Don’t Box Me In – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday my blogging friends! Time for a Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features boxes!

Handmade boxes are the best because you can customize them to just about any size you need. And, with all the fabulous Designer Series Papers Stampin’ Up has – you can’t go wrong!

I made this darling 3 x 3 box with a peachy top –

libbystamps, stampin up, Beautiful Bouquet, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Banner Triple Punch,Gold 3/8 Metallic Edge Ribbon, CCMCWith an adorable tag to match –

libbystamps, stampin up, Beautiful Bouquet, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Banner Triple Punch,Gold 3/8 Metallic Edge Ribbon, CCMCI started with a Very Vanilla base of 7 x 7. Scored at 2 inches on all four sides. Make cuts and assemble, creating a basic open box.

The lid is (just retired) Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper cut at 6 x 6.

It is has two scores lines on all four sides. To make a snug fit on the lid, whatever your base is made of, take a straight scrap of the same card stock, fold it in half and place it on the left side of your Simply Scored to move the paper slightly away from the left side. Score at 1/2, and 1 1/2. You will cut away a few of the extra pieces, making this also a basic ‘box’ that is used as the lid.

I decorated the box when it was done! I cut a couple of peaches from the paper and stamped the perfect image from Beautiful Bouquet!

I am so excited to see what Debbie Henderson, and Mary Brown created!

Thank You, Thank you, thank you

Hello my Thursday friends!

You know its time for a Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

This week, we have a new layout –

Took me no time to pull out some soon to retire Stampin’ Up items to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Rose Wonder, Lots of Labels Framelits, Eclectic Layers Thinlits, Pick a Pattern DSP

Black and white are always a classic!

I started with creating my focal element, using the Lots of Labels Framelits. The flowers and leaves are from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. I will so miss both these versatile items!

As I adhered the while flower to the black base, I only added Tombow glue to the center of the flower so it stands away from the base.

The ‘thank you’ is from, also retiring stamp set, Rose Wonder. I inked it up and stamped it three times, not reapplying ink. (Looks like my stamp has some lint on it…..it happens!)

Everything was placed on a piece of Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, which was adhered to a Whisper White card base.

Quick. Easy. Elegant.

Check out the other Design Team cards at Create with Connie and Mary. I am sure you’ll be inspired! If you’d like to add a card to our challenge, you can do so on our Facebook page.

We Create – Last Chance Blog Hop

Hello stampers! Have you seen all items that Stampin’ Up is retiring? Sooo many awesome products!

We Create decided to have an impromptu blog hop!

Obviously, the theme is retiring products!

I had a hard time deciding just what to use……I went with a minimally stamped card using framelits!

libbystamps, stampin up, Sprinkles of Life, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Pick a Pattern DSP, Basic Black Bakers Twine, We Create

Isn’t this just the sweetest?!?!

After I framelit cut the word ‘friend’, I found this tiny ‘happy birthday’ from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. Since its photopolymer, its pliable, which made it easy to curve the image. I thought this was a fun addition to the oval ‘friend’. You agree?

libbystamps, stampin up, Sprinkles of Life, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Pick a Pattern DSP, Basic Black Bakers Twine, We Create

The inside is a pullout card that’d be perfect for a gift card!

I’m really sad to see these products retire. I wonder what the other designers are showcasing??? Check them out here –

All About Neutrals – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features cards containing neutrals.

Who doesn’t love neutrals?? Just about every card ever created uses at least one neutral!

I created this ‘sweet’ card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sweet Cupcake, Cupcake Cutouts Framelits, CCMCSadly, this is a retiring stamp set and framelits.

This card is fun and whimsical. The icing is layered neutral colors. Just plain fun!

This card would be great for a variety of occasions : someone you’re thinking about, just to say hi, a birthday, to name a few.

I’m sure both (forward) Debbie Henderson, and (back) Mary Brown have some lovely cards!

  • Framelits – Cupcake Cutouts, retiring

Llama Love

Spending a little time paper crafting for Create with Connie and Mary . It’s Thursday and we have a new challenge –

This is a really great sketch. I was torn between using soon-to-retire products or new stuff. I went with soon-to-retire, because I won’t get to feature them for much longer.

