Blogging Friends Blog Hop – December – Christmas/Hanukkah/New Years

December??? Where has this year gone??

Welcome to the first post for today! This one is a Blog Hop too for Blogging friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

Our theme this month is Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year!

I decided to create a quick treat holder to cover both Christmas and New Year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Paper Pumpkin, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, treat holder, BFBH

I used the Acetate Card Boxes from the Holiday Mini and cut them in half. I inserted the card stock and added a flap with velcro to keep it secure.

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Paper Pumpkin, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, treat holder, BFBH

This is what the insert looks like. After I cut and scored it, and added the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and to the outside of the flap so it’s visible when closed.

Kind of cool how the candy matches the paper perfectly!! I’m making more of these as soon as I finish this post! How about you? You going to give these a try?

Before heading over to talented, Jessica, please leave me a comment. I love hearing from you!

Create with Connie and Mary – Non-Traditional Christmas

Shout out to Katheryn from Illinois who called as I was writing this post. She was calling asking about this daisy I had added to some Rhinestones for special gifts. I love hearing from people about projects! Nice talking to you!!

Back to the post. . . . . .

Almost fall. Almost Halloween. Thanksgiving. Christmas will be here in a blink of an eye. This year is flying by.

Saturdays are set aside for a Create with Connie and Mary blog hop.

Going back to Christmas. Our theme this week is Non-Traditional Christmas.

This is a good one for the time of years it is. Although the stores have already bombarded with all things Christmas!

I went with this image from Watts of Occasions –

libbystamps, stampin up, Watts of Occasions, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, nontraditional Christmas, CCMC

A lightbulb is about as non-traditional as you can get! And, these colors too. I just love this set for its whimsey!

libbystamps, stampin up, Watts of Occasions, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, nontraditional Christmas, CCMC

I stamped it twice in different colors and cut the tree out. The enamel dots are retired and just balanced the color nicely!

It’s simple and right on with a non-traditional Christmas card.

Check out the other the other Design Team members non-traditional cards –

Create with Connie And Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Christmas in July

Happy, happy, HAPPY Saturday!! It’s my birthday! Which is sort of like Christmas in July for me. Hubs and kids always treat me soo well!

And, it’s time to blog hop with Create with Connie and Mary!

I pointed out my birthday is like Christmas in July because Christmas is also the theme of the blog hop today!

Of course, I have no new Christmas items to show off, so I went with one of my favorite, current, stamp sets, Christmas Pines. I also used this stunning color combo again, Soft Sky, Cherry Cobbler, and Tranquil Tide. I used it on Friday as well. I just can’t get enough of it!

See how well these colors work together –

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, CCMC, Christmas

This card has lots of dimension too! It gives it a real elegant touch!

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, CCMC, ChristmasIn my stash, I found this super soft retired Soft Sky baker’s twine. Sure glad I kept it!

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!!!

Got a festive card designed for Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

Theme : Dainty and neat.

Well, I believe I got the neat part down. The dainty, I don’t know about that. I created a card to celebrate the 4th –

libbystamps, stampin up, Number of Years, Large Number Framelits, Stars Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP

Terrific card, right?

I miss the designer series paper stacks we had in color families. I did found this nice shade of Dapper Denim pattern paper from the Eastern Palace Specialty papers we currently carry. I love the way it looks with Cherry Cobbler.

libbystamps, stampin up, Number of Years, Large Number Framelits, Stars Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP

It makes for a very nice festive card wouldn’t you agree?

You can see what the other design team members created on our Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog or on our Facebook page. You can also link up a card on either place too.  Join us – it’s so much fun to participate in card challenges!

Lemon Lime Wonderful Friend

Time to CASE another idea from the catalog for Create with Connie and Mary!

This is what we are going by this week. A fun sketch and great colors!

I pulled out a new In-Color, Lemon Lime Twist as my starting point to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Dragonfly Dreams, Flourish Thinlits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Petal Burst  EFI combined it with the Flourish Thinlits. It made the perfect accents!

libbystamps, stampin up, Dragonfly Dreams, Flourish Thinlits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Petal Burst  EFThe sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams. I felt I needed a longer sentiment to match the sketch.

As you can see, my supplies are all over the catalog! Something from this bundle or that suite. Put together, it all work well to create a cohesive look! You don’t always have to have everything!

You can see what the other created on our blog. To link up with our challenge, please check out our Facebook page.

Supplies

  • Stamp Set – Dragonfly Dreams
  • Framelits – Flourish Thinlits
  • Card Stock – Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White, Dapper Denim

Watercooler Wednesday #121 – Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday everyone! Time for a wonderful challenge from Watercooler Wednesday!

As you can see, this week we have an ‘Anything Goes’ challenge. This is great after the week I’ve had!!

I chose to show off a card from my May Card Buffet

libbystamps, stampin up, Eastern Beauty, Eastern Beauty Bundle, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Layering Circles Framelits, WWC

It showcases a new product suite,Eastern Palace, that is available now and the products will be sold individually in the upcoming new catalog.

libbystamps, stampin up, Eastern Beauty, Eastern Beauty Bundle, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Layering Circles Framelits, WWCThe focal image was stamped in the two colors. I was able to use two dies and cut with one pass for the outer line and the inner semi-cut line! Pretty cool these dies.

This card also uses a new in-color too, Lemon Lime Twist!!!

Come see what the other designers created and join us this week! After all, ‘Anything Goes’ applies to just about any card you can make!
