Tuesday Tips

I have had several inquiries about instructions/directions for my 12 Gift Card Ideas ’til Christmas.

So, I decided to give you some basic information on each card that I have created so far. They will be my TIPS for creating the 12 Weeks of Gift Card Ideas ’til Christmas.

Click on each week to see the original posting and pictures of the card and all the Stampin’ Up supplies needed to make that card. Below is just my *blue pattern* and basic directions for each card.

3×6 Gift Card

  • 2 6×6 DSP
  • score each @ 3
  • use Word Window Punch on left side of 1 piece
  • apply Sticky Strip as shown in yellow
  • fold top of each down at a 45 degree angle or trim off 45 degree angle
  • stack 2 pieces on top of each other, Word Window Punch punched piece on top
  • adhere together along the sides & bottom with Sticky Strip
  • decorate
  • add belly band for closure or a paperclip like this post (scroll down)

Double Z Fold Card

  • 5 1/4 x 12 piece of card stock (my blue paper only goes up to 11)
  • score @ 2, 4, 8, 10
  • see pics for *folds*
  • inside base is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 (reduced by 1/8 for subsequent layers)
  • gift card holder strip base is 3 7/8 x 1 1/4 (reduced by 1/8 for subsequent layers) & attached with Sticky Strip just along each edge
  • outside panels are 1 7/8 x 5 1/16 (reduced by 1/8 for subsequent layers)
  • closed with a belly band
  • when assembling this card, use Sticky Strip and check your scores to make sure it closes. might need a little adjusting depending on your layer thickness

Swing/Flip Flop Card

  • 5 1/4 x 6 3/4 card stock
  • see diagram for score lines & cuts
  • place *card front* in embossing folder, run through Big Shot
  • repeat for *card back*
  • measure your center rectangle, it should be 3 x 4
  • reduced by 1/8 for subsequent layers
  • add ribbon ties to sides

This should get you going in the right direction on any of these projects. Let me know if you have any other questions or how my directions worked for you –

Happy Stampin’

  1. Libby–You are outstanding. I’m sure you were saving the ‘nitty gritty’ for classes, but you always add your special spin in hands-on classes. Even when I know how to make the project, I still learn stuff when you teach! And..I’ll admit, I would not have made the day 1 project correctly!! Thanks, Nancy
