Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Awning Cards

Have we got a great blog hop today with Create with Connie and Mary!

Our theme is Awning Cards.

I admit, I don’t think I’ve ever made an awning card. You know how doors and windows sometimes have awnings over them for shade? Well, that apparently works with card making too! And, it makes for some cute card designs.

I pulled out some new Stampin’ Up Designer Series Paper for this design. I notice that in small towns, they tend to decorate the windows according to seasons – and, fall, who doesn’t love fall!?!? That was my inspiration!

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Cat, Spooky Night DSP, window card, awning card

I photographed my card as it was lying flat. But that didn’t really show off the ‘awning’.

Check out the dimension –

I used Acetate Window Sheets for the window.

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Cat, Spooky Night DSP, window card, awning cardI thought the pumpkins and sentiment looked best on the inside peeking through the opening, just like a real window!

This card was also minimally stamped. The pumpkins were cut from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper! The awning was also trimmed according to the circles in the pattern. So easy!

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Holiday Catalog

Have we got a fun hop of cards today for our Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Our theme is the new Holiday Catalog.

Where do I begin??? This year it’s just FABULOUS!!

A favorite of mine is the Pizza Boxes. They are coated to be food safe, but hold cards equally as well. So that was my starting point for these –

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Merry Cafe, Mini Pizza Boxes, Whisper White 3x3 Envelopes, Everyday Label Punch, CCMC

The Painted Harvest is next on my favorites so far which I combined with the Merry Cafe to create 4 3×3 little cards. Another new thing is 3×3 mini envelopes! (They are under the cards in the picture.)

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Merry Cafe, Mini Pizza Boxes, Whisper White 3x3 Envelopes, Everyday Label Punch, CCMCI used the flower center and a partial leaf to create the little pumpkin here.

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Merry Cafe, Mini Pizza Boxes, Whisper White 3x3 Envelopes, Everyday Label Punch, CCMC

Here, I created the pooling water look with the fern stamp and three inks, Black Memento, Basic Grey and Smokey Slate.

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Merry Cafe, Mini Pizza Boxes, Whisper White 3x3 Envelopes, Everyday Label Punch, CCMC

Thinking out of the box here by using the two acorns pieces, opposite, I created the holiday glasses.

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Merry Cafe, Mini Pizza Boxes, Whisper White 3x3 Envelopes, Everyday Label Punch, CCMCThe wreath here is pretty straight forward. It’s the flower without the stamped centers.

Did you notice the ‘ticket corner’ looking punched corners on all the cards? I used the new Everyday Label Punch to create them. Just insert them from the top of the punch using the edge as a guideline.

We all have our favorites and products we gravitate too. See what the other Design Team members created –

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Pop Up Surprise!

Happy, happy Saturday. The last post from me was last Saturday. I have missed a week of creating and blogging due to Harvey.

In a nutshell, I live basically in Houston, right outside the city limits, in Pearland. The past week has been a blur. It started raining last Saturday evening really hard and never stopped. Water levels in our neighbor went up and down. Only to not go down. We live in a two-story house so we took stuff upstairs, like my stamp stuff among other items. As it was evident the water was on the rise, our efforts to move stuff (furniture) went into a higher gear. I went to bed Monday night around 3:00 am as the water was creeping up the 10 inch house foundation. I had accepted the fact I would wake up to water in my home. A few hours later as I woke up, the house was as still as could be, the ac had not turned on in a long while (a sign to me that the outside ac unit had taken on water), and there was the smell of strong musty humidity in the air. I got up to a dry floor as I walked through the house. I looked outside and although it was still raining, we had not flooded and the water was not touching the slab anymore. It was slow to drain on Tuesday, but by Wednesday the water had receded on our street enough to drive through it. But not the case for SO, SO many. As of Friday night, many areas and homes are still flooded or have flooded because of dam and reservoir water releases. It has truly been incomprehensible. We received some 45+ inches of rain.

My dear friends at Create with Connie and Mary have provided wonderful support with their care and concern. It was important to me to get back to them and my other stamp commitments. Stamping is my therapy. And, after this experience, I’m going to need a lot of therapy – in many forms!!!

Our theme this week is, Pop Up Surprise.

I’ve created lots of pop up cards, and, of course I strived for one a bit different.

libbystamps, stampin up, Creep it Real, Merry Little Christmas DSP, Black Mini Sequin Trim, CCMC, Pop Up Card I went with a Halloween themed card. libbystamps, stampin up, Creep it Real, Merry Little Christmas DSP, Black Mini Sequin Trim, CCMC, Pop Up Card

As you open it, the surprise is revealed!

