Blogging Friends Icon

In libbystamps style, I went one stamp set to feature, Lovely Inside & Out. I created three coordinating cards too.

In looking at some of the larger images from this set, they looked like animal print to me. So. I went with that as my starting point. I also used new In-color here, Lemon Lime Twist. Sort of yellow. Sort of green. Sort of great!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, BFBH, 2017-2019 In-Colors

This In-Color, Tranquil Tide is a bit softer. Reminds me of velvet. Such a soothing, calming color. And, my ink pad stamps like a dream!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely Inside & Out, BFBH, 2017-2019 In-ColorsThis is another sort of velvety color to me, Fresh Fig. It really popped against the ‘animal’ print here. I used two colors to stamp the background, Memento Black, stamped three times before inking it up again, and straight Sahara Sand. makes for a really fun design.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my one stamp wonder cards here too. They are SO fun! I love them!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – May – Retiring Favorites

May first and before we know it, the new catalog will be here. This is the first of two blog hops for the day!

Blogging Friends Icon

In honor of the current catalog ending, we will say farewell to some of out favorite Retiring Products. This post is all about retiring products. A few that I really liked out of several that are retiring!

I created five 4×4 cards to share. No particular order. libbystamps, stampin up, Nailed It Bundle, Nailed It. Build It Framelits, Sending Love DSP

From the Occasions Mini, the Nailed It bundle sold out as soon as it went on the retiring list. I just love it – so versatile and a masculine set for once! I paired it with the Sending Love Designer Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, Stylish Stems Framelits, Special Reason, Pop of Pink Specialty DSP

This Stylish Stems Framelits was my favorite flower framelit, also from the Occasions Mini. The coordinating Special Reason stamp set was ok, not my favorite as the words are too small. Of course, I purchased both of them. This paired well with the (soon to retire) Pop of Pink Specialty Designers Series Paper.

libbystamps, stampin up, T-Shirt Builder Framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, Custom Tee, 2015-2016 In-Colors

Of course, the In-Colors are always sad to see leave. At least they are around for a couple of years! My favorite color was the Cucumber Crush! I used the T-shirt Builder framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, to create this. These are also from the mini. I liked the ‘Happy Stamper’ stamp. That is SO usable for us!

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Fiesta Bundle, Birthday Fiesta, Fiesta Time Framelits, Festive Birthday DSP, Llama

From the large, main catalog. The Llama. Who does not love a llama? Who? This was an awesomely cute bundle! The designer series paper was pretty cool too.

libbystamps, stampin up, Fresh Fruit, Fruit Stand DSP, pears

The last stamp set I’ll share is the Fresh Fruit. I loved this. It was simply sweet.

libbystamps, stampin up, Gorgeous Grunge, Banners Framelits, Layered Letters Alphabet, 12x12 Kraft Card Stock, box

Lastly. The 12×12 Kraft card stock will no longer be available. I created (from scratch) a nifty box to hold all these cards. And, yes, the Banners Framelits, the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the Layered Letters Alphabet will not be in the upcoming catalog either. Gorgeous Grunge? I got so much use from this set!

libbystamps, stampin up

Whew. That’s a lot of retiring stuff! And, I didn’t even touch the tip of all the things I really loved from the 2016-2017 catalog. Not too sad though. Can’t be. Lots of new, wonderful items coming our way. If you feel compelled to need any of these or other items, please order here.

So, this is a blog hop, before heading over to talented, Mary Blocher, please leave me a comment.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – March

Bright and early mornin’ to you! This is the first of three posts of the day to get your creativity going. And, it’s a blog hop so grab some coffee and take a look at all the wonderful ideas we’ve got for you!

Our theme this month is, of course, Sale-a-Bration, or SAB as I like to call it. This is the last month to get all these free items.

Remember, this is a great time to stock up on ink refills, retiring In-Colors, markers, adhesives and envelopes. Things you need all the time but forget to order. Do it now and get something fun with those purchases!

On with the feature!

Blogging Friends Icon

So, so many products I could have went with for this hop. I decided to keep it simple.

Sale-a-Bration always gives away a DSP package. I used the same one in all three of my cards.

img_3955

This card shows off four of the patterns quite well. A simple, but stunning layout adapted from the brochure itself! It was featured at my February Card Buffet.

img_3957

This pattern I absolutely did NOT like. However, in this window card, I loved it! Guess it was the design or something.

img_3958

You get the idea of my window card a little better here.

img_3953

The last card shows off a stamp set I haven’t used much. It made for an adorable card though, didn’t it? This is my favorite card of the projects. It’s light and free, no pun intended.

img_3952

All together a great group of SAB cards!

