Featuring Pastels – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy last day of March! And, hello Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Our theme this week is featuring Pastels.

What a wonderful idea and color palette!

I went with an Easter theme – that just shouts pastels to me! Plus, its Easter tomorrow!

libbystamps, stampin up, Hello Easter, Crosses of Hope Framelits, Celebrate You Thinlits, Fresh Florals  DSP, CCMC, Easter, blog hop

I just looked at my Subtles Collection for inspiration here!

Started with a Pink Pirouette card base. Layered (not a color in the Subtles family) Lemon Lime Twist Designer Series Paper from the Fresh Florals pack. Followed by Soft Sky and a stamped So Saffron egg.

The beautiful cross is from Crosses of Hope. It’s cut in Copper Foil. The ‘celebrate’ is in Calypso Coral. And, yes, it was a Sale-a-Bration offering but will be carried over in to the next catalog! Yay!! I hope you were lucky enough to receive that!

Go forward to Debbie Henderson beautiful pastel creations, and back for Mary Brown and her always lovely cards.

Have a blessed holiday!

Hippity Hoppy Easter Favor – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Create with Connie and Mary blog hop day!

Our theme this week features Easter favors.

Perfect, as I made these sweet little Easter bunny treats for my co-workers and Card Buffet attendees on Sunday.

libbystamps, stampin up, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Petals & More Framelits, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Classic Label Punch, Leaf Punch, Tutti-frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins, CCMC, Easter treats

Aren’t these just too sweet? I originally saw these from a European demonstrator. I modified them to fit American nugget chocolates.

Super, super easy!

libbystamps, stampin up, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Petals & More Framelits, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Classic Label Punch, Leaf Punch, Tutti-frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins, CCMC, Easter treats

  • Bunny is a strip of designer series paper, 1 x 12. Score at 2, 5 1/4, 6 3/4 and 10. Nugget wrap is 1 x 3.
  • Use Tear & Tape on the ends, folding in, towards the center on the ends.
  • The two center score lines, fold towards each other.
  • On one of the ends, doesn’t matter which one, where the edge is adhered, apply another strip of Tear & Tape.
  • Stand bunny up, and adhere two ears together.
  • Wrap nugget and insert in bunny base.
  • Decorate. I used the Silver Baker’s Twine from the Spring mini to tie around the ears. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes punches with the Classic Label Punch. Pink flower is from the Petals & More atop the trimmed Leaf Punch

The side view shows the beautiful colors of the paper –

It took way longer to write out the directions than it did to whip up a batch of these! it’s a nice favor because you can use any kind of designer series or patterned paper you have on hand. Great for those scrap strips too!

I am so excited to go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown to see their Easter treats! I might be making even more treats for friends!!!

Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Stamp Set – Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Framelits – Petals & More (flower)
  • Card Stock – Whisper White

Happy Easter

Hello my Thursday friends!

Welcome to another terrific sketch from Create with Connie and Mary!

This week, we have a layout sketch to inspire your creativity –

Nice layout to create an Easter card just in time to be mailed out for Easter!

libbystamps, stampin up, Hello Easter, Eclectic Expression, Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP, Easter, CCMC

I started with my stamped egg, then I stamped the dots to resemble speckles on the egg.

I used the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series paper for this card. These are the reverse of the shiny pages in the pack. Nice and subtle for this card!

It all came together nicely following the sketch! Off to create a few more to mail out!

The other Design Team members created some beautiful cards this week. Check them out on our blog. We hope to inspire you! Link up those inspiration cards on our Facebook page!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Hello Easter, Eclectic Expression (speckles on the egg)
  • Card Stock – Pear Pizzaz, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
  • Ink – Calypso Coral, Old Olive
  • DSP – Sweet Soiree Specialty

Happy Easter Peeps

Before we know it, Easter will be here – it’s about two weeks away!

Made any cards to send out yet? Perhaps, I will inspire you today!

Our challenge this week at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday is a layout challenge –

Challenge #360. Theme : Easter

I love this sketch! It’s fabulous! Nice, clean, bold blocks of color.

I went with a nontraditional Easter theme on my card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Hello Easter, Foxy Friends, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Petal Pair EF, Basket Weave EF, TSOT, Easter

It’s just adorable! Wouldn’t you agree?

I started out with my colors and then went to adding the embossing and placement on the card.

I cut the ‘bunnies’ from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I removed the ‘arms’ with a straight cut. And, I cut the ears a little deeper and longer. Stamped the face from the Foxy Friends and this is what I call a bunny!

The other Design team members created some nice Easter cards too! Check them out on our blog. If you like to link up a card, you can do so on our blog or our Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Hello Easter, Foxy Friends
  • Framelits – Stitched Shapes
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo
  • Ink – Melon Mambo
  • Punches – Cookie Cutter Builder
  • Other – Petal Pair EF, Basket Weave EF (free choices during Sale-a-bration)

Ghirardelli Tiny Bunny Treat Holder Tutorial

One of yesterdays posts, I showed this little cutie –

libbystamps, stampin up, Basket Builder Framelits, Easter Treats, Ghirardelli

Sweet, huh?

I like to create my own patterns because of the challenge. I love that challenge of figuring something out! I bought the candy and designed the holder around it!

Today, I’ll give you a pictorial tutorial how I created it.

libbystamps, stampin up, Basket Builder Framelits, Easter Treats, Ghirardelli, tutorial

Start with a piece of card stock measuring 2 1/2 x 5. (Yes, a blue paper pattern resting on a well used Stampin’ pierce mat!)

libbystamps, stampin up, Basket Builder Framelits, Easter Treats, Ghirardelli, tutorial

Score on the short side 1/2, 2. Rotate and score along the long side at 2, 3 1/4, 3 3/4.

Note : I also scored at 2″ to the 1/2 score mark so I’d know where to cut away. In my pictures it’s already removed.

libbystamps, stampin up, Basket Builder Framelits, Easter Treats, Ghirardelli, tutorial

I made little notches where the creases intersect.

libbystamps, stampin up, Basket Builder Framelits, Easter Treats, Ghirardelli, tutorial

My grass was already cut. I adhered it to the portion of the box using Tombow Liquid Glue, facing out. You can use your favorite strong adhesive though.

At this point, create a basic box. Glueing grass flaps to the back. They do fold easily!

I decorated them after they were finished.

Please let me know what think if you recreate this little holder. I’d love to hear from you!

I did what anyone would have done. Scour the interweb for ideas. I wanted to create something I hadn’t seen to share.

I then went to the store for some real inspiration. The candy!!!!

In no time, I created these little gems –
