CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Farewell to Sale-a-Bration

Time for a nice Saturday blog hop for Create with Connie and Mary!

This week our theme is Sale-a-Bration. You know, make a $50 Stampin’ Up purchase (before shipping and tax) choose a free item from a special selection of made-for-Sale-a-Bration only items.  So, this can mean any number of products to show you!

I chose three to show you in one card!

libbystamps, stampin up, Avant Garden, Inside the Lines DSP, 3/8 Metallic Ribbon

The card base has a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Inside the Lines DSP adhered to it. I layered it with a Avant Garden stamped panel, finishing it off with a piece of 3/8 Metallic Ribbon in silver.

libbystamps, stampin up, Avant Garden, Inside the Lines DSP, 3/8 Metallic Ribbon

I thought the black and white made for a dramatic, stunning card.

I did have a friend in mind when I chose this sentiment from the Avant Garden stamp set. She has lots of health issues, but takes each doctor visit, medical procedure or debilitating day with a load of humor! She keeps everyone in lots laughter as she is in grave pain!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Going Green

Time for a Saturday blog hop for Create with Connie and Mary!

sp15sathopwelcome

Our theme this week is Going Green. That could mean several things. A green card, St. Patrick’s Day, recycling, to name a few.

I decided to go with a green card featuring ‘shamrocks’ just for you –

libbystamps, stampin up, Create with Connie and Mary, Fresh Fruit, Watercolor Words, Lots of Labels FramelitsA simply sweet card! Great for lots of occasions to let someone know you’re thinking of them.

libbystamps, stampin up, Create with Connie and Mary, Fresh Fruit, Watercolor Words, Lots of Labels Framelits

I stamped flowers from the Fresh Fruit stamp and cut the fifth petal up the center to create the stem. On each one, I used a different petal to create the stem. The result? A more natural shamrock look. Kinda cool, huh?

These nifty, thinking outside the box sort of things can be found in our tutorials through Create with Connie and Mary. Check the other great designers and see what they have to share with you today and take the time to leave us a comment!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Fresh Fruit, Watercolor Words
  • Framelits –  Lots of Labels Framelits,
  • Card Stock – Whisper White
  • Ink – Emerald Envy
  • DSP – 2016-2018 Envelope Liner Paper
  • Other – Whisper White Thick Baker’s Twine

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Encouragement / Sympathy

Time for a quick Saturday blog hop for Create with Connie and Mary!

sp15sathopwelcome

Our theme this week is Encouragement/Sympathy.

I was a bit stumped on this as I’m sure you are – especially, when you need one of these cards – you’re never in the frame of mind to create one.

I created one that would be suitable for anyone going through something challenging –

libbystamps, stampin up, Designer Tee, Stylish Stems Framelits, Stylish Stems, sympathy, encouragement, Sale-a-Bration 2017, SAB17

Clean lines. Simple colors. Made with free stuff. Can’t get anymore comforting than this.

libbystamps, stampin up, Designer Tee, Stylish Stems Framelits, Stylish Stems, sympathy, encouragement, Sale-a-Bration 2017, SAB17

This framelit shape I thought was unique and perfect for this fold over style. The top one, I stapled a piece of Baker’s twine to the edge and just tied it in a bow. A simple, yet effective embellishment. The bottom one, I just stamped my sentiment in two parts (because it wouldn’t fit all the way across) and folded it under the DSP.

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Designer Tee (free during Sale-a-Bration)
  • Framelits – Stylish Stems
  • Card Stock – Smokey Slate, Mint Macaron,Whisper White
  • Ink – Night of Navy
  • DSP – Carried Away (free during Sale-a-Bration)
  • Other – Stapler, Night of Navy Baker’s Twine, Stampin’ Write Markers

Make a Wish, We Create March Blog Hop

Save the best for last? Um, maybe. This is the third post for today, and it’s for We Create Bloggers!

e7ca1-wcbh2016

I decided to go with the same layout this month and use different color schemes.

Here is the first simply sweet card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Window Shopping, Window Box Thinlits, Brights DSP Stack, Playful Palette, We Create, birthday

I say sweet because it uses Sweet Sugarplum and the new Sale-a-Bration glimmer paper pack you can get, For Free.

My other card is geared to be a bit more masculine and uses the Bermuda Bay glimmer paper and coordinating DSP.

libbystamps, stampin up, Window Shopping, Window Box Thinlits, Brights DSP Stack, Playful Palette, We Create, birthday

Yes, both of these, plus Mint Macaron Glimmer paper come in the 6×6 Glimmer Paper Assortment, 12 sheets, 4 of each color!

libbystamps, stampin up, Window Shopping, Window Box Thinlits, Brights DSP Stack, Playful Palette, We Create, birthday Two great cards. One great layout!

What do you think? Best was saved for last?

Leave a comment before going onto the next talented designer, Julie Wadlinger – and we all love to read your comments!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – March

Bright and early mornin’ to you! This is the first of three posts of the day to get your creativity going. And, it’s a blog hop so grab some coffee and take a look at all the wonderful ideas we’ve got for you!

Our theme this month is, of course, Sale-a-Bration, or SAB as I like to call it. This is the last month to get all these free items.

Remember, this is a great time to stock up on ink refills, retiring In-Colors, markers, adhesives and envelopes. Things you need all the time but forget to order. Do it now and get something fun with those purchases!

On with the feature!

Blogging Friends Icon

So, so many products I could have went with for this hop. I decided to keep it simple.

Sale-a-Bration always gives away a DSP package. I used the same one in all three of my cards.

img_3955

This card shows off four of the patterns quite well. A simple, but stunning layout adapted from the brochure itself! It was featured at my February Card Buffet.

img_3957

This pattern I absolutely did NOT like. However, in this window card, I loved it! Guess it was the design or something.

img_3958

You get the idea of my window card a little better here.

img_3953

The last card shows off a stamp set I haven’t used much. It made for an adorable card though, didn’t it? This is my favorite card of the projects. It’s light and free, no pun intended.

img_3952

All together a great group of SAB cards!

Please leave me some kind words now that your cup of coffee is empty!

This is a blog hop, so head on over to Mary Blocher to see what she has done with this months Sale-a-bration theme!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Color It

I am quite honored to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop for a couple of months!

wi15sathopwelcome

Our theme is Color It. That could be lots of things! Stamped images, dies cuts, coloring paper.

Perfect timing to pull out this Sale-a-Bration DSP!

I made a 3 1/2 x 5 fold over acetate card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Inside the Lines, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Watercooler Pencils, CCMC Blog HopIt’s pretty. It’s fresh! I used the new Watercooler Pencils to color the flowers first. I went over them with a blender pen to soften to look of everything.

libbystamps, stampin up, Inside the Lines, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Watercooler Pencils, CCMC Blog Hop

I added the acetate to the back of the DSP, then adhered it to Daffodil Delight. For a little added weight to the card front, I added the sentiment and double strips (one on front, one underneath) of card stock along the edge. I also put one on the card base for jotting down a note.

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – actually, none!
  • Card Stock – Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
  • DSP – Inside the Lines (FREE, Sale-a-Bration DSP)
  • Ink – none either!
  • Dies – Sunshine Wishes Thinlits
  • Other – Watercooler Pencils, , Blender Pens, Basic Black Baker’s Twine
