Watercooler Wednesday #123 – Marsha’s ‘Fireworks’ Themed Challenge

Happy middle of the week! Time to play around with a Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

This week, we have one from Marsha –

Oh this is a fun idea!!! Great if you having a party for the upcoming July 4th! And, yes, I went with something traditional when I saw the challenge –

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, Happy Celebrations, Wood Words, Wood Crate Framelits, Wood Words Bundle, WWC

Isn’t this just FUN?????

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, Happy Celebrations, Wood Words, Wood Crate Framelits, Wood Words Bundle, WWC

I stamped the background in alternating Real Red and Dapper Denim firework shapes from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set first. I liked the ‘Celebrate’ sentiment from Happy Celebrations set. Yes, it was a challenging fussy cut too!!!

The stamped stars are from Wood Words set because they were perfect for this finishing detail. The star framelit is from the coordinating Wood Crate framelits!

The other Design team members all took a different approach to the challenge. See how they designed with it. Play along with us – it’s fun!!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Lovely Inside & Out, Happy Celebrations
  • Framelits – Wood Crate
  • Bundles – Wood Words
  • Card Stock – Dapper Denim, Whisper White
  • Ink – Real Red, Dapper Denim, Smokey Slate
Happy Stampin’

Fourth Fun Treats

H A P P Y   F O U R T H  of  J U L Y  !!!!!!

I have some crafty festivities planned, but I had made these cute little treats for co-workers the other day –

libbystamps, stampin up, Better Together, Balloon Celebration, July 4th Treats

Nice huh? It’s really the same idea as the nugget holder trays that I’ve made before.

I cut each one, stamped them and then scored them. Easy. Easy.

Assembly went quick too.

libbystamps, stampin up, Better Together, Balloon Celebration, July 4th Treats

I had this cute little red plastic berry basket that held all of these without a problem. It just added to the patriotic feel!

I worked the early shift and was able to leave these for everyone to brighten their day. I got several comments to how they were pleased to find them!

It just goes to show you, go create something for someone and make their day!!

Happy Fourth –
Libby

Watercooler Wednesday Challenges!

This week, we have a really fun challenge –

Tags!!! How cool is this idea?

Well, I thought pretty cool. I came up with this nifty little number –

libbystamps, stampin up, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Silver Metallic Thread, Stars Framelits, SwWWC74, Thoughtful Banners, Duet Banner, Lucky Stars EF, July 4

It a card with a tag in the front pocket!!

libbystamps, stampin up, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Silver Metallic Thread, Stars Framelits, SwWWC74, Thoughtful Banners, Duet Banner, Lucky Stars EF, July 4

…..and, it can be removed too! Pretty snazzy tag all by itself!!

libbystamps, stampin up, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Silver Metallic Thread, Stars Framelits, SwWWC74, Thoughtful Banners, Duet Banner, Lucky Stars EF, July 4

Here are few more views with the tag inserted. I love the am-scram ribbon at the top!! Some is retired ribbon, but it all worked so well for this.

Kind of just by chance that the silver foil die cut fits over the bottom panel. I love that look. The star was raised so it really had no choice.

libbystamps, stampin up, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Silver Metallic Thread, Stars Framelits, SwWWC74, Thoughtful Banners, Duet Banner, Lucky Stars EF, July 4

It’s pretty festive, don’t you agree?

Now, the other design team members came up with lots of clever takes on this sketch for the week. You should check them out and play along with Watercooler Wednesday this week!

And, how about leavin’ something for me to read?

Celebrate Memorial Day, Paper Pumpkin

That’s right! How about creating a Memorial Day card using the May Paper Pumpkin kit?

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, May Paper Pumpkin, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Stars Framelits, Silver Foil

Isn’t this fun? This would be a great card for a Fourth of July party or even Labor Day festivities!

It’s one of those cool slider cards –

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, May Paper Pumpkin, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Stars Framelits, Silver Foil

Nice how the Real Red and Night of Navy show through, right? Even the simple base it quite nice! The pullout just adds a whole lot to the card!

I’m loving’ the versatility of these Swirly Scribbles Thinlits too! They just added that little addition of color the front needed along with the stars. You can order them on Wednesday, June 1st!!

The Paper Pumpkin kit came with 8 card bases like this, two different styles, to decorate along with a great stamp set too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, May Paper Pumpkin

I just folded my card over, creased it really good and used 1/8th inch double-sided adhesive for the closing of my pocket card.

You can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin here. You get everything needed to create and finish the kit in the box! Your first one even includes a block! It’s great for $20 a month, includes shipping too!

I’d love to read what you think about my patriotic card today!

Happy Stampin’

Celebrate, Pumpkin

Got you thinkin’, right?

Well, I really liked the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week –

I haven’t been much in the crafting mood, but, I kept going back to this.

Since July 4th is right around the corner, I had an idea.

I really don’t have any of the ‘new’ DSP’s yet so I decided to go through my slew of Paper Pumpkin kits I have stashed. I was in a red, white and blue mood.

This is what I created –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, stampinup, Paper Pumpkin, FMS193, Perpetual Birthday Calendar Photopolymer Stamp Set, Pinwheel Party Paper Pumpkin, Wish Big Paper Pumpkin, July 4th cards, Freshly Made Sketches

Very fun and festive! I used 2 different kits here. Mainly the Pinwheel Party, but the silver stars came from the Wish Big kit. It’s great having this stash of goodies. Always comes in handy!

And, I used the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set as well. It has such fabulous backgrounds! Perfect for little accents here and there, like my stars. I forget about using this set in a non-kit way.

What do you think?

Happy Stampin’

Patriotic Above & Beyond

Above & Beyond. What a great title for a patriot card I created today, don’t you think? Our service men go way beyond what is expected of them, so, my card was created.

Also, with a little nudging from SU-Only Challenges #73, Patriotic Projects. Of course, red, white and blue! Additionally, Paper Craft Crew. PCCCS #47 to be exact. When I saw Paper Craft’s sketch, I just pictured the patriot challenge in my head with those half circle banners people and businesses place around the Fourth of July. So, I went to creatin’. I had an idea to run with.

I did not have any DSP other than a retired DSP 6×6 paper stack to use. I just went with it. Retired or not.

I started with a paper rosette (guess that’s what you them). I could not figure out how to make a half one or cut it, so, my top layer is like 3 dimensionals high! Made for a difficult photographing experience, but you get the idea. I just kept adding layers and pieces until I got to this finished card.

I did not have any suitable ribbon, so I decided to go with paper ribbon and a paper bow. Love that element.

I am just so pleased with the way this card turned out! What do you think?

Happy Stampin’
