Happy Christmas, Past the Gate

It’s Watercooler Wednesday challenge day! Mid-week. This was a much-needed break from creating for a holiday fair I’m participating in on Saturday.

Today we have a great challenge to get you thinking –

14441090_10209922977286441_2266254766570185586_n

Love the fact Gail chose this idea. When was the last time you created an interesting fold?

Personally, I’ll play around with new folds that I come across, but, rarely do they make the cut for me.

Until………Until, I created this card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

It’s just simply S W E E T !!!!!

It’s a Twist Gate Fold card. NOT my original idea – I came across it on Splitcoaststampers. And, I just had to try it!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

As it starts to open….it looks a little funny, or ‘off’.

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

But, as you can see, fully opened, it’s pretty stinkin’ sweet! It does not want to lay flat because of the special fold.

I love, Love, LOVE, it! I’d like to make a few more of these! It was too much fun!

Wouldn’t you agree? Please leave me some kind words. I’d love to read them!

Then, see what other nifty folds the other Design team members created. Perhaps we have sparked your creativity to play along with our challenge this week!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Suite Seasons, Time of Year
  • Card Stock – Real Red, Whisper White
  • DSP – Candy Cane Lane
  • Ink – Real Red, Early Espresso
  • Bid Shot – Stitched Shapes Framelits

Team Meetings SWAPS

This past week we got together for our Team Meeting and we did our usual swapping of new ideas and a couple of make’n takes.

These were the two make’n takes –

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

This is an oldie but goodie technique, shaving creme, that I miss and should try again! The results are stunning.

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

Inside looked almost as good as the outside!

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas, gift card holder

The other make’n take is an easy idea that’s been out for a while. You can never have too many gift card holders!

Now the swaps we traded were as wonderful!

I’ll start with this knockout –

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

It’s a perpetual calendar that Cari create for each one of us!! I can’t wait for the countdown to begin.

Next on the list of ‘you shouldn’t have gone to all this trouble‘, goes to Sherri –

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

I forgot to take a pick of this card extended….it’s gorgeous!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

Susan went all fancy fancy on her card! I haven’t tried to emboss foil yet! Apparently you can and the look is stunning!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

The glitz just continued here from Pearl. Kicking myself for not ordering this bundle….

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

Diana went with traditional colors on her card. Love the NOEL word!!

libbystamps, stampin up, team meeting, SWAPS, Christmas

My swap was already blogged about. And, it was featured on the November Card Buffet.

We had a terrific variety of cards this time around! Great job ladies! Can’t wait for the Holiday party in January!!

Wacky Watercooler October Blog Hop

Finally made time to join this wonderful blog hop again, the Wacky Watercooler!

2016-october-banner

Our theme is fall, of course!

I created a nice little array of items.

The first is a simple, elegant card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Seasons, Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, Gold Foil, Thanksgiving card

Love these colors together! Very elegant and classy!

The third is a wonderful interactive card –

libbystamps, stampin up, slider card, Kraft Rope Trim, Layering Ovals Framelits, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cookie Cutter Halloween

Pull up on the viewable area to see this –

libbystamps, stampin up, slider card, Kraft Rope Trim, Layering Ovals Framelits, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cookie Cutter Halloween

…and did you see that the adorable main focal image moved up to?

Lastly, I always make some sort of Gratitude Journal for myself and as a Card Buffet item around this time. Here is the one for this year –

libbystamps, stampin up, Seasonal Frame Thinlits, Copper Foil, Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bags, Vintage Leaves, Leaflets Framelits, Season Frame Thinlits

Inside it has 10 sheets of paper to notate what you are ‘grateful’ for. This is one of our Tag A Bag Gift Bags folded over and decorated.

I would love to read what you think about my Blog Hop projects before moving on to the next blog! And, if you attend my Card Buffet this weekend, you may or may not see these projects again, just sayin’!

Black on White Hosted Challenge, WWC

It’s Wednesday! That time of the week!

