Congratulations, Graduate!

Today we have a super sketch over at Create with Connie and Mary –

I was really inspired by it. As we know, graduation season will be starting next month (I know, right? You didn’t realize it, did you!?). I decided to get to work on grads ideas! I have made two recently, here is one of them using our sketch this week –

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Sentiments, Balloon Framelits, Large Numbers Framelits, graduation, graduation gift card holder, CCMC453

How fun and fresh and modern is this???

libbystamps, stampin up, Suite Sentiments, Balloon Framelits, Large Numbers Framelits, graduation, graduation gift card holder, CCMC453

…..and, when you open it, it’s a gift card holder too! I used the same size Whisper White panel as the front, this time, I only adhered it to three side leaving the left side open to slide something fun in the pocket. Use Tear & tape for this for the extra strong bond.

TIP : if you’re adding a gift card, place the gift card down first then adhere the panel. That way, the gift card will slid out easily.

I can wait to create more of these. Maybe in local school colors? This is just a great design to create with!

Congrats for Watercooler Wednesday #109

Today over at Watercooler Wednesday, we have a new challenge that just started.

Heidi selected some wonderful colors as an inspiration point, didn’t she?

I came up with this beauty –

libbystamps, stampin up, Special Reason, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, WWC#109, Occasions 2017

It could be a ‘congrats’ for anything, really.

libbystamps, stampin up, Special Reason, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, WWC#109, Occasions 2017

I just stamped all the flowers and then filled in with the leaves. I added a stapled piece of Very Vanilla twine just under the words. The perfect little touch!

  • Framelits – Sunshine Wishes Thinlits
  • Card Stock – Island Indigo, Pool Party, Very vanilla, Basic Black
  • Ink – Island Indigo, Pool Party, Tuxedo Black Memento

Big News, CCMC408

It time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge this week.

And, this is just the sweetest!

Here is the challenge this week. Colors.

CCMC408

Aren’t they ‘sweet’? See what I did with the such sweetness –

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

I created an adorable little baby shaker card! I really liked the horizontal lines on the front DSP contrasted with the vertical ones on the inside. It looks really cool.

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

Another view. I created a window with my shaker pieces in between.

libbystamps, stampin up, Big News, Birthday Bouquet DSP, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, shaker card, CCMC408

The (slightly crooked) stamping shows through.

All the fun stuff moves freely about when played with opened!

  • Dies – Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits
  • Punches – 7/8 Scallop Punch (R), Banner (R)

Watercooler Wednesday, Challenge 63

Oh what fun we are having at the cooler this week –

43fd9-wwc

Each week, Watercooler Wednesday Challenge has a new challenge for you to play along with. Challenges are great because it gets you to thinking. Do you have products that you’re not sure how to use? Stumped on a card layout? Don’t know where to begin?

Then maybe playing along with our challenges is the thing for you! This week, we have a color challenge –

I love color direction! And, this is a great selection of colors too!

This past weekend, I needed a card for a wedding shower at work. These colors were fun and happy and made for an effortless design –

libbystamps, stampin' up, Definitely Dahlia, Expressions Natural Elements, Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim, WWC63

Wouldn’t any bride-to-be just love to receive this?

libbystamps, stampin' up, Definitely Dahlia, Expressions Natural Elements, Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim, WWC63

Yes, it’s a nice generous 5×5 card! I had to make a custom envelope for it! Thanks to my handy Envelope Punch Board, it came together easily!

libbystamps, stampin' up, Definitely Dahlia, Expressions Natural Elements, Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim, WWC63

For my large flower image, I inked up the stamp in Blushing Bride and then tapped the Watermelon Wonder ink pad around the edges before stamping it. I added the wood sentiment using a mix of Fine Detail Glue and Tombow Liquid Glue. Celebrate just worked beautifully here, don’t you think?

This lovely Watermelon Dotted lace is so nice because it’s stretchy! It ties so neatly!

So. See. Working with colors can be a lot of fun. See what the other wonderful talented team members at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created – then you play along with us!

You know, it’s good ‘card carma’ to leave a comment before moving on! To do that, scroll back up. The ‘Leave a Comment’ button is under the title of the post. Thanks!

Watercooler Wednesday, Challenge 57

These weeks are just flying by, aren’t they?

