“Black or White” – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday my stampin’ friends! Time for a Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week still features 90’s song titles. Cards this week are created with black or white or both only – no colors!

Well, this is right up my alley! These are my favorite colors to create with!

I pulled out these tried and true Sunshine Wishes Thinlits for this –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up!, Perennial Birthday, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Tropical Escape 6x6 DSP, CCMC

I placed those on top of a black and white strip of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.

It was finished off with a simple, bold sentiment from Perennial Birthday.

I love this! I can’t wait to send it out!

Go forward to check out Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll have some great black and white cards!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Perennial Birthday
  • Framelits – Sunshine Wishes
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Ink – Black Memento
  • DSP – Tropical Escape 6×6

Love & Thanks Tropical Style

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

Our newest challenge is a color challenge to get your creative juices going –

All new colors to play with!

I decided to go a little tropical here –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up!, Tropical Chic, Tropical Chic Bundle, Tropical Thinlits, Tropical Escape Suite, CCMC

I used the Tropical Chic bundle to create this.

I stamped the flowers and the leaves first, then die cut them. I stamped the sentiment along the bottom, to the right side and added the lines above it. I knew I wanted to add the elements to the left.

A punched Pineapple Punch circle was the perfect addition to add the flowers and leaves on. It fit nicely above the sentiment.

And, that was it! Simply done!

Check out the other Design Team cards on our Create with Connie and Mary blog.

Hopefully, we will inspire you and you can show off your cards on our Facebook page!

Rhino Thanks You BIG TIME

Happy Tuesday my stampin’ friends! Time for a Try Stampin’ on Tuesday challenge.

Optional Theme : Pop it Up

I love these simple sketches! You can really do soo much with them!

I decided I hadn’t played with this Animal Expedition Suite from Stampin’ Up. It’s simply adorable!

I created a ‘window’ in my card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Animal Outing, Animal Outing Bundle, Animal Friends Thinlits, Animal Expedition Suite, Animal Expedition DSP, Smokey Slate Dark Blends, TSOT

The sweet little rhino is on the outer part of the card. I used the Blends to color him. Dark Smokey Slate for the rhino, and the bird is colored with Calypso Coral and Pool Party.

Those Blends markers will bleed through our Whisper White card stock, so when opened, here is the inside –

libbystamps, stampin up, Animal Outing, Animal Outing Bundle, Animal Friends Thinlits, Animal Expedition Suite, Animal Expedition DSP, Smokey Slate Dark Blends, TSOT

Nicely finished off! The sentiment is hidden by the rhino when closed.

I love it, don’t you? It’s whimsical, fun and cute!

Check the other wonderful cards made using this sketch at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog. You can show us your takes using the sketch on our blog or on our Facebook page! This is a two-week challenge.

“I Believe I Can Fly” – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Time for a Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our 90’s song, ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ theme features birds, bugs, and anything that flies!

Great idea! How about two birds? That are perched? And, a Christmas card?

libbystamps, stampin up, Feathers & Frost Photopolymer Stamp Set, Layering Squares Framelits, Dashing Along Designer Series Paper, CCMC

See? Two birds. Perched. On a Christmas card!

I started with the lovely new stamp set, appropriately called, Feathers & Frost! I stamped the square of greenery and berries. I colored them with the Stampin’ Write Markers in Real Red and Old Olive.

The birds came next. I colored them with a Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker and a Cherry Cobbler Dark Blends marker. I used both for contrast. Then…..I fussy cut them!

I used one of the Layering Squares to cut the focal point out.

I mounted all that on a piece of the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper. It’s bordered with Gold Foil. The card base is Pear Pizzaz, Old olive competed with the coloring in the focal point.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set!

Quick. Easy. Great to mass produce for the holiday season! Start now and have them DONE before you know it.

Go forward to check out Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know they’ll have some great

Happy. . . . Christmas in August

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

Here is our newest challenge –

Neat. Simple. Clean. Just my style!

I pulled out my pre-order items from Stampin’ Up to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Merry Christmas Thinlits, Merry Christmas to All, CCMC

I started with an exclusive Designer Series Paper, Dashing Along, available the month of September to hostesses. It’s lovely paper in traditional colors and patterns. You get a generous amount of sheets, perfect for card making and sending!

The embossed panel is a new folder called Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions embossing folder. It will be available September 5. It’s very, very pretty. It will be great for non-Christmas cards too!

The gold foiled sentiment, Happy, is a new set of word thinlits that will also be available September 5. I just LOVE these. Other words include, Merry, Holidays, and Christmas.

I think this would be a great mass-produced card for the holidays! Easy and elegant too!

If you like to know more about new holiday products, please contact me. I can get you a catalog so you’ll be ready to order on September 5!

The other Design Team members at Create with Connie and Mary have created some wonderful cards with this sketch as well.

It’s all in the Card

I have a quick share today. I know, a posting on a Friday, how special is that????

Last weekend I celebrated a milestone birthday. When I got back from my birthday trip to New York, I had two lovely handmade surprises in my mailbox!

One from a dear, talented friend, Charlene, who helps keep me in business!

Painted Glass, Graceful Glass DSP, Stained Glass Thinlits, Painted Glass Bundle, Layering Circles Framelits

Charlene created this using the Painted Glass stamp set, Stained Glass Thinlits, and the Graceful Glass Designer Series Paper. It’s just a beautiful card.

The other handmade card was from a fellow blogging friend, Crystal –

It is simple adorable! It’s not created with Stampin’ Up products. And, I’m not sure what she used to create this ‘souper cool’ card. Either way, it made my day to receive these!

Go make someones day and mail a card! You never know what positive impact you’ll have!

THANKS again Charlene and Crystal!

Love What You Do

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

Our newest challenge is a lovely color combination –

I went with a simple design using this Love What You Do stamp set. I haven’t giving it near the love it deserves!

libbystamps, stampin up, Love What You Do, Subtle Dynamic EF, Nature's Twine, CCMC

It’s a very simply created card, but very pretty!

I used a Sahara Sand base embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.

I used only one stamp set to create the stamped focal point. I thought placing the focal point askew worked well. The addition of the card stock peeking beneath it, softly showed the colors again.

Lastly, I finally used one of the Nature’s Twine to ‘tie’ it together. It’s a neutral, Crumb cake, but don’t tell anyone. It matches pretty good.

The Design Team members created some beautiful cards at Create with Connie and Mary to inspire you. You should check them out! I hope we encourage you to create along with us and post your card on our Facebook page.