Guess what? I’m host for the challenge this week over at Water Cooler Wednesday!

I decided to go with this fun number –

13907113_10209565941160761_8066249566156608674_n

That’s right. Black on white. Simply stamping means just that, create a card with simple stamping. No die cuts, punches, extra layers, or added embellishments.

And, that’s just what I did with this card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Black on White, Christmas, WWC90

It’s simply elegant, isn’t it?

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Black on White, Christmas, WWC90

I love it!

libbystamps, stampin up, Christmas Pines, Black on White, Christmas, WWC90

I didn’t add any additional layers either. Although I could have. I loved the way it looked just like this.

So, what you think? Great inspiration for Black on White? I’d love to read what you think.

Then head over to Water Cooler Wednesday and see how the others created with the sketch. And join my challenge this week! I’d love for you to play along with us!

Simple Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Christmas Pines
  • Card Stock – Whisper White
  • Ink – Tuxedo Memento Black

Christmas Blessings for WWC

It’s Wednesday again. And you know what that means…….

WWC logo

A Watercooler Wednesday challenge of course!

This week we have a great color challenge from Penny –

14330134_10209884620047534_2757531655655613061_n

Some beautiful colors too!

I don’t think I did them the justice they deserved with my card –

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC89, Pine Bough EF, Christmas Pines, Pretty Pines Thinlits

What do you think?

It’s very clean and simple. I used all the colors but white.

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC89, Pine Bough EF, Christmas Pines, Pretty Pines Thinlits

Hard to tell in my pictures, but the pinecones are Silver Foil and the embossing is silver too!

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC89, Pine Bough EF, Christmas Pines, Pretty Pines Thinlits

My ribbon is retired but it just tied everything in so well! Ha-ha, pun intended!

I’d love to read your thoughts on my card. Then, you can head over to Watercooler Wednesday and see what the other designers created using the same colors! And, then, you can play along too!

Big News, CCMC408

It time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge this week.

And, this is just the sweetest!

Here is the challenge this week. Colors.

CCMC408

Aren’t they ‘sweet’? See what I did with the such sweetness –

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

I created an adorable little baby shaker card! I really liked the horizontal lines on the front DSP contrasted with the vertical ones on the inside. It looks really cool.

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

Another view. I created a window with my shaker pieces in between.

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

The (slightly crooked) stamping shows through.

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

All the fun stuff moves freely about when played with opened!

Supplies used –

  • Stamps – Big News Clear (R)
  • DSP – Birthday Bouquet (R)
  • Dies – Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits
  • Punches – 7/8 Scallop Punch (R), Banner (R)
  • Card Stock – So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Blushing bride
  • Ink – Early Espresso
  • Other – Stapler, Whisper White Thick Baker’s Twine

An adorable card, right? Not sure just who it will be for. But a great card to have in my stash – for that perfect person!

Head over to Create with Connie and Mary to see the other wonderful cards made with these sweet colors. And play along – it’s soo fun!

World’s Best, WWC69

Wednesday. Wednesday. Wednesday. Time for a Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

WWC logo

And, this week, it’s a CAS Masculine theme from Kath –

WWC69

I decided to go with a Father’s Day card –

libbystamps, stampin up, English Garden DSP, Going Global, Father's Day, WWC69

Pretty clean. Pretty simple.

I’ve really gotten hooked on this diagonal cut DSP and adding it to your card. For a standard card, you start with a DSP that is 4 x 4. Cut it on the diagonal and add it to the front of your card. Stamping or decorating the void in the middle.

libbystamps, stampin up, English Garden DSP, Going Global, Father's Day, WWC69

Here, I went with DSP, English Garden, stamp set, Going Global, and a piece of Crumb Cake to fill in that area.

All in all, a pretty clean and simple masculine card I’d say? Don’t you agree? Comment appreciated.

Head over to Watercooler Wednesday and see what the others have created – fabulous stuff!
