Blogging Friends Blog Hop – February – Red

Happy first day of February and, happy Three Post Thursday!

My second post is a blog hop for a group of us we call ourselves, Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

As you can see, our theme is Red.

What a bold color to feature, and my favorite color by the way!

I love using as much as I can when I create. Here is the perfect example…..

First card –

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Petal Palette, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Mini Heart, Petal Pair EF, Everyday Label

And, my second card –

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Petal Palette, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Mini Heart, Petal Pair EF, Everyday Label

See how the two cards use the negative and the positive cut out? And, they both use similar elements.

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Petal Palette, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Mini Heart, Petal Pair EF, Everyday Label

Sentiment is from the same stamp set, Petal Palette, either framelit cut or punched out.

Both cards use the same embossing folder, Petal Pair. And, heart cut from the Lots to Love Box Framelits.

I hope you love these two cards and see just how to use all pieces when creating! Check out my other posts for today too – I have lots to share!

Blog hops are a continuous loop of blog that you travel to see their creations. Going forward, you’ll head over to, Mary, going back, you head to Crystal. Please take the time to leave a comment. I love hearing from you!

Blogging friends Blog Hop – January – Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Welcome to the first post of the year!!!! Whoop! Whoop!

As you can see, our theme this month is Baby, It’s Cold Outside.

Huh……that could mean anything! So, I went with the obvious and when it’s cold outside, I want to warm up inside. What better way to do that than with coffee or hot chocolate!

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Balloon Celebration, Coffee Cafe, Merry Cafe, Coffee Cup Framelits, Coffee Cafe Bundle, Tutti-frutti Cards & Envelopes

These are smaller cards meant to be left by the coffee maker as an invitation to join me for a warm beverage! I often do this – it lets others know they are loved!

I used some free (earned during Sale-a-Bration) Tutti-frutti Cards & Envelopes that I cut in half to make these smaller cards. The coffee mug on the left, I added a handle to the cup by using the framelit letter ‘C’. So easy! The other cup card is just a standard coffee cup framelit.

Sale-a-Bration starts January 3 and runs through March 31, 2018. For every $50 (USD) purchased, you will receive a free item of your choice from the Sale-a-Bration catalog! I’d love to send you a catalog – just ask!

Going forward, you’ll head over to, Mary, going back, you head to Anna. Please take the time to leave a comment. I love hearing from you!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – December – Christmas/Hanukkah/New Years

December??? Where has this year gone??

Welcome to the first post for today! This one is a Blog Hop too for Blogging friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

Our theme this month is Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year!

I decided to create a quick treat holder to cover both Christmas and New Year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Paper Pumpkin, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, treat holder, BFBH

I used the Acetate Card Boxes from the Holiday Mini and cut them in half. I inserted the card stock and added a flap with velcro to keep it secure.

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Paper Pumpkin, Layering Ovals Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Eastern Palace Specialty DSP, treat holder, BFBH

This is what the insert looks like. After I cut and scored it, and added the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and to the outside of the flap so it’s visible when closed.

Kind of cool how the candy matches the paper perfectly!! I’m making more of these as soon as I finish this post! How about you? You going to give these a try?

Our theme this month is perfect – watercoloring!

This is not one of my stronger areas in card making so it was fun to be challenged with this.

I went with patriotic colors again creating these –
libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Large Numbers Framelits, Wood Crate Framelits, Patriotic, BFBH, watercolor, red white & blue

Of course, a festive 4th card! I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits and just cut them apart! Paired nicely with the Large Numbers Framelits.

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Large Numbers Framelits, Wood Crate Framelits, Patriotic, BFBH, watercolor, red white & blueAnd believe it or not, people have birthday on July 4 as well! Lol! I went with a birthday card too also using the Happy Birthday Thinlits!libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Large Numbers Framelits, Wood Crate Framelits, Patriotic, BFBH, watercolor, red white & blueI created the watercolor background easily. This is a fool-proof method.

