Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Shaped Cards

Happy funtastic creative Saturday!

You know it’s time for another round of creative ideas from Create with Connie and Mary!

Our theme this week is a Shaped Card (not rectangle or square).

I had to put my thinking cap on for this one. This is going to be a great hop!

I looked at some of the new framelits that we have. The Coffee Cups framelits looked like a winner for creating a ‘shaped card’.

Adorbs, right!?!?!?!?!?! It’s connected by the lid and/or the top of the cup.

I stamped two cups, one for the front, one for the inside. They are connected by the ‘plastic’ top that was folded.

The words were masked off and die cut to create the outside and inside sentiment bands.

I even created a cute little envelope for it –

Totally closed. Remember, this is a small card.

Untied and splayed open. The card shows nicely!

The envelope is actually one of Stampin’ Up’s envelopes from the Notecards & Envelope sets. I scored it. Removed the upper side flaps. Folded sides in. Punched 1/2 partial circle on the sides. Ran ribbon through. Done. . . . .in a nutshell anyway!

You’ll be soo excited to see what the other Design Team members created with our Shaped themed cards blog hop this week!

Happy Christmas, Past the Gate

It’s Watercooler Wednesday challenge day! Mid-week. This was a much-needed break from creating for a holiday fair I’m participating in on Saturday.

Today we have a great challenge to get you thinking –

Love the fact Gail chose this idea. When was the last time you created an interesting fold?

Personally, I’ll play around with new folds that I come across, but, rarely do they make the cut for me.

Until………Until, I created this card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Candy Cane Lane, Suite Seasons, Time of Year, Twist Gate Fold

It’s just simply S W E E T !!!!!

It’s a Twist Gate Fold card. NOT my original idea – I came across it on Splitcoaststampers. And, I just had to try it!!!

As it starts to open….it looks a little funny, or ‘off’.

But, as you can see, fully opened, it’s pretty stinkin’ sweet! It does not want to lay flat because of the special fold.

I love, Love, LOVE, it! I’d like to make a few more of these! It was too much fun!

Wouldn’t you agree? Please leave me some kind words. I’d love to read them!

Then, see what other nifty folds the other Design team members created. Perhaps we have sparked your creativity to play along with our challenge this week!

Floral Z-Fold, WWC77

Wednesday. The middle of the week. Time for Watercooler Wednesday Challenges!

We have a super nice color challenge this week from Marsha –

At first, I looked at the colors and thought there was several of them and just how was I going to used them?

However. I started by pulling out all the ink pads and scraps of each color of card stock for a visual reference. OMG. Wonderful color combination together. Wonderful.

And, this is what I did with it –

libbystamps, stampin up, Botanical Builder Framelits. Thankful Thoughts, Botanical Blooms, WWC77, z-fold

I made a lovely, pretty Z-Fold card! Yes, I’m really into these currently.

libbystamps, stampin up, Botanical Builder Framelits. Thankful Thoughts, Botanical Blooms, WWC77, z-fold

Start to open it…..

Fully opened. You can see the sentiment on the inside here.

I’m not into flowers too much, however, this I really like. Guess it’s the colors.

And, you? What do think? Leave me something kind to read. Then, pull out these colors, head over to Watercooler Wednesday, get more inspiration and submit a card to our challenge! That easy.

Supplies used –

  • Stamps – Thankful Thoughts (N), Botanical Blooms
  • Card Stock – Very Vanilla, Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Pink Pirouette, Sweet Sugarplum (N)
  • Big Shot – Botanical Builder Framelits
  • Ink – Night of Navy, Mint Macaron

Sunny Beach Day Fun

I don’t know about where you’re at, but, here, it’s  H O T  !!! Not only is the temperature up there, at 93, it’s also 100% humidity! And, the feels like temp…..I won’t even go there.

As a matter of fact, I’m not going anywhere – too hot. Staying indoors.

I decided why not cool off with a card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, beach ball, Beach Party

Well, how about project? I also made some candy treats and a tag for the mini beach bag!

libbystamps, stampin up, Layering Circles Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, beach ball, Beach Party

The card is one of those nifty Double Z-Folds I’ve been seeing all around! See how it just ‘P O P S’ out there?

Here is a top view to really see it.

Creating is a great way to get through the hot summer days! Don’t you agree?

I’d love to read your comments about this nifty cool project!

Happy Fourth –

Nice Shirt Man, WWC71

Time for another great challenge from Watercooler Wednesday!

WWC logo

This time Heidi is the host. She choose a really cool idea. The Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. See all your combinations here? Some really great ones you can go with.

Tic Tac Toe Heidi

Initially, I was going to go with a graduation theme. However, I changed my mind at the last-minute and went with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, shirt card, masculine, manly, Father's Day, WCW71, 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Liner Paper, gift card holde

Ok, right off the bad, you see, masculine, right?

And, when opened –

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, shirt card, masculine, manly, Father's Day, WCW71, 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Liner Paper, gift card holde

Confirmation on the Father’s Day and a gift card holder! (Sorry about the lame gift card I used here – only one I could find – you get the idea!)

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, shirt card, masculine, manly, Father's Day, WCW71, 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Liner Paper, gift card holde

So. The third item in this Tic-Tac-Toe challenge would be ‘Die Cut or Punch’. Well, hard to see, but I went with Punch.

I punched the shoulders using the Corner Rounder Punch to soften them. And, the buttons on the polo are from the Owl Builder, the eyes parts I guess. Either way, those qualify, right?

libbystamps, stampin up, Many Manly Occasions, shirt card, masculine, manly, Father's Day, WCW71, 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Liner Paper, gift card holder

Here is a shot of the back of the card too. Because it looks as cool as the front.

Now, I did follow this tutorial to make the shirt. This retired Envelope Paper was perfect to create this shirt because it’s so light weight and foldable without tearing. Let alone, the pattern – so manly!

So, this Tic-Tac-Toe challenge – pretty cool, right? After leaving me something to read – happy comments – head over to the Watercooler Wednesday to see what the other fabulous design team members combined and created!

Supplies used –

  • Stamps – Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin, May 2016
  • DSP – 2015-2017 In-Color Envelope Liner Paper R
  • Punches – Corner Rounder, Owl Builder Punch
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe