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta, Fiesta Time Framelits, Festive Birthday DSP, Layering Circles, CCMC

Can’t go wrong with the Birthday Fiesta bundle and matching Designer Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta, Fiesta Time Framelits, Festive Birthday DSP, Layering Circles, CCMC

Isn’t this the cutest!?!? I am going to miss this Llama. I mean, who has a Llama framelit? Really?

This just made me smile. Big. And, it was a great way to use this suite just one more time! It is available until May 31.

Take a look at all the wonderful creations the other Design team members came up with on our Create with Connie and Mary site. You can create a card and link up to our Facebook page.

Looking forward to seeing your creations!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – May – Retiring Favorites

May first and before we know it, the new catalog will be here. This is the first of two blog hops for the day!

Blogging Friends Icon

In honor of the current catalog ending, we will say farewell to some of out favorite Retiring Products. This post is all about retiring products. A few that I really liked out of several that are retiring!

I created five 4×4 cards to share. No particular order. libbystamps, stampin up, Nailed It Bundle, Nailed It. Build It Framelits, Sending Love DSP

From the Occasions Mini, the Nailed It bundle sold out as soon as it went on the retiring list. I just love it – so versatile and a masculine set for once! I paired it with the Sending Love Designer Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, Stylish Stems Framelits, Special Reason, Pop of Pink Specialty DSP

This Stylish Stems Framelits was my favorite flower framelit, also from the Occasions Mini. The coordinating Special Reason stamp set was ok, not my favorite as the words are too small. Of course, I purchased both of them. This paired well with the (soon to retire) Pop of Pink Specialty Designers Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, T-Shirt Builder Framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, Custom Tee, 2015-2016 In-Colors

Of course, the In-Colors are always sad to see leave. At least they are around for a couple of years! My favorite color was the Cucumber Crush! I used the T-shirt Builder framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, to create this. These are also from the mini. I liked the ‘Happy Stamper’ stamp. That is SO usable for us!

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta Bundle, Birthday Fiesta, Fiesta Time Framelits, Festive Birthday DSP, Llama

From the large, main catalog. The Llama. Who does not love a llama? Who? This was an awesomely cute bundle! The designer series paper was pretty cool too.

libbystamps, stampin up, Fresh Fruit, Fruit Stand DSP, pears

The last stamp set I’ll share is the Fresh Fruit. I loved this. It was simply sweet.

libbystamps, stampin up, Gorgeous Grunge, Banners Framelits, Layered Letters Alphabet, 12x12 Kraft Card Stock, box

Lastly. The 12×12 Kraft card stock will no longer be available. I created (from scratch) a nifty box to hold all these cards. And, yes, the Banners Framelits, the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the Layered Letters Alphabet will not be in the upcoming catalog either. Gorgeous Grunge? I got so much use from this set!

libbystamps, stampin up

Whew. That’s a lot of retiring stuff! And, I didn’t even touch the tip of all the things I really loved from the 2016-2017 catalog. Not too sad though. Can’t be. Lots of new, wonderful items coming our way. If you feel compelled to need any of these or other items, please order here.

So, this is a blog hop, before heading over to talented, Mary Blocher, please leave me a comment.

Watercooler Wednesday #114

Middle of the week. You know what that means. Time for a Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

Penny is our host. She chose some wonderful colors –

I stared at them for a while. I just pulled out my inks and a stamp set. I went with a favorite that will be retiring –

libbystamps, stampin up, Perfectly Wrapped, WWC114

I created a simple ‘Thanks’ card. Really, is there any other type of card for me to create?

libbystamps, stampin up, Perfectly Wrapped, WWC114

My flowers were all randomly stamped. Followed by the nicely inked up centers! I like the contrast of the Calypso Coral words. And, of the course the addition of the bow. These have become my favorites!

I hope to have inspired you to join up with our challenge this week! You can see the other design team cards on our blog, Watercooler Wednesday!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Perfectly Wrapped
  • Card Stock – Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
  • Ink – Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Island Indigo
  • Other – Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine
Happy Stampin’
