“Every Rose Has It’s Thorns” – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Welcome to virtual musical filled Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features 80’s some titles again! This week, “Every Rose Has It’s Thorns”, featuring cards with flowers.

I literally am still singing this song as I create this post!!!

I went with this gorgeous Healing Hugs –

libbystamps, stampin up, Healing Hugs, Perennial Birthday, CCMC

Only this time I used it for a beautiful birthday card! Simply changing the sentiment stamp changed the feel of the card. I used Perennial Birthday.

I initially inked up my stamp in Poppy Parade and stamped the random roses all as a background. I did the same for the leaves using Garden Green.

I went to create a single rose for a fussy cut focal point and realized my pad was a way old linen Poppy Parade pad! I must say, it made for a great softer background but changed I it to the new style pad for the bolder look in the flower.

I also fussy cut the leaves too. And, of course, the banner after I stamped it.

I put the panels askew and added the sentiment and I was done! I love it!! I think I’ll send this to my mom next week for her birthday.

Go forward to check out Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll have some great

You……Are the Best

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

Today we have some great colors to challenge your creativity –

The colors are vibrant and fun together. And, two of them are new!

I thought of using the Tropical Escapes Designer Series Paper because those are the colors in that gorgeous pack, but, I went with something different –

Bokeh Dots, A Big Thank You, A Big Thank You Bundle, Thank You Thinlits, Polka Dot Basics EF, CCMC

Sometimes people just need to know how they make you feel. This is one of those cards.

I stamped the Bokeh Dots background first. Then, I looked through my stamps to see what caught my eye. I was struck by the A Big Thank You bundle.

It was perfect for this card!

I used tape to mask off the ‘you’ on the stamp before inking it up. I removed the taped, then stamped on the corner.

I framelit cut the Thank You sentiment, then cut off the ‘thank’, leaving just the ‘you’. Combined, I got just what I needed! And, a darling, sweet card too!

The last enhancement to the card was the Polka Dot embossed background and the bow!

Can’t wait to mail this out!

We have lots of great cards from our Design Team at Create with Connie and Mary. We love to see how you use these color too! Share them with us on our Facebook page.

“Sweet Dreams are Made of This” – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Let’s get movin’ and groovin’ today with our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

For the next month, we are going with an 80’s theme in our designs! Using song titles as our inspiration! I’m sure you can hear the song Sweet Dreams are made of this in your head now! I was singing it as I was writing this! Lol!

Our theme this week features baby cards!

Perfect because I needed to have a baby card on the Card Buffet this weekend!

I thought this was a really sweet set of animals and makes for a perfect baby card –

libbystamps, stampin up, A little Wild, Little Loves Framelits, 6x6 Neutral DSP Stack, Starburst Punch, 2" Circle Punch, Tailored Tag Punch, Subtle EF, CCMC, baby card, elephantThe colors are soft and great for either gender! Although, this is Petal Pink, it resembles a peach color to me! The Subtle embossing adds such a soft texture this card needed.

The stamp set was a carryover from the last catalog, A Little Wild. It’s great because you can make tags or toppers as it stamps front and back.

I finished it off with a little Baker’s Twine bow. It’s just perfect!

Go forward to check out Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll have some great

Hello

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

Isn’t this a great layout this week?!?! I love it!

In designing my card for this week, I realize that I can use more simple, everyday cards. So, I went with a ‘hello’ card today –

libbystamps, stampin up, Calligraphy Essentials, Share What You Love DSP, Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Marker, CCMCThis lovely ‘hello’ is from Calligraphy Essentials. When stamped, it stamps the outline of the word. It’s nice, but it needed to be a little bolder for this card. I took my Stampin’ Write Marker and just colored it in! I wanted a thicker, bolder look for the sentiment.

(Surprisingly, this color, Blackberry Bliss, is a returning color. Both my ink pad and marker worked perfectly after all these years and use in previous classes! Awesome our pads are so long-lasting!)

Oh, back to the card….the bold Designer Series Paper is the Share What You Love. It’s subtle, but a little bold too! I love it here.

I figured this would make anyones day to receive! I’ll make a few more and might even have this on the July Card Buffet.

As always, our Design Team creates some terrific cards. Check them out on the Create with Connie and Mary blog. If you want to show off what you made from our inspiration? You can do that on our Facebook page.

“Going Around in Circles” – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Let’s get movin’ and groovin’ today with our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

For the next month, we are going with an 80’s theme in our designs! Using song titles as our inspiration! I’m sure you can hear the songs in your head now!

Our theme this week features the use of circles on our cards…how inventive!

I used a couple of stamp sets and various shades of grays to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Bouquet Blooms, Eastern Beauty, Thank You Thinlits, CCMC

I started with the large circle image from the new Bouquet Blooms stamped in Gray Granite. I followed up with circles from the Eastern Beauty set, using Black Memento, Smokey Slate and Basic Grey.

The finishing touch was the ‘Thank You’ in Real Red.

A simply fun card!

Go forward to check out Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll get us movin’ to the 80’s with our ‘Going Around in Circles’ theme!

Favorite New Greeting – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday! As we close another month, where did the time go???

Speaking of time, it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features our Favorite New Greeting.

That’s like picking your favorite child!!! We have soo many great greeting!

I decided to go with a unique greeting –

libbystamps, stampin up, Healing Hugs, Subtle Dynamic EF, CCMC

This is a gorgeous new stamp set, Healing Hugs. It’s one of the Dist’Ink’tive stamps. The images look so real when stamped.

I stamped the flower in the new neutral, Merry Merlot, and fussy cut it out. The leaves are stamped twice in the returning color, Mossy Meadow. It’s also from the neutral family.

The card base is embossed with the Subtle folder. Perfect for adding just a little something to a card.

I think this will be a perfect card to send to someone not feeling so well! It will definitely perk them up!

Go forward to check out Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll have some great

Poppy Pool Party Friend

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

We’ve been ‘CASEing’ the new Stampin’ Up catalog for a few weeks now because there are soo many great ideas within its pages!

Here is our last catalog image to be inspired by –

Quite a pretty image!

I really felt the urge to use the (formerly known as) Oh So Eclectic Bundle.

libbystamps, stampin up, Oh So Eclectic, Love What You Do, Oh So Eclectic Bundle, Eclectic Layers Thinlits, Everyday Label Punch, CCMC

The image shows light stamping behind the main focal point. I thought the dies from the Eclectic layers were perfect as they emboss leaving a slight image, not cut! So it makes a nice impression on the card.

I also stamped the little plus signs too in the background.

I love how this card turned out. It’s not my typical style….but, sometimes we need to step out of our design box! I think it’ll be a big hit.

The other Design Team members at Create with Connie and Mary created some great cards too! Go take a peek.

Design your take on the sketch and link up here on our Facebook page.
