Just a Note

Today in the blogging world, I have a busy day! This is the first of three posts for me! Three post Thursday!

I’ll start off with a card for Create with Connie and Mary.

We have a new set of challenges for the month of June since the new Stampin Up catalog just came out!!! All the pictures are from the new catalog and will be what we create from. Here is this weeks inspirational picture –

I had to pull out my book to examine this picture a little more closely.

It appeared to be a gift card holder. So that is what I created –

libbystamps, stampin up, Flourishing Phrases, Flourish Thinlits, Layering Ovals Collection, Tranquil Tide, CCMC, gift card holder, catalog CASE

I went with a simple single, new favorite color, Tranquil Tide. It paired nicely with the Flourish Thinlits and Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

libbystamps, stampin up, Flourishing Phrases, Flourish Thinlits, Layering Ovals Collection, Tranquil Tide, CCMC, gift card holder, catalog CASE

I initially placed the set of scrolling vines down and adhered that whole panel to the card front. After I tied the gold ribbon on the side, I added another set of scrolling vines on top of the other ones and the ribbon. The card is still removable without undoing the ribbon. Clever, really.

It’s very pretty and serene. It’d be great to receive a note like this with a gift card in it!

The other Design Team members created some great cards too. Some used the sketch. Some used the colors. Check them out too!

You can create a card too and link it up on our Facebook page. We’d love for you to join us!

  • Framelits – Flourish Thinlits, Layering Ovals Collection

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Pocket Card

Happy first Saturday of May! Time for a hop around the creative side with a Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

sp15sathopwelcome

Our theme this week is a Pocket Card. This is going to be fun!!!

I knew right away what I wanted to make for this theme –

libbystamps, stampin up, Detailed Floral Thinlits, Floral Phrases, Floral Phrases Bundle, wedding, gift card holder, pocket card

A wedding card! My ‘pocket’ is the bottom half of the card. The insert slips out of the pocket!

libbystamps, stampin up, Detailed Floral Thinlits, Floral Phrases, Floral Phrases Bundle, wedding, gift card holder, pocket card

And the greeting is revealed! Quite a simple card! And, very elegant!

TIP : Always use Tear & Tape to adhere the fold up pocket sides. On the card base, place the insert with the gift card inside and THEN fold up the bottom to adhere. This way, it allows room for the removable pocket with card!  Same thing with the gift card insert, fold up and adhere along the sides of the gift card. It just allows movable room!

Check all the other styles of pocket cards on our hop today! Some really nice ones!

Stamp’n Chat Fun!

I wanted to share briefly about my class on Friday night.

A group of ladies created this –

libbystamps, stampin up, It's a Sara Thing, Custom Tee, T-Shirt Builder, Custom Tee Bundle, April 2017 Paper Pumpkin

I did already show you, but I wanted to refresh your mind again. This, It’s a Sara Thing Paper Pumpkin was a HIT!!!

The ladies really enjoyed themselves!

As a thank you to the host, I gave her this –

libbystamps, stampin up, It's a Sara Thing, Custom Tee, T-Shirt Builder, Custom Tee Bundle, April 2017 Paper Pumpkin

She loved it! It was one of the envelopes sealed, then border punched out to create an opening. Viola! An instant gift bag!!

I also gave away prizes for a few participants along with a free Card Buffet class at my house –

libbystamps, stampin up, It's a Sara Thing, Custom Tee, T-Shirt Builder, Custom Tee Bundle, April 2017 Paper Pumpkin

They loved these as well!

libbystamps, stampin up, It's a Sara Thing, Custom Tee, T-Shirt Builder, Custom Tee Bundle, April 2017 Paper Pumpkin

The two gifts were a hit in addition to the class itself. Perhaps this will be the beginning of future Stamp’n Chats!!!

Wacky Watercooler Spring Fever February Blog Hop

I’m back for another fabulous blog hop of paper crafting talent with the Wacky Watercooler!

2017-february-spring-fever-banner

Our theme this month is Spring Fever! And, boy did I catch it!

I’ve been itching to play with the new Window Box Thinlits and the Basket Bunch stamp set. I think they’d make a great combination! And, they did. Just look at what I created –

libbystamps, stampin up, occasions 2017, Basket Bunch, Basket Builder Framelits, Window Box Thinlits, Easter, basket, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

A sweet little basket just filled with mini cards!!! I used half, or one, of the basket pieces to create this basket.

Here are the cards individually –

libbystamps, stampin up, occasions 2017, Basket Bunch, Basket Builder Framelits, Window Box Thinlits, Easter, basket, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

Who doesn’t love a chocolate bunny???

libbystamps, stampin up, occasions 2017, Basket Bunch, Basket Builder Framelits, Window Box Thinlits, Easter, basket, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

…..and, Peeps? Did someone say, Peeps???

libbystamps, stampin up, occasions 2017, Basket Bunch, Basket Builder Framelits, Window Box Thinlits, Easter, basket, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

Of course you have your Easter eggs.

libbystamps, stampin up, occasions 2017, Basket Bunch, Basket Builder Framelits, Window Box Thinlits, Easter, basket, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

And let’s not forget about carrots. Carrots are very springy!