Please leave me some kind words now that your cup of coffee is empty!

This is a blog hop, so head on over to Mary Blocher to see what she has done with this months Sale-a-bration theme!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – February

Welcome to our February Blogging Friends Blog Hop, the month of love!

We have a guest blogger again this month, Tami White. Welcome, Tami!

Our theme this month is, of course, LOVE.

Blogging Friends Icon

This was quite convenient for me.  My hubs was going to visit his mother (in Holland, we’re in Texas) for her birthday. I always like to make him love notes to stash in his suitcase!

I went with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits from the big idea book and catalog. I paired it with a 6×6 DSP stack from the mini, Sending Love.

I wanted to show you the versatility of our dies and to use every part of it.

In this first card, I used the outer part of the heart die cut –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notes

I paired it with the inner part of the love die. I did plan that I would be using the outer portion and started with a square to create a 3×3 card.

Most people only use this portion of this die, the sweet, scribbly heart –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notes

Of course, it’s a great choice because it’s just too cute. You can see that I used it with the outer portion of the love die this time. I also don’t want to waste any of the Glimmer paper either!

Lastly, I used the center of the heart –

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notes

It’s kinda funky and I really like the style of it! (I had a Card Buffet a couple of weeks ago and we used the inner part of the U’s then – I saved the outer parts!) This card just says, love U! How sweet is that?

libbystamps, stampin up, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Large Letters Framelits, Silver Glimmer Paper, Sending Love DSP, BFBH, 3x3, love notesAll together, some mighty fine cards to be stashed away between clothes to let the hubs know how much I love and miss him!

What do you think? Have I inspired you to used all pieces of a die cut out? I’d love to read your comments!

And, of course, this is a blog hop, so head on over to Mary Blocher to see what she has done with this months theme of love!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – January

Welcome to our first Blogging Friends Blog Hop for 2017!!!!! Happy New Year to all!

We have a guest blogger this month, Janet Wakeland. Welcome, Janet!

Our theme this month is, of course, the new Occasions Mini catalogs. (Products will be available January 4, 2017!!!)

Blogging Friends Icon

After looking through my new items to create with, I decided to keep it simple and go with a new set of embossing folders, called Celebrations Duo (sorry, they are not able to be listed in the supply list below).

I made this wonderful colorful birthday card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Celebrations, Celebrations Duo EF, birthday, BFBH

Isn’t the embossing really cool? It’s deep and curled the card stock a bit. But this look is really cool for this simple birthday wish!

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Celebrations, Celebrations Duo EF, birthday, BFBH

I just repeated the sentiment, BIRTHDAY TO YOU!, in coordinating colors. Adds a nice touch!

The other card I created used the same folder (there are two in the pack) and I wanted to show the versatility of the folder –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Celebrations, Celebrations Duo EF, birthday, BFBH

As you can see, I stamped around the embossed image to create even more of a focal point with it!

The way this image is designed, the lettering is really thin in the center. So, when you stamp around it, it actually picks up the color in the inside lettering too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Celebrations, Celebrations Duo EF, birthday, BFBH

How cool is this? I think I’m going to be using this folder a lot! It makes for quick and easy cards, not to mention, the WOW factor too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Celebrations, Celebrations Duo EF, birthday, BFBH

Together, a GREAT pair of coordinating cards great for anyone!

I’d love for you to take a moment to leave a comment before moving on to the person on the hop. Bloggers love to read what you think of our creations! It’s what keeps us going!

November Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Hello November!!!! Hope you Halloween was fun, festive and safe!

Welcome to another Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Our theme this month is the stamp set, Lovely as a Tree! You know it, a classic that’s been around Stampin Up forever!

Blogging Friends Icon

Here is my first card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Pines, Layering Ovals Framelits, BFBH

I decided to mix way old (Lovely as a Tree) with way new (colors and stamp set) and go with a Christmas card.

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Pines, Layering Ovals Framelits, BFBH

I love these colors together too! I’m a true red and green gal when it comes to decor and personal style, but I love expanding the Christmas color pallet and trying new combinations. This. I. Love.

