I saw this and just laughed….
But, it’s SO true? Don’t forget.

Well, among other busy, busy activities this past weekend, I had my second Card Buffet!
These are such fun! It is a lot of work, but, I love how everyone is enjoying the choice of cards.
These are the fabulous choices for the month of March -

A few were repeat cards. Easter is just around the corner you know. Over the next week or so, I will post a more detailed description of some of the cards.
As you can see, I featured lots of Sale-A-Bration items as it will come to a close this Saturday, March 31st. Have you taken advantage of all the cool items that you can get for FREE?

My tip for today was sparked by my preparation for my upcoming Card Buffet.
I try to make my set up easy for my card makers.
Two of the cards require the use of two different products involving the Big Shot. Which means the use of the tabbed base plate. Oh, this can so confusing for some, ‘which tab do I use?’.
So, I marked the embossing folder with ‘TAB 1″ and the Adorning Accents Edgelit with “TAB 2″. See -

Just makes things a no-brainer and card making easier.

Ah, yes, a little past the Card Buffet. But, this was one of the card choices. I really, really liked this card. And, of course, did not want to give it out. But, you know, that IS the reason we make cards isnt it?
This card -

I sent to my daughter who is studying overseas. Snail mail love is always best. I hope she got it in time – you never know how to judge our postal system – much less anyone else’s.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Ah, getting into some more card designing. I have my Card Buffet next weekend, so I am still creating cards.
Will this one make the buffet?

I wanted to incorporate either Sale-A-Bration products or the Occasions Mini Catalog. The Occasions Mini won out. I went with the Twitterpated DSP, Mixed Bunch, and Blossom Punch.
My design inspiration came from Freshly Made Sketches, of course, it’s Friday. Sometimes as stampers, we need the nudge. Here was what I worked from -
Well, what do you think? I love to read your comments!
Supplies. Mixed Bunch Stamp Set. Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set. Island Indigo Ink. Pool Party, Riding Hood Red, and Whisper White Card Stocks. Vellum Paper. Twitterpated DSP. Blossom Punch. Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. 3/8″ Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon.
To make my flower, I stamped once in Island Indigo onto Whisper White, then inked up my stamp again and stamped onto Vellum Paper. All the layers are popped up with lots of Dimensionals!

So sorry about no Tuesday Tip yesterday – daughter is on Spring Break – and I just did not post……you understand, right?
On to todays little gems. I say ‘gems’ because there is so many of these little guys. Take a look at my latest treats for my co-workers -

Aren’t they just adorable? I made little boxed treats for St. Patrick’s Day. Inside are 3 gold wrapped chocolate coins. I am so imposed with the way these turned out. Easy, quick and a great little surprise!
Here is a close up of the box with a side view -

And, well, what do you think?
As I was preparing these, I had a few extra stamped circle images. I took those and started a banner of sorts. Look closer here -

I think I might back these onto a Perfect Pennants Bigz Triangle or something. I just thought it went so well with the boxes.
In order to get the flap to stay closed, I popped up the circle with Diminsionals on the bottom half. The flap gets tucked in under it. The center shamrock is also popped up. The single stamp and 6×6 In-Color DSP are both retired Stampin’ Up items (of course!!).

Well now, just look at this sweet little number sure to please for St. Patrick’s Day. It is already in the mail as we post this, but…….got a few things I wanted to post this week. And, I just had to share this in time for you to make one yourself.
I was just playing around – creating my round of cards for my March Card Buffet and I accidentally came up with these little clovers -

See, I was punching with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and one punched shape was short a scallop. I removed it trying to create something else when it hit me – these look like a clover. With the little stem and all. So, there you have it. And, they really do look like little clovers, don’t you think?
Supplies. Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. Basic Black Ink. Whisper White Card Stock. Paper Source Spruce Card Stock. 6×6 Hostess In-Color 10-11 DSP Paper Pack. Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. Scallop Trim Border Punch. Note Cards.
Now, when I made this card, my base was the Note Cards. I love this ‘size’, it makes for cute, quick cards – and a nice envelope ready to go. I also popped up the 3rd ‘clover’ with a Dimensional. Doesn’t photograph well, but, in person it is really that added touch!
Leave me a comment for Good Luck -

Todays card is very special to me. Not only did I combine a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches with an actual card I needed to create, I used up some retired DSP too! Yes! (I do have a lot of it, and I am thrilled to pull it out to use it.)
See my lovely creation -

I adore this card and did NOT want to give it out. That must mean it will be extra special, right? I made it for Crystal, Happy Birthday Crystal! Unfortunately, I am late to celebrate her day, so, I just reworked the card.
Here is what I worked from -
Supplies. On Your Birthday Stamp Set. StazOn Ink. Basic Black Card Stock. Ginger Blossom DSP (retired, um, sorry). 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. 3/8″ Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon.
I love to incorporate James Avery Charms into a card. This just ended being THE perfect sketch to highlight my ‘gift’. Combined with this Ginger Blossom DSP that has an Asian feel – this was way better than the Treat Cup slider I had originally made.
Happy (late) Birthday, Crystal!

Posting another one of my Card Buffet creations. This one is just perfect for a child’s birthday, boy or girl. See how sweet and cute -

This too, was a popular card at the class. However, you should have seen the supply box! Wow, just about every punch I had went into making this little cutie. My poor Wall of Punches was empty!!! This card was really easy to make, it just took several steps. A card like this really shows the versatility of Stampin’ Up’s punches. I think it was worth it. Don’t you agree?
Supplies. Party This Way Stamp Set (FREE during Sale-A-Bration!). Basic Black Ink. Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, and Old Olive Card Stocks. Brights Pattern Pack Series DSP. Full Heart, Owl Builder, Cupcake Builder, Modern Label, and Word Window Punches (see what I mean? 5 punches!). Adorning Accents Embossing Folder. White Bakers Twine.
Now, I must admit. For this card I definitely had some inspiration. Thanks Anja Beckmann! I had seen 2 cards of hers that were similar.

So my post on Saturday was about a cute little card box made from the Everyday Elegance Simply Sent Kit. Since I was not going to be featuring that project on my March Buffet, I was cleaning out the box. Which, prompted this post.
The cards from that kit come flat with all of that decorative edging detail still intact! UGH! No fun to remove. But, I found a quick and easy solution that I shared at the class.
I put an old, empty mechanical pencil in the box. It has a thin, I mean very thin, tip that is long and can poke through all those little areas in no time. Of course, use a trash bowl/bag under the card as to go along. A very thin stylus works well too!
