Banner Christmas

Thursday. Moving right into December!

Starting the month off right with a Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

As you can see, we have a nice layout to work with –

ccmc435

I decided to go vertical in my design just like the sketch –

libbystamps, stampin up, Time of Year, Layering Squares Framelits, Candy Cane Lane DSP, CCMC

I once again used the Time of Year hostess set, the banner stamp, and, the Candy Cane Lane DSP. I have lots of it. Still.

libbystamps, stampin up, Time of Year, Layering Squares Framelits, Candy Cane Lane DSP, CCMC

I also went with the Layering Squares Framelits to create my ‘cookies’ behind the house.

libbystamps, stampin up, Time of Year, Layering Squares Framelits, Candy Cane Lane DSP, CCMC

I added some dimensionals to give the house and sentiment a little pop! It really needed it because of house busy this card is.

I’d love to read what you think of the card design and how I used the layout.

Check out what the other design team members at Create with Connie and Mary created too! This is a fun sketch to play along with, so why not join us!?!?!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Time of Year
  • Card Stock – Real Red, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
  • DSP – Candy Cane Lane
  • Ink – Real Red
  • Bid Shot – Layering Squares Framelits

Christmas Tree Hearts

Happy Tuesday!

I am hoping you had a blessed giving thanks day! I know we sure did. Now, I am having to get into the swing of things. Again. The start of an even busier season!

I’ll start off with a design team card for Try Stampin on Tuesday.

We have a rather great sketch to work with again! See for yourself –

Challenge #299. Theme : Love the Season

It’s pretty classic. I knew right away how I wanted to use this.

libbystamps, stampin up, Time of Year, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Tree Punch, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Gold Fancy Designer Vellum, TSOT299

I created a pretty simple card for this layout.

libbystamps, stampin up, Time of Year, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Tree Punch, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Gold Fancy Designer Vellum, TSOT299

I started by punching the trees with the retired Tree Punch. I felt the card ‘needed’ something. So I went back and added the Vellum with the heart in the center. Sort of the perfect touch! And, goes with that ‘Love the Season’ theme!

libbystamps, stampin up, Time of Year, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Tree Punch, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Gold Fancy Designer Vellum, TSOT299

The sentiment and the Baker’s Twine were added according to the sketch. Perfect addition for a Christmas card.

It’s a lovely card that would be very easy to recreate to send out to multiple people!

I say you leave a comment and head over to the Try Stampin on Tuesday blog to see how the others used this sketch to inspire you! Which, I hope we did and you can join us and play along!

Wacky Watercooler November Blog Hop

Ahhhhh November! Just about a month away from Christmas. And, the perfect time to participate in the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!

2016-november-banner

We all have a great spread of projects to show you.

I created this nice holiday decor item –

libbystamps, stampin up, Red Foil, Detailed Santa Thinlits, Christmas frame

…..a sweet holiday frame using the Santa Thinlits and a Paper Pumpkin frame from a few years back.

I went a little non-Christmas with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Silver Foil, Large Numbers Framelits, Frosted Medallion, Candy Cane Lane DSP, date book, Bermuda Bay 1/8 Stitched Ribbon It’s a journal/memory keeper for the new upcoming year!

See it open –

libbystamps, stampin up, Frosted Medallion, date book

On the one side, the pages are preprinted to write in the date. On the inside cover I stamped a sentiment to remember and cherish special days.

libbystamps, stampin up, Silver Foil, Large Numbers Framelits, Frosted Medallion, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Bermuda Bay 1/8 Stitched Ribbon, date book

The added page marker is a nice touch too! I just adhered the ribbon with Tear & Tape to inside back cover.

Together it’s a great holiday pair to have in your stash of crafty goodness for the holidays!

Reindeer Jolly for CCMC

It’s Thursday and time for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary challenge.

This is sketch week –

ccmc433

What a terrific ‘go to’ sketch, you think?

I especially thought so after my design team card came together soo easily!

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC433, Cookie Cutter Builder, Triple Banner, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Oh, What Fun, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Isn’t this a great use of the sketch? The card just pops!

I love this Candy Cane Lane DSP – I have three partial packs of it left!! I also love green in my holiday mix of colors though. So I decided to combine Cucumber Crush with the Candy Cane Lane DSP!

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC433, Cookie Cutter Builder, Triple Banner, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Oh, What Fun, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Perpetual Birthday Calendar

As shown here, these colors go great together!! The little adorable reindeer helps! The addition of the red accents was a nice touch too. Sometimes you just need that tie in of color!

I think anyone would love to receive this for the holidays! I know I liked the card so much that I featured it on my Card Buffet this past weekend! I’d love to hear what you think of my ‘jolly’ reindeer!

Check out how the other design team members over at Create with Connie and Mary used this layout in their creations! I hope we inspire you to play along with us!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Oh, What Fun (it’s on sale!!!), Cookie Cutter Christmas, Perpetual Birthday Calendar
  • Card Stock – Cucumber Crush, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
  • DSP – Candy Cane Lane

Cottage Christmas Card for TSOT

Quick post today for Try Stampin’ or not On Tuesday.

Here is the sketch we are working with –

Challenge #291

Optional Technique : Weaving

This one was a real challenge for me!

But, I persevered and came up with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, TSOT, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Word Window Punch, Teeny Tiny Wishes

I am so pleased with the way this card turned out. The layout just had me soo stumped!

