Blogging Friends Blog Hop – February – Red

Happy first day of February and, happy Three Post Thursday!

My second post is a blog hop for a group of us we call ourselves, Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

As you can see, our theme is Red.

What a bold color to feature, and my favorite color by the way!

I love using as much as I can when I create. Here is the perfect example…..

First card –

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Petal Palette, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Mini Heart, Petal Pair EF, Everyday Label

And, my second card –

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Petal Palette, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Mini Heart, Petal Pair EF, Everyday Label

See how the two cards use the negative and the positive cut out? And, they both use similar elements.

libbystamps, stampin up, BFBH, Petal Palette, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Mini Heart, Petal Pair EF, Everyday Label

Sentiment is from the same stamp set, Petal Palette, either framelit cut or punched out.

Both cards use the same embossing folder, Petal Pair. And, heart cut from the Lots to Love Box Framelits.

I hope you love these two cards and see just how to use all pieces when creating! Check out my other posts for today too – I have lots to share!

Blog hops are a continuous loop of blog that you travel to see their creations. Going forward, you’ll head over to, Mary, going back, you head to Crystal. Please take the time to leave a comment. I love hearing from you!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Petal Palette
  • Framelits – Lots to Love Box

Favorite New Framelits – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Hello my stampin’ friends! Thank you for joining me and the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop team today!

We have great projects today! Our theme this week is Favorite New Framelits.

Tough for me! I have two I really like –

libbystamps, stampin up, CCMC, Lots to Love Box Framelits, Petal Palette, Petal Palette Bundle, Petals & More Thinlits, Tutti-frutti Cards & Envelopes

Soooooo, I went with both!!!

First, the black stems are from the Petals & More Thinlits – SO many nice dies in this set! I cut two of these and flipped the one over the left heart.

Speaking of hearts, The gold hearts are the remains of last weeks card as I had it on my Card Buffet. (I keep these sorts of scraps!) It’s the Lots to Love Box Framelits.

All these elements, I placed on one of the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes available from Sale-a-Bration this year.

And, notice how the envelope is lined and the insides of the hearts match? Well, I used the inside of one of the envelopes for this. Additionally, the blue strip on the bottom of the card is the outside of the envelope!!

The red heart is a Sharpie colored Metallic Enamel Shape that is the perfect finishing touch for this card! Ties in the red sentiment.

Head forward to Debbie Henderson and see what her favorite framelit is, and go back to Mary Brown to see hers. I know you’ll be inspired by all of us!!

Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Stamp Set – Petal Palette
  • Framelits – Petals & More, Lots to Love Box
  • Bundles – Petal Palette
  • Card Stock – Basic Black, Gold Foil
  • Ink – Real Red
  • Other – Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes, Metallic Enamel Shape

You

Yes. You.

I designed a card for You and Create with Connie and Mary and our newest Thursday challenge –

Of course, a wonderful layout!

And, another card using the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set!

libbystamps, stampin up, Beautiful Day, Aqua Painter, Celebrate You Thinlits, Petal Pair Embossing Folder, CCMC

Isn’t this just lovely???

If you’ve been following my recent posts, you’ll know I’ve created two other cards using these colors! One is here and the other is here.

On my card for today, I embossed the butterfly using (retired) black embossing powder and colored the butterfly in a cool way.

Stampin’ Up pads are unique in that if you squish them while closed, ink will be left on the top of the case. By taking an Aqua Painter and dipping it in the ink, you’ll pick it up and you can color with it! I colored the butterfly in the same colors I had used previously, Tempting Turquoise, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst & Fresh Fig.

It created a similar, stunning look – but with a watercolor effect. I layered that beauty on the free Sale-a-Bration Tutti-Frutti Card & Envelopes. I also added an embossed layer too. The YOU thinlits are also Sale-a-Bration item too! So much good stuff this year!!

Ok. Check out the other Design Team cards at Create with Connie and Mary. I’m sure we will inspire you! Then you can link up your card on our Facebook page.

Comforting Cozy Quilt

Happy Thursday my friends! I’d like to share Create with Connie and Mary newest challenge –

Wonderful colors!

I’ve made lots Christmas cards lately, so I changed it today –

libbystamps, stampin up, Work of Art, Christmas Quilt, Quilt Top Embossing Folder, CCMC

The holiday season can be rough for some people. This is a perfect card for someone who’s having a bit of trouble during the holidays – don’t over look them.

I started with the Work of Art stamp set, (remember that one???) and stamped the lines in So Saffron. I paired the quilt lines with the ‘star’ shapes from the Christmas Quilt stamp set. Old and new!

The finishing touch was embossing the piece with the Quilt Top, also from the Holiday Mini.

The other Design Team members at Create with Connie and Mary created some wonderful cards using these colors. Check them out! If we inspired you, create a card and upload to our Facebook page! We’d love to see you there!

We Create – December Blog Hop

December??? Where has this year gone??

Welcome to the second post for today! This one is a Blog Hop too for We Create!

What we do is, ‘we create’ a card then ‘step it up’ or ‘step it over’.

I started with this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Watercolor Words, Merry Little Christmas, We Create

A very nice card! Wonderful – fun, bright, cheery colors! Then I stepped up the design……

……by adding some ribbon behind the sentiment that’s how! I never think to do this, but, it adds so much to a design.

Now, the card is a WOW! This was one of the choices at my November Card Buffet a couple of weeks ago and it was a total hit!!!

libbystamps, stampin up, Watercolor Words, Merry Little Christmas, We Create

I do love the addition of the ribbon. It just makes the card!

Take a little time and tell me your thoughts on the two cards. Then head to the talented Kris KilkennyStampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Watercolor Words
  • Card Stock – Berry Burst, Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist
  • Ink – Berry Burst
  • DSP – Merry Little Christmas

You’ve Got This

Sharing a card today that I made for a childhood friend of mine – yes, I actually had a card I needed to create for someone!

The card speaks for itself –

libbystamps, stampin up, Labeler Alphabet, Ribbon of Courage, Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon

I’m not very eloquent with words at a time like this, so, hopefully a card will convey what my words can not.

Her husband made her a binder with ‘Team Cheryl’ on it which was my inspiration for the card.

I designed the card first. I’m entering it into some challenges to spread the word. Make a card for that friend you know who needs it.

Espresso and Pumpkin

Well……that could mean a nice cup of stout coffee and a yummy fall treat or it could mean a color challenge!!!!

You grab the coffee and delicious treat and I’ll show you a couple of samples for our color challenge.

Downline color challenge #9. Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie.

Here is Carole’s beautiful card –

Carole C, stampin up

Love this stippled background. Very pretty especially since its is varying shades of Pumpkin Pie.

…and, of course, the inside –

The peak through for the sentiment is a great idea. She always goes the extra on her cards!

I am still hooked on this Seasonal Layers Thinlits –

libbystamps, stampin up, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Special Celebration, Painted Autumn DSP, Woodgrain EF, fall

I absolutely LOVE these leaves. And these sentiments that I forgot I had. Made for a simply pretty, quick card.

Thanks for stopping by today to get inspired by these lovely cards.

Happy Stampin’
Libby
