Watercooler Wednesday #119 – Judy’s Masculine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

It’s been a few days since I posted last.

Nice to spend some time designing for Watercooler Wednesday today! Our theme today comes from a new team member –

Welcome, Judy!!

I went with a fun, traditional color scheme –

libbystamps, stampin up, Celebrate Today, Happy Celebrations, By the Shore DSP, Balloon Bouquet Punch

…..and, some retiring Designer Series Paper, stamp set and some items carrying over!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, Celebrate Today, Happy Celebrations, By the Shore DSP, Balloon Bouquet Punch

The Designer Series Paper has lines that make it a little shaded or rough as you can see. When I inked up my stamp, I kept getting that same lines effect! Not really sure how – but it so worked for this card!

I just thought these colors were very guy-ish, summer-ish and just plain fun-ish! Ha, ha, ha!

What do you think? You can check out the other design team cards and link up a card to our challenge on our blog.

Sliding by Birthday Wishes, WWC83

I haven’t had the chance to post the past few day. Life. Crazy. You know that feeling…..

But, its Wednesday and time for another wonderful challenge to inspire you from Watercooler Wednesday!

This week, a challenge by Penny –

These Tic Tac Toe challenges are SO much fun!

…..but, so many choices. I actually made two lines from the choices in my card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Celebrate Today, Playful Palette, Balloon Framelits, WWC, Slider Card

Looks like an average card, right?

Well. Pull on the ribbon –

libbystamps, stampin up, Celebrate Today, Playful Palette, Balloon Framelits, WWC, Slider Card

Keep pulling –

Notice how the balloon goes up with the pulling!!

Scroll back up if you need to!

So. I got a diagonal down. Fun Fold. Birthday Theme. Die Cut.

And, a straight down the center. Balloons. Birthday. Banner.

The green I started with and that took the card here, but didn’t really achieve anything on the board!

I’d love to hear read what you think of this nifty fold!

Head on over to Watercooler Wednesday and join us! These Tic Tac Toe boards are soooo cool!

Supplies used –

  • Stamp Sets – Celebrate Today

  • Card Stock – Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla
  • DSP – Playful Palette
  • Big Shot – Balloon Framelits
  • Other – Daffodil Delight 1/4 Cotton Ribbon (R)

Celebrate Summertime

Ha! Ha! I have to laugh. Because not too many people want to ‘celebrate’ a Texas summertime heat. Where the temps reach 100 and so does the humidity!

However, many of you would like to celebrate summertime! As do the designers over at Nacho Average Challenges

That’s right. This is their current challenge and I just had to play along!

Summertime makes me think of sitting on a beach –

Celebrate Today, Sprinkles of Life, Tree Builder Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits, summertime, beach, NAC177

So, that’s where I went with my design.

Celebrate Today, Sprinkles of Life, Tree Builder Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits, summertime, beach, NAC177

I made my water a pretty torn Dapper Denim and Marina Mist blue. Had it been in Galveston’s water, it’d been brown.

Celebrate Today, Sprinkles of Life, Tree Builder Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits, summertime, beach, NAC177

I did kind of take a cue from our gorgeous Texas skies by adding the big fluffy clouds! The beach ball just seemed an appropriate ‘pop’ of color the card needed!

When I created this card, I used scrapped stamped images. For the life of me, I can not remember how cut out the word Celebrate out. It’s perfect – but I can not tell you why! But, it looks awesome on the card!