Of course, when you hear the name, Lovely as a Tree, the image in this card is what come to mind. I’m most certain –

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Pines, Real red 3/4 Stitched Edge Ribbon, BFBH

It’s the classic image!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Pines, Real red 3/4 Stitched Edge Ribbon, BFBH

I just had to create something using it. I once again mixed way old and way new using the same stamp set. The addition of the glimmer paper and ribbon is very elegant.

As I put these two clean stamps away, I noticed a tiny leaf stamp in the box. Sure enough, it’s part of the set too. I just had to use it because I can’t say I really have ever seen it used before!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Acorny Thank You, Layering Ovals Framelits, Copper Foil, Copper Metallic Thread, BFBH

Mixed with the Copper Foil – a WINNER!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Acorny Thank You, Layering Ovals Framelits, Copper Foil, Copper Metallic Thread, BFBH

The Copper Metallic Thread helped too! This turned out to be a very fall-like card. But, oh so lovely!

libbystamps, stampin up, Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Pines, Acorny Thanks You, BFBH

I hope you enjoyed my spread of Lovely as a Tree cards! Please leave some happy reading! Bloggers love to read comments!

October Catalog Favorites, Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Welcome fall! Cooler temps. Pumpkins. Rustling leaves.

……and the first of three posts! This is for Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Blogging Friends Icon

You might have came from Anna Masciovecchio to visit me.

Our theme this month is Mini Catalog favorites. As many of you have seen the Stampin’ Up Holiday mini catalog, it’s probably the whole book, right? Well, I had to narrow it down a bit.

My favorites would have to be some stamp sets, a punch, some of the DSP, the trims and the new foil.

I created a little holiday treat bag ensemble to show them off –

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Layering Circles Framelits

Can you say,  A D O R A B L E ????

I made four bags that would be appropriate to use over the next few months for treats, small gifts or even a gift card!

They all have the same size wrap around band and a velcro closure. I also placed a firm piece of cardboard in the bottom to give the bag more stability. Measurements are at the end.

This first bag is really a fall/winter treat bag. It never really get that cold here for cable knit sweaters……..but, I love this Cable Knit Dynamic embossing folder to create the look of one!

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cable Knit Dynamic EF, Layering Circles Framelits, Copper Foil

I paired it with the new Copper Foil. It’s such a much have! Here a made a ‘button’ to show it off. Couldn’t you image hot chocolate or s’mores treats in this?? So so cozy!

The Halloween bag is pretty simple. So great for spooky treats!

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Halloween Night Specialty, Layering Circles Framelits

I used the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set in and the Cookie Cutter Builder punch. Because I used a blender pen to add some detail to the mummy, I stamped him in Staz On first then onto Shimmery White Card Stock. This paper works nicely with the blender pen.

For fall/thanksgiving, I went with this little detailed scarecrow on the bag –

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Halloween, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Serene Scenery, DSP, Layering Circles Framelits, Kraft Rope Trim

I used Serene Scenery DSP for this one. (It’s in the larger catalog.) I also used my blender pen and a few ink pads to color him in on Shimmery White Card Stock. He’s sooo cute! The new Kraft Rope trim helped to add lots of detail to his arms and legs. Looks like real straw, right?

The Christmas bag finishes off the ensemble

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, treat bag, Blogging Friends Blog Hop, Cookie Cutter Christmas, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Layering Circles Framelits

It’s nothing too fussy. By the time Christmas rolls around, no one has much time or energy to craft! It’s a simple stamped image detailed with a piece ribbon on the side.

Now that you’ve seen my treat bags, here’s how I created them.

Treat Bag Basic –

  • start with Kraft Tag a Bag Gift bags
  • remove 1/8th off the bottom to open bag up
  • on the bottom, score at 1 1/2, parallel to bottom
  • rotate twice, score 1 1/2 from top (the outer most part of the serrated curve)
  • parallel to the outer edge, cut 1″ up to score line
  • repeat for other side
  • fold ‘bottom’ score lines inward creating bottom
  • sides remain puffy to flat towards the top
  • fold down top score line
  • inside piece for the sturdy cardboard bottom 2 5/8 x 2

Bag Band –

  • 2 x 8 1/2 strip of card stock
  • 2 DSP pieces, 2 x 1 3/4 and 2 3/4 x 1 3/4
  • adhere to outside flaps

libbystamps, stampin up, Tag A Bag Gift Bags, Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Pretty simple? Please email me if you have any questions!

Now that you’ve seen a sampling of some of my favorites, head on over to Anne Power to see what her favorites are!
