framelits, Stacked With Love DSP, Gold Glimmer Paper, Gold Sequin Trim, Typeset Alphabet I must say, I love how it turned out! Don’t you agree? See it opened –

I had the layout all together with all the colors set. The tricky part was using the Circle Framelits to cut the circle out. It was a bit thick. But flipping it over and cutting it out again, I made it work.

The 2 and 5 are from the retired die, Bigz Alphabet Typeset. A tad bit larger than I liked, but it worked nonetheless.

So, the whole point of this card and this post, is to wish you, Crystal, a very Happy 25th Birthday!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Congratulations

Simply title. Not so simple card.

This was one of the cards from my September Card Buffet. I forgot to share it.

libbystamps, Dotty Angles, Bravo, Gold Metallic Baker's Twine, Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape, Four Feathers, Feathers Framelits

I love this color combination. The gold tones work really well with the Island Indigo. Don’t you agree? Brushed Gold card stock with the Gold Foil – nice, nice, nice!

I had been excited to try the Dotty Angle stamp set – it was perfect for this card. Especially, stamped vertically next to the Washi Tape. The sentiment from the Bravo set – stamps so well! I was skeptical at first about these stamps. Not anymore.

The feathers just add a fun element, Ties everything together.

This card, it speaks for itself.

I’d love to hear what you think?