It’s Wednesday. You know what that means –

43fd9-wwc

Yep. Time for another challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges. This is a wonderful layout sketch from Deborah –

WWC57 Sketch Challenge

It’s great, right? I really liked it.

I had some pieces strewn about the craft room from this card. So I decided to play around with them. Glue them. Trim them. Glue some more. Until I came up with an appealing arrangement.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, WWC57, Rose Garden Thinlits, Red Foil Sheets, Owl Builder Punch, Circle Card Thinlits

Since these roses are cut from the Red Foil Sheets, they really carry their own in a design. So all my other layers and pieces are Whisper White as to not compete with this gorgeous arrangement.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, WWC57, Rose Garden Thinlits, Red Foil Sheets, Owl Builder Punch, Circle Card Thinlits The layer the roses are actually adhered to, is popped up with Dimensionals.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, WWC57, Rose Garden Thinlits, Red Foil Sheets, Owl Builder Punch, Circle Card Thinlits

All the other layers are flat to the card.

I am in LOVE with how this turned out! It’s stunning in person. I can’t wait for the time or right person I give this to. It’s going to blow someone away!

A side-note about my background in the picture today. Originally, I took the picture like this –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, WWC57, Rose Garden Thinlits, Red Foil Sheets, Owl Builder Punch, Circle Card Thinlits, WWC57

It was way too washed out. I think the addition of the brown kraft was just the right photographic touch to make this all white, mostly all white, card really stand out.

Hop on over to Watercooler Wednesday Challenges and check out the other designers creations. And, how about you give this challenge a try? It’s fun to play along!

Leave me a comment. I love to hear from you!

Six Balloon Hip Hip Hooray

It’s Friday. No four cards. No five cards. One card. Six balloons.

You see, I had something else in mind. I saw this sketch over at Try Stampin’ or not On Tuesday

…..and I decided to run with it. This is a wonderful sketch, after a flipped it for my design.

I had a thought of this combination. The Balloon Bouquet Punch and the Party Pop-Up Thinlits –

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Party Pop-Up Thinlits, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Schoolhouse DSP, Gold Foil Sheets, Big Shot Die Brush, Right? It’s quite fun, isn’t it? Very party-like!

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Party Pop-Up Thinlits, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Schoolhouse DSP, Gold Foil Sheets, Big Shot Die Brush,

This Gold Foil is always a problem to photograph. I think you get the picture here though!

I decided to make the words stand out more by putting solid colored card stock behind them. It works really nice to make the point.

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Party Pop-Up Thinlits, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Schoolhouse DSP, Gold Foil Sheets, Big Shot Die Brush,  That whole panel, I popped up for a more dramatic effect. Even the balloons get to go a little ‘higher’. I painstakingly tied Baker’s Twine around each balloon on the next. The look is great. It’s just a challenge to do that, especially with the flatter ones!

libbystamps, Stampin Up, Party Pop-Up Thinlits, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Schoolhouse DSP, Gold Foil Sheets, Big Shot Die Brush,

The overall card is totally fun. A party on a card!

Although the card design was inspired by a sketch, the meaning was driven from an important milestone. My husband got another clean bill of health, six years out. Reason to celebrate. Reason to have a party on a card. Reason to feel blessed.

So. Now you have a sketch, a card and a reason. I’d love to read what you think of my card share today!

Stand Up for a Graduate

Got a last-minute graduation invitation?

Need a quick card to make on your way out?

I got you covered –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, stampin up, graduation card, gift card holder, Blue Ribbon Stamp Set, Back to Black DSP, Word Window Punch

Simple enough from the outside. You know, they only care about what’s inside anyway.

libbystamps, Stampin' Up, stampin up, graduation card, gift card holder, Blue Ribbon Stamp Set, Back to Black DSP, Word Window Punch

Inside reveal. Money/check/gift card slot.

Done. That easy. And, it stands up to be proudly displayed.

I started with card stock that measures 5 1/2 x 12.

Score at 2, 4, 8, and 10.

Fold the two inside score lines, inward. Fold back the outer score lines.

Outer DSP panels are 1 3/4 x 5 1/4. Inside is 3 3/4 x 5 1/4.

Decorate. The belly band helps to keep it all in place.

Finished card is 4 x 5 1/2.

So easy!

Go make a card and make a graduates day!
