Bold & Bright Colors – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy holiday weekend! Thanks for taking time out for the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Our theme this week features Bold & Bright Colors.

This is so fun since Stampin’ Up is introducing new colors officially June 1st!

I decided to mix old with new for this summerish beauty –

libbystamps, stampin up, Abstract Impressions, Petal Burst EF, Daisy Punch, Petal Pair Embossing Folder, Petal Burst Embossing Folder, CCMC

The newest color on here is Pineapple Punch, the bright yellow! Followed by Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay for some added interest.

These colors are definitely bright, bold and eye-catching!

The embossed panels added some dimension and interest to the card.

I’ll be featuring this card on my card Buffet on Sunday!

Go forward to see the bright fun Debbie Henderson has to offer, and back to Mary Brown’s inspirational color choice. I know you’ll be inspired by all the Design Team!

Y T & W

What??? I thought you’d think that.

New color downline color challenge. Yellow. Turquoise. White.

I went with a card I created a couple of weeks ago at a friends class –

libbystamps, stampin up, Daisy Delight, Daisy Punch, Daisy Delight Bundle

Something really cute, quick and simple. We used the Daisy Delight bundle. I originally just bought the punch thinking I did not need the stamp set. I have since purchased the stamp set. Grumble.

Carole was the only other one to join us this week. We are all in Harvey prep mode here!

Carole C. stampin up

As always, she created a stunning card! This was the shaving cream background. Such a forgotten favorite technique. This look is quite popular these days. Almost looks like watercolor!

She always take the time to decorate the inside too!

Well, back to riding, Harvey, the storm out! Lots of new stamps and framelits to play with…..if I could just come unglued from the TV and all the sensationalism and panic they instill in the viewers…..it’s mesmerizing. In lieu of Harvey, we will be taking a week break from challenges not knowing the course of the storm. See you back in two weeks.

Happy Stampin’

Sunday Share

I love to share my creativity with people. And, I love it when those I share it with share it back!

I get lots of messages from friends and class attendees that they used this new stamp set or finally used the framelits they got or borrowed. And, I say, send me pictures of things you create, copied or not. They always forget to take a picture…..I get it.

Well, I cherish the ones I do get. I recently got a birthday card from a dear stamper friend, Charlene.

I was in aw of it. See why –

Charlene B

It is simply gorgeous! The tree and the lion are dies. The background is sponged or brayered, I’m not sure!  I just love it!! Great idea to place the tree off the sunset panel! Just fabulous!

So, THANKS Charlene for sending such a beautiful card!

On a side note……I have been trying with this new stamp catalog round to give Stampin’ Up incentive gifts for placing a certain dollar amount order. This month I gave away the new Rhinestones and added a cute reusable tag / topper for the gifts –

These are just singles.

libbystamps, stampin up, Daisy Punch, Label Me Pretty, sunflower, card candy

Here, they are cutely attached to the package –

The washi tape and the Soft Suede scalloped flower are retired products. Glad to use a tiny pit of my stash to create these.

Best part, these are reusable!

I hope to have more Sunday Shares as I am trying to encourage people to USE their stuff! Don’t let it accumulate without ever touching it! Let me show off your project for you!

Happy Stampin’

Daisy, Congrats to You!

Hello stampin’ friends! Time to share a card I created for Create with Connie and Mary  and our newest color challenge that started today!

I pulled out the card stocks as a starting point. I always do with color inspirations.

After plying around with a few different ideas…..I settled on this –

libbystamps, stampin up, 2017-2018 Catalog, Banners For You, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Color Theory DSP, Daisy Punch, 1/2 Circle Punch, CCMC

Super adorable in person! The color balance is really nice here. You need it with these deep tones.

libbystamps, stampin up, 2017-2018 Catalog, Banners For You, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Color Theory DSP, Daisy Punch, 1/2 Circle Punch, CCMC

The Color Theory Designer Series 6×6 Paper Stack really help that balance of color. I couldn’t resist using the Daisy Punch either. I added a tiny ‘stem’ partially up next to the Designer Series Paper.

The leaves are from the Banners For You stamp set as well the sentiment and, of course, the banner!

This came together so nicely, I think I’ll have this on the Card Buffet this Sunday!

Did I inspire you with my colorful card? The Design Team did a great job with the colors this week. Check out their cards at Create with Connie and Mary .

To add a card to our challenge, simply link it up on our Facebook page.