And, believe or not, it folds flat!

As Harvey waters moved closer, I was in the midst of moving all my current stamp stuff to higher ground, I managed to do my part for our September Session with Create with Connie and Mary.  I must say, I created an adorable 3-D item this time around. Please support me and the Design Team by purchasing any of our tutorial sessions. September will be available on the 11th.

Halloween is in the Bag

How’s your Halloween weekend going? Doing a little paper crafting this weekend?

Hopefully, all these Halloween cards have been inspiring to you!

I have a decorated Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Halloween style, to share today –

libbystamps, stampin up, Jar of Haunts, Everyday Jars Framelits, Halloween Night Baker's Twine, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits

Isn’t this just the cutest? I really loved these Jar of Haunts when I first saw them in the Holiday Mini catalog. Of course, I just has to have them! You know that feeling….

This little treat bag would be great for a little note, a gift card, and of course, edible treats!!

And yes, another project from the September Card Buffet. (Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to see my monthly board.) As you can see, I don’t always get around to posting the projects as I would like to!

Happy Stampin’

Elegant Halloween Scene

Yesterday, I posted a simple black and white negative image card here. I just realized that I never posted the card I was referring to!

It was from last months Card Buffet (I post my Card Buffet board only on Facebook and Instagram) and I never posted the single card here.

This is the card that yielded such wonderful scraps –

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Fun, Halloween Scenes Edgelits, Card Buffet

Nice, huh?

It was a bit detailed, but I had it as an option at both the September and October Card Buffets and it was a hit!  The Fine-Tip Glue was a hit with this project too!

Please leave kind words and get back to having a wonderful and safe Halloween weekend!

Thanks for looking!

Mummy, Trick or Treat

Now. Halloween. That’s a holiday I’m totally down with this October 25th!

(That’s a reference to Mondays post, lol!)

At the Card Buffet this past weekend, one of the choices were these adorable earrings that you’ve seen all over the interweb –

libbystamps, stampin up, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Duet Banner Punch, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, shrinky dink earrings

cute, Cute, CUTE!!!!!!!

Ans, so easy!! I created this nifty little packaging from some retired Stampin’ Up cello bags! Adorable. Just adorable.

libbystamps, stampin up, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Duet Banner Punch, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, shrinky dink earrings

The earrings poked right through the card stock.

I loved to ‘ear’ what you think!!! Ha-Ha!

I’m a Guest Tutorial Designer for Splitcoaststampers

You read that right! I was asked a few months back about creating a tutorial and video for a Falliday Fest special event that Splitcoaststampers will have over the next few weeks!

Fall is my favorite time of year! And, I couldn’t be more excited to share this –

libbystamps, stampin up, nugget cake, Spooky Fun, Halloween Night Specialty, Circles Collection Framelits, Boo To You Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, nugget cake, Splitcoaststampers

Isn’t this just THE cutest????

I previously made nuggets cakes, one for my daughters birthday and one for Halloween last year.

Although I previously had a pictorial tutorial with last years’ Halloween cake, this time I added a video. Yes, my first video!

Here are a few more views of my finished design –

libbystamps, stampin up, nugget cake, Spooky Fun, Halloween Night Specialty, Circles Collection Framelits, Boo To You Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, nugget cake, Splitcoaststampers

One from the bottom looking up. (I have it sitting on a glass pedestal cake stand.)

libbystamps, stampin up, nugget cake, Spooky Fun, Halloween Night Specialty, Circles Collection Framelits, Boo To You Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, nugget cake, Splitcoaststampers

And from the top down. My decorations were quite simple but very effective in my design.

I’d love for you to leave a comment here on my blog before taking a peek at my first ever VIDEO for Splitcoaststampers on how to make this adorable nugget cake.

I cannot express to you just how excited I am to have been asked to participate in the Falliday Fest special event put on by Splitcoaststampers! Check out my tutorial as well as the others that will be available.

If you have any questions, please feel to send me an email, message, or text! I’d love to talk with you!

As a side note, the Circles Collection Framelits and the Itty Bitty Punch Pack used for this project are retired Stampin’ Up products. The Boo To You Framelits are retired, too, but are still available for purchase here on my shop site, libbystamps.stampinup.net. I’d be happy to assist you with your purchase!

Happy Stampin’
