Mailable Christmas Card – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week is a Mailable Christmas cards.

I’d like to say, I hope all my cards are mailable, lol! But, for this, I did create a card with minimal height –

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Quilt Builder, Quilted Christmas 6x6 DSP, CCMC

It sure has the WOW factor even though it’s simply done.

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Quilt Builder, Quilted Christmas 6x6 DSP, CCMC

I used a piece of the Quilted Christmas 6×6 Designer Series paper for this inside! It was already printed with the quilt – perfect for this quick and elegant mailable card!

I used the stamp from the October Paper Pumpkin. It was just the right size to place under the quilt cut out.

I am excited to see the other mailable cards that our Design Team has created! Aren’t you? Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired! Perhaps you might even get to working on your Christmas cards this holiday weekend!

Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Framelits – Quilt Builder
  • Card Stock – Whisper White
  • Ink – Black Memento
  • DSP – Quilted Christmas
Happy Stampin’

The Beauty of Fall – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

What a wonderful Saturday! Great day to check out the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Our theme this week is The Beauty of Fall.

This is perfect because I LOVE fall. It’s my favorite time of the year.

I created a nice fall card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Layering Circles Framelits, Painted Autumn DSP, Colorful Season, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Gold Metallic Thread, CCMC

It’s really fun! I combined a variety of patterns from the Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper as well as some stamping!

The leaves I inked up in the Crushed Curry, then rocked the outer portion in the different ink pads to get this effect on the leaves. It’s a gorgeous, easy, and a must try technique!

I even got fancy – fancy and wrapped the gold thread behind the circle. These sort of things I struggle to get the look I want!

I am sure the other Design Team members created wonderful fall cards too!

Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired!

Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Stamp Set – Painted Harvest, Colorful Season
  • Framelits – Seasonal Layers, Layering Circles
  • Card Stock – Very Vanilla
  • Ink – Early Espresso
  • DSP – Painted Autumn
  • Other – Gold Metallic Thread
Happy Stampin’

And We Give Thanks – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday! Time to share for Create with Connie and Mary and our Saturday blog hop.

Our theme this week is ‘We give thanks’. Great way to start the month of November!

libbystamps, stampin up, All Things Thanks, Painted Autumn DSP, Everyday Label Punch, CCMC

This Soft Sky blue is a great fall blue! It looks wonderful with these additional fall colors.

This card was simply created by adhering a piece of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper to the card base. I added the stamped and punched sentiment from All Things Thanks. The Everyday Label Punch fit this sentiment perfectly! I tied Pool Party Baker’s twine around the card. The color looks close to Soft Sky. Easy, easy.

Going forward, check out Debbie Henderson, and going back, Mary Brown.

I know you’ll be inspired with their takes on our ‘We Give Thanks’ theme!

Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Card Stock – Soft Sky, Very Vanilla

We Create – November Blog Hop

Hello November! Welcome to the second of three posts today! This one is a Blog Hop for We Create!

What we do is, ‘we create’ a card then ‘step it up’ or ‘step it over’.

I created this stunning black and white card for my October Card Buffet –

…….and loved it!

I decided to step it over with similar colors –

Conveniently, from the same pack of Designer Series Paper! I changed the stamping up a bit to Old Olive. This turned out lovely too.

I think I still like the original black and white best though. How about you?

Tell me your thoughts on the two cards. Leave a comment before going on to the talented Kris Kilkenny – we all love to read your comments!  Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Stamp Set – Painted Harvest
  • Bundles – Painted Harvest
  • Card Stock – Whisper White, Old Olive, Basic Black
  • Ink – Black Memento, Old Olive
  • DSP – Merry Little Christmas
  • Punches – Leaf
Happy Stampin’

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – November – Fall/Thanksgiving

Happy November 1st and a happy Blogging Friends Blog Hop morning! I’ve missed the past couple of months! Glad to be back!

Busy day for me. This is the first of three posts today. Around 7:00 am, another blog hop and a regular post.

Blogging Friends Icon

Our theme this month is Fall/Thanksgiving !

This is very fitting as it’s taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things with all that has happened. I am grateful to be back!

Every year at my Card Buffets, one of the choices has been some sort of Gratitude Journal. This year will be no different. I created a simple, elegant one using the October Paper Pumpkin from Stampin’ Up –

libbystamps, stampin up, Layered Leaves Paper Pumpkin, October 2017, Paper Pumpkin

These were the little pillow boxes included in the kit. I left them seamed on one side and trimmed them down on the other sides. I added paper to the inside stamped with leaves from the set. Simple. Elegant. Easy.

Here is what the kit looked like –

Before heading over to talented, Mary, please leave me a comment. I love hearing from you!

Trick or Treat – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Just a few days until Halloween. Create with Connie and Mary would like to help you get ready for last-minute holiday candy giving with our Saturday blog hop.

Our theme this week is Treat Holders! Perfect idea.

I saw these cute little Clear Tiny Treat Boxes in the Holiday Mini catalog (yes, they are in the big idea book, but, I overlooked them) decorated for Halloween. I thought this was a great idea for my September and October Card Buffets.

This is how I decorated them –

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Cat, Spooky Cat Bundle, Spooky Night DSP, Cat Punch, Washi Label Punch, CCMC

Super cute and, oh, so easy!

I alternated the punched printed cats and I used the same Designer Series Pattern to wrap the box. It reverses well here depending on the cat you punch. I wrapped the box with retired baker’s twine from Stampin Up (last year).

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Cat, Spooky Cat Bundle, Spooky Night DSP, Cat Punch, Washi Label Punch, CCMC

I found candy corn taffy to fill these boxes perfectly.

I think I’ll be making more of these to pass out to co-workers. They are too quick to create!

All the Design Team members have created some great treat holders. Check them out. Go forward to Debbie Henderson. Go back to Mary Brown.

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Spooky Cat
  • Bundles – Spooky Cat
  • Card Stock – Very Vanilla
  • Ink – Black Memento, Pumpkin Pie
  • DSP – Spooky Night
  • Punches – Cat Punch, Washi Label (retired)
  • Other – retired combo Baker’s Twine
Happy Stampin’

You’ve been Boo’d – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

What, about three (OMG) two more weeks until Halloween? Well, we’ve got lots of great ideas for you here on the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop for the next three Saturdays.

Our theme this week is funny, ‘you’ve been boo’d’! We are using the word ‘boo’ on our cards.

Not a problem. I’ve been wanting to use the Creep it Real stamp set a few more times before the month is up.

libbystamps, stampin up, Spooky Cat, Creep it Real, Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits, Pick a Pattern DSP,  CCMC

I just started stamping the word ‘boo’ and set it aside. Found some black and white Designer Series Paper from Pick a Pattern (it’s on special until the end of the month!!!) and looked for something that resembled ghosts.

I don’t have the Paisley Framelits, which make awesome non-ghost ghosts, but, I do have the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits. There is the Pick a Pumpkin bundle that has a gourd stamp and framelit. The framelit worked like a charm to create a little ghost! And, the eyes from the Spooky Cat worked soo good here!

I added the smallest Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the inside of the eyes for some added drama. It was indeed the right added touch!

So, for more added BOOness, go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired!

Supplies –

  • Stamp Set – Creep it Real, Spooky Cat
  • Framelits – Patterned Pumpkins
  • Card Stock – Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie (duh), Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White
  • Ink – Black Memento
  • DSP – Pick a Pattern (on sale)
  • Punches – 1 1/4″ Circle
  • Other – Black Rhinestone Jewels
Happy Stampin’
Libby

And, for more inspiration, check out the new Create with Connie and Mary tutorial. The October Session is now open!!
