Watercooler Wednesday 142 – Fiona’s All About Christmas Challenge

As some are prepping for Thanksgiving, others are prepping for a weekend of creativity! Perhaps some inspiration from Watercooler Wednesday will help!

We have a new challenge from Fiona –

Perfect timing! I had a home show this past weekend. The ladies wanted to create Christmas cards…..so, this one of the ones we created –  libbystamps, stampin up, Watercolor Christmas, Everyday Label Punch, Many Mittens Framelits, Christmas Around the World DSP, WWC,

I just absolutely love this style of card! It quick and fun! And, it’s really a show stopper. The ladies really liked it! A real no fail design!

The other Design Team members created some wonderful Christmas cards too! Check them out! You can also link up a card on our Watercooler Wednesday site too!

Watercolor Season of Cheer

Happy Tuesday my friends! I’ve got a fun card designed for Try Stampin on Tuesday to share with you.

This is our Design Team sketch to inspire you –

Challenge #349. Optional Theme : Silver Bells or Easel Card

Hmmm. I had to give this some thought….I do not have any bell stamps or framelits or punches…..but, I can do an easel card!

Here is the outside of the card. It’s a Christmas Card kit from the 2017 Holiday Mini, Watercolor Christmas Project Kit –

libbystamps, stampin up, Watercolor Christmas, Watercolor Christmas Project Kit, TSOT

The kit has some beautiful cards to finish.

As you open my card, you’ll notice just what I mean –

libbystamps, stampin up, Watercolor Christmas, Watercolor Christmas Project Kit, TSOT

And, finally, the big easel reveal –

libbystamps, stampin up, Watercolor Christmas, Watercolor Christmas Project Kit, TSOT

Isn’t this pretty?? I love how it turned out!

I used two of the cards from the kit. The card measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2, square, when closed. What I cut off the card base, I used to adhere to the inside of the card below the gold strip (part of an envelope liner).

Simple. Cute. Quick.

The designers on the Try Stampin on Tuesday Design Team created some really stunning cards too! You can see them on our blog or on our Facebook page. You can also upload your take on our sketch to either the blog or the Facebook page. We’d love for you to join us!

Mailable Christmas Card – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week is a Mailable Christmas cards.

I’d like to say, I hope all my cards are mailable, lol! But, for this, I did create a card with minimal height –

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Quilt Builder, Quilted Christmas 6x6 DSP, CCMC

It sure has the WOW factor even though it’s simply done.

libbystamps, stampin up, Pinning for Plaid, Quilt Builder, Quilted Christmas 6x6 DSP, CCMC

I used a piece of the Quilted Christmas 6×6 Designer Series paper for this inside! It was already printed with the quilt – perfect for this quick and elegant mailable card!

I used the stamp from the October Paper Pumpkin. It was just the right size to place under the quilt cut out.

I am excited to see the other mailable cards that our Design Team has created! Aren’t you? Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired! Perhaps you might even get to working on your Christmas cards this holiday weekend!

OnStage Card Shares

This past weekend, I went to Stampin’ Up’s convention, OnStage. I went this year for two reasons :

One. I’ve been a Stampin’ Up demonstrator for 10 years (as of September 5th) and you get to do that fun walk across the stage.

Two. I finally have advanced in title after all these years and hard work.

I was pretty excited! Made some new friends, saw some old friends, and meet online friends (fellow Design Team members) in person!

I participated in an organized SWAP for SUDSOL and made this card –

libbystamps, stampin up,

Well, one I glue wrong and it became this –

libbystamps, stampin up,

With the leftover pieces, I made this for general swaps –

libbystamps, stampin up,

Both card were so pretty and made others happy and eager to trade! Photos were taken in the hotel on the bed!!! Lol!

Got to get working on classes for this upcoming weekend!

Happy Stampin’

The Beauty of Fall – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

What a wonderful Saturday! Great day to check out the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Our theme this week is The Beauty of Fall.

This is perfect because I LOVE fall. It’s my favorite time of the year.

I created a nice fall card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Painted Harvest, Layering Circles Framelits, Painted Autumn DSP, Colorful Season, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Gold Metallic Thread, CCMC

It’s really fun! I combined a variety of patterns from the Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper as well as some stamping!

The leaves I inked up in the Crushed Curry, then rocked the outer portion in the different ink pads to get this effect on the leaves. It’s a gorgeous, easy, and a must try technique!

I even got fancy – fancy and wrapped the gold thread behind the circle. These sort of things I struggle to get the look I want!

I am sure the other Design Team members created wonderful fall cards too!

Go forward to Debbie Henderson, and back to Mary Brown. I know you’ll be inspired!

Stampin’ Up Supplies

  • Stamp Set – Painted Harvest, Colorful Season
  • Framelits – Seasonal Layers, Layering Circles
  • Card Stock – Very Vanilla
  • Ink – Early Espresso
  • DSP – Painted Autumn
  • Other – Gold Metallic Thread

Mitten Mitten

Happy Thursday! Welcome to a Create with Connie and Mary new sketch challenge.

Today we have some beautiful colors to inspire you –

When I looked at these colors, I had thoughts of warmth and softness. So that is what I translated onto my card –

libbystamps, stampin up, SSmitten Mittens, Colorful Seasons, Smitten Mittens Bundle, Many Mittens, Whole Lot of Lovely DSP, Layering Circles Framelits, CCMC

Don’t these look like really soft cozy mittens? Amazing how you can invoke this in a card design!

To start off, I used the Smitten Mittens bundle to create this card. I stamped the mittens and trim on a sheet from the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (it’s actually the same sheet, just front and back!). Added the sentiment and stamped the snowflakes for a little dimension.

When it was finished, I felt it needed a little something, so I added the baker’s twine to the mitten edges.

Everyone on the Create with Connie and Mary Design team create some lovely cards! Go check them out.

When we inspire you, you can link up you card on our Facebook page!

Stampin’ Up Supplies –

Oh, Joy!

Quick post to start you week off creatively!

Instead of designing for one of my teams I’m on – I’m playing with someone else’s challenge!

Today, it’s for a long time love of mine, Freshly Made Sketches.

,

They always have clean, simple designs that are very easy to create with. I was drawn to this one.

libbystamps, stampin up, Boxwood Wreaths Embellishments, Quilted Christmas 1/4 Ribbon, FMS311

I went with colors of red and green. Perhaps Christmas colors, but the sentiment could evoke really anything! Of course, adding the wreath and the ribbon makes this totally Christmas!

libbystamps, stampin up, Boxwood Wreaths Embellishments, Quilted Christmas 1/4 Ribbon, FMS311

The up close of this mini wreath because it sooo sweet! A great addition to the card, don’t you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Card Stock – Real Red