The cards are all 2×3, perfect for tags or little ‘love’ notes!

The basket grass was adhered with dimensionals to give a 3D or stacked appearance.

This little set is just too precious!

Wacky Watercooler May Blog Hop

Welcome! It’s time for the Wacky Watercooler May Blog Hop!!!

May 2016 Banner

You may have come from the talented Marsha Reed’s blog. If not, I’m glad you are joining us. This weekend our hop will have three projects.

I decided to go with a fun, whimsical masculine theme in addition to the three projects –

ONE. Something that is retiring I will miss.

Mine is the basic shaped framelits and basic shaped punches. There is just too many to work with here or to list. I created this card with a few of my favorites – the larger circle framelits and a few of the handheld basic shaped punches.

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

This card is a 4 inch round card, made using the Circles Collection Framelits.

I made the ‘cake slice’ using the retiring Scalloped Oval Punch, Chevron Punch, and the Cherry On Top Washi Tape. I used the retiring Something to Say Stamp Set (oh yeah, it’s on SALE). Here is a tutorial how to make this cake slice.

TWO. Masculine project, made with retiring or carryover items.

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

I made this card using retiring the Circles Framelits, Cherry On Top Washi Tape, and again, the Something to Say Stamp. The card stock and D A D stamp will carry over (whew!).

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

And, of course the coordinating inside. It’s just too cute not to show.

THREE. New, upcoming item or a carryover that we really like.

Well, I have not done a pre-order (I know, what’s up with that?). So, I went with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used the same  D A D carryover stamp set, Party with Cake, and added the also carrying over set, Timeless Textures. The Triple Banner Punch and Stapler – yep – carrying over!

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

The pull out for the bag. Can’t forget that! It’s just as cute. Great to add a gift card or little treat on the card too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Party with Cake, Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, Stapler, Timeless Textures, Circles Framelits, Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape, Something to Say Stamp Set, round card, Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop, masculine, Father's Day

So, again, a nice spread of fun, whimsical, coordinating ‘manly’ items here. All the fussy cutting…….ahhhh…..I love it! Fussy cutting is therapy for me!! Lol!!

Watercooler Wednesday, #65

Meanwhile, back at Watercooler Wednesday, we have a great challenge to play along with this week!

WWC logo

It’s an anything goes challenge –

WWC65

These are fun because you can choose anything to submit!

I decided to go opposite my design team members with a card from my recent Card Buffet

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC65, Large Numbers Framelits, graduation, gift card holder, Card Buffet

Yes. A graduation card! It’s never too early to start making these!

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC65, Large Numbers Framelits, graduation, gift card holder, Card Buffet

And, not only is it a card, it’s also a gift card holder!!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, WWC65, Large Numbers Framelits, graduation, gift card holder, Card Buffet

The card also slips out too! I added a nifty velcro closure as well!

These are too simple to create –

  • Start with a standard 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 base.
  • Score at 1 3/4 and 4 1/4.
  • Use Tear & Tape on the edges of the 1 3/4 side, this will be your pocket, fold up.
  • Decorate as you like!

Some of the guest this past weekend knew exactly who they needed these for. They added two Banner Flags in the school colors at the bottom of the opening flap. It was just the right touch!

So, what are you up to creating these days? How about submitting it to the Watercooler Wednesday challenge this week? We’d love to see you! Check out the others designs! Some great work I tell you!

And, it’s also good ‘card-carma’ to leave a kind word about my card share and tutorial today!

Happy Stampin’

December Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to the December Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

Since it’s December, I have a really quick gift card holder present.

Present? Yes. Present because these are 3D instead of the traditional flat style gift card holder. See the couple –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin Kit, Home for Christmas DSP, Word Window Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, gift card holder,

Lots of JOY going on here, I know!

Turned to the side, you can see how a gift card fits nicely in the stand up bag.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin Kit, Home for Christmas DSP, Word Window Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, gift card holder,

I just love how they ‘stand’ on their own!

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin Kit, Home for Christmas DSP, Word Window Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, gift card holder,

These were so fast to put together, I decided to make a few since I’d need them anyway.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin Kit, Home for Christmas DSP, Word Window Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, gift card holder,

The sentiment is a little to the side here, on purpose. I’m still playing around with this cording.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin Kit, Home for Christmas DSP, Word Window Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, gift card holder,

This one is probably my favorite. I love red and green for the holiday season.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin Kit, Home for Christmas DSP, Word Window Punch, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, gift card holder,

I started with a 3 x 11 strip of card stock, scored at 5 3/4 and 6 1/4.

The interior piece is 3 x 3 1/2. Again, with the Simply Scored, score with the 3 1/2 along the top, at 3/4, 1 3/4, and 2 3/4. I used Tear and Tape to adhere to the inside portion to the base.

The closure is a tiny velcro dot. Very easy and they just look so cute sitting around!

Please leave a comment. I’d love to read what you think!