I placed the watercolor paper on paper towels. I dampened it with a spray bottle of water. I took a clear block and smeared it the ink pad and partially ran it across the wet paper. I cleaned the block and repeated the step in a different ink pad color over the uninked area of the wet watercolor paper . The excess water and coloring that pooled on the edge, I gently wiped off. I let it dry then completed my cards.

Pretty stunning, right? This method made bold watercolor images once dried. I did try a few different techniques.

Before heading over to talented, Mary and her watercoloring, leave me a comment. You know, I’ve got blog candy for a lucky person!!!Continue on Blog Hop Icon

 CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY

We Create June Blog Hop

This is my third of three posts today for Three post Thursday and new catalog launching!! This is a blog hop for We Create!

I went with one of my favorites from the catalog so far, the Lovely Words Thinlits –

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Wood Words, Lovely Words Thinlits, Fresh Florals DSP

A simple card showcasing the cutout words.

I paired the framelits with a sentiment from Wood Words. I used two new In-Colors here too, Powder Pink and Berry Burst.

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Wood Words, Lovely Words Thinlits, Fresh Florals DSP

I stepped up this card by adding the 1/8 Silver ribbon. Surprisingly, it curled when I ran it quickly along a pair of scissors! I also added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Please leave a comment before going onto the talented Kris Kilkenny – we all love to read your comments!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Wood Words
  • Framelits – Lovely Words Thinlits
  • Card Stock – Berry Burst, Powder Pink
  • Ink – Berry Burst
  • DSP – Fresh Florals
  • Other – 1/8 Silver Ribbon

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – June – New Catalog Fun

The new catalog is here! The new catalog is here! The new catalog is here!!!!!!

On this June blog hop, you will see lots of new stuff from the new catalog!!!

Yay – we LOVE ideas, inspiration and finding yet one other thing we ‘need’, right??

Blogging Friends Icon

In libbystamps style, I went one stamp set to feature, Lovely Inside & Out. I created three coordinating cards too.

In looking at some of the larger images from this set, they looked like animal print to me. So. I went with that as my starting point. I also used new In-color here, Lemon Lime Twist. Sort of yellow. Sort of green. Sort of great!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, BFBH, 2017-2019 In-Colors

This In-Color, Tranquil Tide is a bit softer. Reminds me of velvet. Such a soothing, calming color. And, my ink pad stamps like a dream!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, BFBH, 2017-2019 In-ColorsThis is another sort of velvety color to me, Fresh Fig. It really popped against the ‘animal’ print here. I used two colors to stamp the background, Memento Black, stamped three times before inking it up again, and straight Sahara Sand. makes for a really fun design.

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, BFBH, 2017-2019 In-Colors

I hope you’ve enjoyed my one stamp wonder cards here too. They are SO fun! I love them!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – February

Welcome to our February Blogging Friends Blog Hop, the month of love!

We have a guest blogger again this month, Tami White. Welcome, Tami!

Our theme this month is, of course, LOVE.

Blogging Friends Icon

This was quite convenient for me.  My hubs was going to visit his mother (in Holland, we’re in Texas) for her birthday. I always like to make him love notes to stash in his suitcase!

I went with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits from the big idea book and catalog. I paired it with a 6×6 DSP stack from the mini, Sending Love.

I wanted to show you the versatility of our dies and to use every part of it.

In this first card, I used the outer part of the heart die cut –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notes

I paired it with the inner part of the love die. I did plan that I would be using the outer portion and started with a square to create a 3×3 card.

Most people only use this portion of this die, the sweet, scribbly heart –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notes

Of course, it’s a great choice because it’s just too cute. You can see that I used it with the outer portion of the love die this time. I also don’t want to waste any of the Glimmer paper either!

Lastly, I used the center of the heart –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notes

It’s kinda funky and I really like the style of it! (I had a Card Buffet a couple of weeks ago and we used the inner part of the U’s then – I saved the outer parts!) This card just says, love U! How sweet is that?

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notesAll together, some mighty fine cards to be stashed away between clothes to let the hubs know how much I love and miss him!

What do you think? Have I inspired you to used all pieces of a die cut out? I’d love to read your comments!

And, of course, this is a blog hop, so head on over to Mary Blocher to see what she has done with this months theme of love!