I kept playing around with these papers and colors……whew.

libbystamps, stampin up, TSOT, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Word Window Punch, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Another view to see the detailing.

libbystamps, stampin up, TSOT, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Word Window Punch, Teeny Tiny Wishes

And, yes, the little cottage is fussy cut! And, popped up on dimensionals for some added fun!

I’d love to hear what you think about my take on the sketch! Comments are always appreciated!

Step It Up Reindeer, We Create Blog Hop

This is the second blog hop and post you’ll be seeing from me!

Wahoo! Been a crafty little one lately!

e7ca1-wcbh2016

This is for We Create! Our theme we work with is to either create a card then step it up or create two cards using the same layout.

This time, I chose to create a card and make it twice using the same layout. Here is the fist one –

libbystamps, stampin up, We Create, Red Foil Sheets, Pom-Pom Trim, Festive EF, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Layering Ovals Framelits

It is sort of simple in design until you open it –

libbystamps, stampin up, We Create, Red Foil Sheets, Pom-Pom Trim, Festive EF, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Layering Ovals Framelits

It’s a gift card holder! And, it used the same size card stock as a regular card, it’s just scored differently!

The other card uses the remaining half of the Real Red card stock –

libbystamps, stampin up, We Create, Red Foil Sheets, Pom-Pom Trim, Festive EF, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Layering Ovals Framelits

It’s a way fancier front, but it uses the same basic layout.

Here, you can see the two next to each other –

libbystamps, stampin up, We Create, Red Foil Sheets, Pom-Pom Trim, Festive EF, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Layering Ovals Framelits

What do you think? You like? The cards are sort of stepped up and sort of stepped over!

I love both of them! The retired Red Foil Paper (it’s still on the Clearance Rack) and Pom-Pom Trim was a great added bonus here!

I’d love to read what you think before heading over to Julie’s blog to see what she created.

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Cookie Cutter Christmas
  • Dies – Layering Ovals Framelits
  • Punches – Cookie Cutter Builder
  • Card Stock – Real Red, Early Espresso, Crum Cake, Whisper White
  • DSP – Candy Cane Lane
  • Ink –Early Espresso
  • Big Shot – Festive EF
  • Other – Red Foil Sheets (R), Pom-Pom Trim (R)

October Catalog Favorites, Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Welcome fall! Cooler temps. Pumpkins. Rustling leaves.

……and the first of three posts! This is for Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

You might have came from Anna Masciovecchio to visit me.

Our theme this month is Mini Catalog favorites. As many of you have seen the Stampin’ Up Holiday mini catalog, it’s probably the whole book, right? Well, I had to narrow it down a bit.

My favorites would have to be some stamp sets, a punch, some of the DSP, the trims and the new foil.

I created a little holiday treat bag ensemble to show them off –

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits

Can you say,  A D O R A B L E ????

I made four bags that would be appropriate to use over the next few months for treats, small gifts or even a gift card!

They all have the same size wrap around band and a velcro closure. I also placed a firm piece of cardboard in the bottom to give the bag more stability. Measurements are at the end.

This first bag is really a fall/winter treat bag. It never really get that cold here for cable knit sweaters……..but, I love this Cable Knit Dynamic embossing folder to create the look of one!

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, Layering Circles Framelits, Copper Foil

I paired it with the new Copper Foil. It’s such a much have! Here a made a ‘button’ to show it off. Couldn’t you image hot chocolate or s’mores treats in this?? So so cozy!

The Halloween bag is pretty simple. So great for spooky treats!

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Halloween Night Specialty, Layering Circles Framelits

I used the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set in and the Cookie Cutter Builder punch. Because I used a blender pen to add some detail to the mummy, I stamped him in Staz On first then onto Shimmery White Card Stock. This paper works nicely with the blender pen.

For fall/thanksgiving, I went with this little detailed scarecrow on the bag –

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Serene Scenery, DSP, Layering Circles Framelits, Kraft Rope Trim

I used Serene Scenery DSP for this one. (It’s in the larger catalog.) I also used my blender pen and a few ink pads to color him in on Shimmery White Card Stock. He’s sooo cute! The new Kraft Rope trim helped to add lots of detail to his arms and legs. Looks like real straw, right?

The Christmas bag finishes off the ensemble

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Layering Circles Framelits

It’s nothing too fussy. By the time Christmas rolls around, no one has much time or energy to craft! It’s a simple stamped image detailed with a piece ribbon on the side.

Now that you’ve seen my treat bags, here’s how I created them.

Treat Bag Basic –

  • start with Kraft Tag a Bag Gift bags
  • remove 1/8th off the bottom to open bag up
  • on the bottom, score at 1 1/2, parallel to bottom
  • rotate twice, score 1 1/2 from top (the outer most part of the serrated curve)
  • parallel to the outer edge, cut 1″ up to score line
  • repeat for other side
  • fold ‘bottom’ score lines inward creating bottom
  • sides remain puffy to flat towards the top
  • fold down top score line
  • inside piece for the sturdy cardboard bottom 2 5/8 x 2

Bag Band –

  • 2 x 8 1/2 strip of card stock
  • 2 DSP pieces, 2 x 1 3/4 and 2 3/4 x 1 3/4
  • adhere to outside flaps

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Pretty simple? Please email me if you have any questions!

Now that you’ve seen a sampling of some of my favorites, head on over to Anne Power to see what her favorites are!
