Hooray, Broadway Bound

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

We’ve been ‘CASEing’ the new Stampin’ Up catalog! Today we are using an image from page 5 –

I love the simple design of this image! I decided to play with the Broadway Bound Suite of products again to create this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Broadway Birthday, Broadway Lights Framelits, Broadway Birthday Bundle, Broadway Bound  DSP, CCMC

Isn’t this simply fun???? I love it!

The ‘HOORAY’ stamped image should be solid, but, sometimes it doesn’t stamp perfectly. And, that’s ok! Just GO with it!

I’ll be using this card at my Open House on the 23rd – I like my customers to see these kind of imperfections. Because, its totally ok!

There are some wonderful takes on this catalog inspiration on our Create with Connie and Mary blog. Check them out.

Want to play around with the sketch yourself? Please do! Link it up on our Facebook page!

WISH. Big.

Happy Try Stampin’ on Tuesday Tuesday! We have a wonderful new sketch this week to inspire you –

Optional Theme : Bold Sentiment

I loved it! It inspired this –

libbystamps, stampin up, Broadway Bound Suite, Broadway Bound DSP, Lovely Lipstick, TSOT

Which just might be the inspiration for my Open House / Garage Sale on Saturday, June 23! This card is easily reproduced in mass and can be made quick using minimal supplies! Perfect for the fast pace of an Open House!

Both the Designer Series Paper and the die cut sentiment are from the Broadway Bound Suite. The paper is stunning with gold, silver and black on one side. Gorgeous coordination on the other side with Lovely Lipstick, Lemon Lime Twist and Gray Granite.

I’m going to see how I can incorporate the colors to show case the new In-Colors. Here, I did it with Lovely Lipstick. Fingers crossed.

See the other Design Team cards or submit your own on our blog, Try Stampin’ on Tuesday, or on our Facebook page.

Friday Variety

Happy Friday!

Haven’t been around on a Friday in a great while or posted cards from my downline and sideline sisters! We felt it was time!

I started with the (color) challenges again! Here is the inspiration colors courtesy of Joan

Something , simple, bright and FUN!

I chose a birthday card –

libbystamps, stampin up,

To create the split sentiment, I just taped over what I did not want to ink up. Then I removed the tape to stamp. Super easy technique to try!

Everyone else went with flowers!

Happy Birthday from the Gang

Happy Tuesday! Got a wonderful share for Try Stampin on Tuesday today!

We have a new layout challenge –

Challenge #366. Optional Theme : Critter Crazy

I immediately went to this soon-to-retire stamp set, We Must Celebrate, from the Occasions Catalog because of all the cute animals!

libbystamps, stampin up, We Must Celebrate, Layering Ovals Framelits, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, TSOT,

I stamped the focal image. Then I realized it was slightly larger than the framelit I was using. No problem! I just cut around the ears, foot and tail of the animals to make it work! I love how those parts hang over.

To highlight the animals, I colored the background using the lighter Blends markers in Pool Party. This was accented by the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper. Sadly, it recently went on the retired list, sold out quickly, and is no longer available.

The other Design Team members created some wonderful cards on the Try Stampin on Tuesday blog. You should check them out.

You can create a card using our challenge and upload it to our blog or Facebook page. Hope to see you there!

Favorite Retiring Stamp Set/Bundle – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Hello my Saturday friends! Time for our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features our Favorite Retiring Bundle.

I have featured several of my favorite retiring stamp sets and bundles – there are just soo many to love!

This time I went with a bundle/suite that I will really miss –

libbystamps, stampin up, Birthday Delivery, Birthday Delivery Bundle, Lots of Labels Framelits, Birthday Friends Framelits, Birthday Memories DSP, CCMC

The Birthday Memories Suite or the Birthday Delivery Bundle. All these products are just adorable! I love how the paper has all these images that can be framelit cut with the coordinating framelits! Requires minimal stamping if you desire. Also, makes creating a card like this so easy! Not to mention stinkin’ cute!

Another great item retiring on my card – the Lots of Labels framelits. I will really miss those. I used them all the time. Sadly, they have already sold out. Guess something equally as cool will be introduced!

I bet Debbie Henderson, and Mary Brown and the rest of the blog hop members will have some really must buy ideas. I can’t wait!

Happy Tuesday!

This is part one of Two Post Tuesday for me! It’s for –

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Optical Illusion card, BFBH

It’s called an Impossible Card! Have you ever heard of it? I had not, but, I’ve seen it all over the interweb!

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Optical Illusion card, BFBHA nifty side view. It does fold flat into an envelope too!

libbystamps, stampin up, Happy Birthday Thinlits, Lovely Words Thinlits, Optical Illusion card, BFBHI used the Petal Passion Designer Series paper on the card and coordinating envelope. I colored it with the new Blends markers!

I can see making more of these as they are way too easy!

Don’t Box Me In – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday my blogging friends! Time for a Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features boxes!

Handmade boxes are the best because you can customize them to just about any size you need. And, with all the fabulous Designer Series Papers Stampin’ Up has – you can’t go wrong!

I made this darling 3 x 3 box with a peachy top –

libbystamps, stampin up, Beautiful Bouquet, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Banner Triple Punch,Gold 3/8 Metallic Edge Ribbon, CCMCWith an adorable tag to match –

libbystamps, stampin up, Beautiful Bouquet, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Banner Triple Punch,Gold 3/8 Metallic Edge Ribbon, CCMCI started with a Very Vanilla base of 7 x 7. Scored at 2 inches on all four sides. Make cuts and assemble, creating a basic open box.

The lid is (just retired) Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper cut at 6 x 6.

It is has two scores lines on all four sides. To make a snug fit on the lid, whatever your base is made of, take a straight scrap of the same card stock, fold it in half and place it on the left side of your Simply Scored to move the paper slightly away from the left side. Score at 1/2, and 1 1/2. You will cut away a few of the extra pieces, making this also a basic ‘box’ that is used as the lid.

I decorated the box when it was done! I cut a couple of peaches from the paper and stamped the perfect image from Beautiful Bouquet!

I am so excited to see what Debbie Henderson, and Mary Brown created!
